To Have and to Hold is three separate novellas from different authors. These are 3 meet cute type stories about two people meeting in different circumstances. Due to the length of the novellas they seem a bit rushed and we don’t have enough time to get to know the characters. I did enjoy the stories but not something I would enjoy regularly.
Weddings are magical and I loved reading about these darling autumn celebrations. Each one was set in a small town and had a sweetness that was quintessential.
My mouth was watering in LOVE TAKES THE CAKE. Charlotte bakes up the best desserts and her interest in Will was captivating--especially when a surprise discovery was uncovered. The romance was as light and fluffy sweet as whipped frosting and I especially loved the influence of the secondary characters.
THE PERFECT ARRANGEMENT had YOU'VE GOT MAIL vibes and I adored the way Nate and Amelia connected through email, using classic movie titles as their subject lines. Their meet cute was a literal bang and their connections were a bit messy and twisted, but that's what added a delightful element to their instant attraction.
Second chances at love is where it's at in LOVE IN THE DETAILS. Sometimes the timing might be off with the one who got away and a wedding and some heartfelt communication can put things back on track. I loved Holly and Josh and adored watching their past connect with their future.
Content: mild romance; mild religion
To Have and To Hold is a sweet compilation of three novellas perfect for light autumn reading. These love stories are satisfying and charming, although some have better character development than others. They move at an engaging pace, allowing readers to savor the story without getting bored. Overall this is a worthwhile read for those looking for innocent romance.
I love reading collection novels. Each novella is written by a different author. In To Have and to Hold, three of today's top fiction authors write novellas around the subject of weddings. Wonderful stories!
I enjoyed these sweet short stories. I am a fan of all of these authors.
While this book came during a very busy time in life that caused me to set it aside for a bit, I've finally had a chance to complete it. I'm SO glad I did! All three of these authors are amazing full-length writers, and that talent translated well into novella lengths. The stories they penned managed to retain layers and flesh out the characters even within the smaller word count. What I loved best about this package was that even while life still demanded much of my time, I was able to finish a complete story then put the book down until I managed to find the time to pick it up again. So for me, when the pace of life picks up again, I'll definitely reach for a novella collection again--especially if it includes these authors.
