I'm not convinced by this book to work toward eliminating democracy but it does make me want to consider viable options. The difficulty, pragmatically, is that in order to find out if another system is better we have to change systems. Anything partial is likely to both make what remains of the democracy even worse while sabotaging the potential success of the alternative. Before even considering making such a change requires a lot of thought and consideration, a lot of imagining (in detail) how such a system will work, and running various situations and events through a mock up of the system to see how it would react. Even then the results won't guarantee anything, humans are, after all, involved in this.
That said, this volume is a nice step toward trying to think about alternatives. Even if you believe democracy is the best possible system, it doesn't hurt to consider options. To do otherwise is ignorant and amazingly arrogant.
