It took me awhile to actually get into Take Nothing With You by Sarah V. Schweig. I didn't really care for the book to be honest. I didn't think it was anything special.

It may have taken me a while to get into this book, but Take Nothing With You felt like that friend who, despite not seeing each other for a long time, will still welcome you with open arms.

Take Nothing With You was unlike the other poetry books I've read. I'll have to admit that although I liked some of the poems like Bloodwork, Rooms, and Stories (II), I didn't connect with a lot of the poems either. Sarah has a very lyrical, sometimes dark and longing, way of writing poetry.
