This was good. I liked the series setup and the characters. I am interested in checking out the next book in the series.

I received an ARC of this book a couple of years back from NetGalley and the publishers. With one thing and another it has lingered in my pile of books to be reviewed. Having decided to live up to my commitments I started reading this today and looks promising to be a good fast read. The Redmond brothers are three striking good looking men who come back together after the death of their hard father. Here we have Zane's story. The youngest of the brothers is called into the family business of bounty hunters to track down a bail jumper, Iris. She unknowingly was led to be a mule for a cartel by her ex. The story moves along very fast with some erotic scenes thrust in. It was a good read and left me wanting to read more about the other brothers.

I was immediately drawn into the story between the bounty hunter and the skip. Zane is back in his home town to visits his brothers. He’s trying to alleviate the pain and sadness caused by the loss of their mother and father. His family has been torn apart since her passing and now he’s trying to make amends by helping into he family business. He definitely has quite chip on his shoulder and has built up was between his brother’s.
I felt that the first half of the book was redundant. It seemed that the author struggled to move past the fact that Iris skipped bail and has been trying to create a better life for her and her sister. The chemistry between Zane and Iris wasn’t there for me.
The second half of the book turned around and contained the chemistry I was hoping for . The author brought excitement back to the storyline . I liked the misfit band of brothers, Rush, Quinn and Zane , that worked together to keep Iris safe. These men proved that Redmonds stick together until the end.
It had a few flaws and not the strongest plot but it was enjoyable and a quick easy read.

DNF. I just couldn't get into this book. The character's weren't head over heels likable, but they weren't totally bad. The overall story took too long to get to the point for me. And by the time I was a few chapters in, I was just done. Maybe t some point I'll give this series another chance, but right now it will be a DNF for me.

Zane and Iris combustible from the start. Both dealing with pasts that still haunt them. Together they overcome their pasts and find love in each other’s arms.

Book 1 in a new series featuring the men of Lone Star Bounty. Zane hadn’t planned on joining the family business but when family calls he returns to Texas to help his brothers out by searching for a fugitive. Iris is on the run from a drug cartel. When Zane catches up to Iris circumstances lead him to believe she is innocent and he will do everything he can to keep her safe.

TAKE ME DEEPER - Jackie Ashenden
#1 in the Texas Bounty romance series
HOT AND EXCITING - 4 stars
Plot - 4 stars - Zane is military specialty and home for a break between re-ups. His brother asks him to help with one job for their bounty hunter business, but it turns out to be much more than her bargained for. Iris is that job, a drug mule who was caught up in a job that was over her head, she was arrested, then she skipped town because she was afraid of the cartel and how they'd punish her if they caught up with her, either in or out of jail.
Writing - 4 stars - Ashenden knows how to write a hot romance, and this one was no exception. She caught my attention right from the first page, getting me involved in the story, building the action and the sexual tension, until the climax, which was very exciting and a satisfying ending to the book.
Characters - 3 stars - Both characters are very appealing. Zane is the perfect military hero--strong and resourceful, but with a tender and thoughtful side. Of course, he's typical alpha so he would probably be uncomfortable to live with in real life, but he's definitely the controlling and attractive type in a romance novel. Iris, for her part, is very attractive--small and slight but with an extremely strong center core, as well as being a loyal family member to her little sister. Of course, she was a criminal to begin with, so I had a bit of a problem with that. Somehow we were supposed to ignore that and focus on the fact that she was regretting that decision, although it seemed more like she regretted it because she got set up and caught, not because she felt selling/carrying drugs was wrong. Secondary characters of Quinn and Rush (Zane's brothers) and the Duchess (a competitor) are interesting and will be good leads in future books.
Title - 4 stars - Very suggestive.
Cover - 4 stars - Sexy and built guy. Typical of the genre, but what's not to like?
Overview - 4 stars - I found this exciting and enjoyable and will definitely continue with this series. On first glance, Zane and Iris seem a little mismatched, but their personalities are both filled with steel and determination, and they were closely tied there. I liked how they gradually developed their relationship through sheer grit, and I was rooting for their success.

I've read all of Jackie Ashenden's books & this one was exceptional !! Loved this series!!

I have a new favorite author! Jackie Ashenden writes a fantastic story with unique & sexy characters.
This is actually the first book in the Texas Bounty series but I read them out of order. Each can be read as a stand alone but the characters in this books are in all of the other books.
Loved the heat between Iris & Zane. Great story with a happy ending.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I really loved this book was a fab read which was well written with great characters cant wait for more from this author . would recommend

Iris Callahan is trying to get her sister back from a drug cartel, but ends up getting arrested instead. Then she decides to skip on the bail. She needed to be out to still find some way to rescue her little sister. Enter the Redmond Brothers and their bail bond business. Zane the youngest is back from Afghanistan deciding on whether to go back in of not. Rush the middle brother is just out from prison after eight years for a crime he did not commit, and is still pissed. Then there is Quinn, either him or their now deceased father committed the act that Rush for some reason went to prison for. Now trying to save the business Quinn takes on this skip from another local bail bond named duchess, there is a whole other story between her and Quinn but we don’t know what it is went. Quinn has recruited Zane to go find Iris, and when he does he does not bring her in right away, and this pisses of Quinn, but makes for a good story. He decides to help Iris to get her sister back. This also starts a back and forth attraction between the two of them. This is a story full of action, intrigue, romance, some hot sex scenes, and banter between the brothers that make you think that they are ready to come to blows at any moment. A very good book.

Normally, I love all things Jackie Ashenden...but this one was just ok for me. I am not sure what it was exactly....but I think if I had to pin point it...it would be the lack of connection I felt the with characters :(

The book started off slow. I had a hard time connecting with the characters even tho the premise was great. About half way through the story, things changed. The plot sped up, the characters had bite. I was now into it. Overall, if you can stick with the story, you will enjoy it.. Iris is a survivor and her story is touching. I did enjoy the banter among the brothers, their unspoken support of each other, their conflicts, and am curious to see more of them down the road hopefully.

Who can resist a brooding, conflicted and an emotionally scared sexy soldier? Not many is the answer. Zane Redmond, the youngest brother of the Redman brothers has helped to deliver one hell of a story. I will take to liberty to assume that an author's ultimate goal is to show the heart of their characters and I truly believe that Ms. Ashenden has achieved that with Zane. Yeah, we readers get the alpha male that we often crave but this one is well developed and believable. Heck, all the Redmond brothers are flawed beauties and that just makes the story even better.
For this installment, our hero is paired with a feisty redhead named Iris Callahan. Usually, when we readers pick-up these stories one of the main characters are wealthy or have come from a well to do family/lifestyle. Iris is a fit for our hero and our hero is a fit for Iris because they broth know what hard knocks are. Nope, the heroine isn’t some kick butt and take names kind of girl but she is a hero in her own right. The bottom line is that both characters ROCKED and this was well worth the read.
From the opening till the ending, Take Me Deeper will keep the reader glued to the pages. This book was part one to the Texas Bounty series. There is definitely more to come because there is a great cast of secondary characters (especially those Redmond boys) that readers will want to know about.
