Vintage Debbie Macomber that all her fans will love and have new readers picking up her previous books. A wonderful sweet romance that helps reveal the true meaning of Christmas with the theme of kindness and friendship. Julia and Cain are neighbors that don't share the same attitude for the holidays. Julia decides to "kill" Cain with kindness and writes about it in her blog. I am never disappointed in Ms. Macomber's books. They are full of love and goodness. Wonderful reading for young and old alike. Perfect stocking stuffer for the reader on your list.

Debbie Macomber is my go to author when I want a feel good story. I know that she will leave me with a smile on my face. This is the story of Julia and Cain. Julia is like a ray of sunshine and Cain is a grumpy dark cloud. Julia finally has enough of his grumpiness and starts to kill him with kindness. Every day she blogs about how it is going. Twelve Days of Christmas is a sweet, fun read. It gave a great message about being kind to one another and I loved it.

This was a sweet holiday story featuring Julia, a bubbly and likable person, and her unfriendly neighbor, Cain. I enjoyed the characters and thought it was a great book!

I am an avid reader of Debbie Macomber's book so when I heard that she had a new Christmas book coming out I jumped at the chance to read it. Debbie did a great job of really developing Julia's character as well as Cain's. In addition to creating well developed characters, Debbie also chose the right setting for the book. It was different from her other books that I have read which typically take place in small town not the city, which this one did.

In addition to the well developed characters and the scenery that Debbie described I also enjoyed how the book was different from the others that I have read. I enjoy all of her books but this one definitely held my attention better than previous books. I think it was because the book to me was more about the two characters then it was about the town (i.e. Cedar Cove series).

I really enjoyed how Debbie worked in Caine's Grandfather into the story as well. I thought that it was very sweet to see how Cain changed when he went to visit him and how close Julia got to him as well. They always say that elders in this time hold the wisdom and that was definitely true for this book. I also enjoyed seeing the relationship of Julia and Caine develop through out the book from strangers, to neighbors, to friends and then last but not least to significant others.

Can't wait to read more stand alone novels like this from Debbie in the future.

Couldn't put it down. I loved every second, even seeing where the climactic fight was going to happen from about a third of the way in the story. Julia and Cain wound up being perfect for each other - she softened his gruff edges, and he was fully devoted to her.

I loved this book!! Julia Padden gets a new neighbor and he's not exactly super friendly. Cain Maddox cannot help but be a scrooge around Julia regardless of what she tries to do to get to him. It's fun to watch things progress as Julia makes it her mission to break through to Cain. You won't regret reading this book!!

Julia Padden is a likable and bubbly character who is an aspiring writer. Cain Maddox is a surly, unkind individual who one day steals Julia’s newspaper, which causes a slew of change in his life. The change: Julia has an idea to kill her neighbor, Cain Maddox, with kindness in the 12 days leading up to Christmas. Julia sets up a blog and proceeds to write about her new experiment. Unbeknownst to Julia, this experiment will have long-lasting effects on her life as well.

I found this book very entertaining. The characters are well described and can be quite lovable. I really didn’t like Cain much in the beginning but you get to understand where he’s coming from as the book progresses.

Debbie Macomber is a wonderful writer with characters that jump off the page. I would recommend this book as a fun and entertaining read!

Happy Reading!

Debbie Macomber is back with a new Christmas story, and it's the perfect romance to read cuddled up by the fire and your Christmas tree.
Julia begins a blog, titled the 12 Days of Christmas. She starts out by trying to show overbearing kindness to a scrooge, who just happens to be her neighbor. Julia falls head over heels for him, but he isn't to excited about her when he discovers the blog.

I always see Debbie Macomber books sitting on shelves at my favorite stores. I always think that the covers are of quaint little towns and about people that seem like the type of people you would see sitting in coffee shops sipping a latte and reading a good book. I also always think of Hallmark movies when I see her name. And there was even a time that I would scoff at these books, roll my eyes, and say that those romances were too clean for me. I liked the sexier stuff.

HOWEVER, that has changed for me. I have matured. I’m in my 30’s now and I realize that there is something beautiful and wonderful about a nice Hallmark-esque romance.

What I loved about this book was that there was a blog involved. It’s a great twist to this holiday romance. I relate a lot to Julia because I absolutely love Christmas. There is something magical about decorating the tree and baking cookies while belting out Christmas carols. What I also love is that the spirit of Christmas down to it’s very core is goodwill towards everyone. You want to help those in need. You want to cuddle your family in a warm embrace. You want to share joy with others.

Cain was very much a Scrooge in the beginning but I could see the desire he had to be a happier person. He had his grandfather who was a great secondary character that brought the story full circle. You wanted Cain and Julia to get together and I loved reading each entry she wrote for the blog. It helped build on the relationship you saw unfolding in front of you.

There were many layers to the story and it was an easy read but not a simple story. This is the type of love story you want to read by the fire around Christmas time.

This is a story about the power of kindness and its ability to change people and make an impact on the world. The main characters were well developed . The plot was also well developed . There were some classic Macomber elements to the story for die hard fans of her work to appreciate. It manages at the same time not be as formulaic as some of her earlier work. A light read and enjoyable. Nice elements of humor were sprinkled throughout which was a nice touch.

I am a fan of this author and this book lived up to what I expected in the style and humour. However, what was so intriguing was the premise...I believe that we should all attempt to turn "grouchy" people into smiling people and be kind: not to just anyone one person, but to all with whom we are fortunate to encounter.

Another fun and endearing Christmas story by Debbie Macomber. I especially love Bernie's character and how much of a role family played in this story. The generations and technology gave it a realistic feel. This was truly a fast, fun, festive read and Debbie Macomber's new Christmas book is an annual holiday tradition for me. This story did not disappoint and helped make my holiday season merry and bright!

What a great, easy holiday romance! I loved the dynamic between the main characters. The grouchy, grumpy guy who hates Christmas and the woman who is going to change his world. This is a great curl up by the fire weekend read.

This was a fun, quick and heartwarming Christmas romance.

We could all benefit from our own "killing them with kindness" project. It would make a wonderful addition to any personal or public library.

Debbie Macomber is correct, one act (big or small) will cause a ripple effect and this world needs more light, more goodness.

Disclosure: I received this book free in exchange for an honest review. Thank you so much for the opportunity. Reviews are published on Goodreads and Amazon.
