There are times when a story is nice and easy, and there are times when it's a nail biter that will make you pace back and forth, occasionally putting the book down to curse before picking it up and reading again. Don't let the cover of Moonshot fool you, it's more of the later than the former and I loved it! I was expecting a story like Alessandra's most recent on the lighter side ones, but instead got a thriller with just the right amount of sweetness and heat.

I loved the way this book pushed my limits. What I thought was a hard limit and difficult for me to read, wasn't such a big deal while I was reading. I remember feeling surprised at the turn of events and hurt for everyone involved, but not the anger and disgust I usually associate with the actions. I also feel my reaction was tempered by both the characters and the situation they found themselves in. I mean I found it very easy to like Ty. Even when she made mistakes, I understood her and accepted her as she was. She's loyal, strong, smart, and loves what she does. She's friendly and caring.

I wasn't Chase's biggest fan when this book began, but I knew the moment he met Ty, things were going to change. Chase underwent such a transformation in this book and I enjoyed being along for the ride. Chase really won me over. In the beginning I didn't think I could get over his destructive personality, but as I learned more about him, I began to understand what it was that drove him to do the things he did.

Another part of the book I really enjoyed was seeing Chase and Ty talk and interact. Those two threw off sparks whenever they were in the vicinity of each other, but I also truly felt like they were soulmates. There was something about their strong personalities that really worked. While the romance is just fantastic, the romantic suspense aspect of this book was really well written as well. I had no idea who the culprit was and even knowing that the person responsible had to be someone well known in the story, I was still not able to guess the identity of the killer correctly. I swear I felt my head spin when the truth came out.

Alessandra Torre is a phenomenal writer. Each book is a little different and always well written. Her characters are complex and the situations are as real as they are fictional. All together, it makes Moonshot an adrenaline pumping page turner you'll enjoy and not soon forget!

Wow!!! This Book Is A Sports Romance With A Difference And The Difference Is Breathtakingly Heartbreaking. We See This Young Girl Broken In A Way Come Of Age, Fall In Love Anf Battle For It.

The Love Between Tyler (Ty) And Chase Is Forbidden But So Right, So Beautiful And Leaves You In Tatters Screaming Blue Murder At One Point.

Although This Book Has A Killer On The Loose In It, I Don't Think Its Impact On The Story Is Enough To Matter And In My Opinion Could Have Been Left Out.

In Saying That This Book Is Great, Full Of Sport, Love, Angst Anf Leaves You Firmly On The Edge Of Your Seats. I Recommend This If You Love Sports Romances But If Not I Think It Has Enough Of Everything To Give It A Shot.

There are certain books that stay with you - it could be because of their characters, or it could be because of the phenomenal writing or it could be because of the way the plot just smoothly moves!

But rarely, rarely do we come across books that have everything going for it - the characters, the writing, the whole she-bang. really! And Moonshot is that book for me!

This is my first Alessandra Torre book - and all I want to do is just stop - stop and bask in the beauty she ends up delivering - this is one of the MOST INTENSE, SOUL SHATTERING FORBIDDEN AND SECOND CHANCE LOVE that I have had the honor of ever reading.

I didn't expect to understand - I didn't even expect to be invested - but I was and Ty & Chase, their emotions, love and their PURE CONNECTION kept me at edge of the seat -  kept me flipping through the pages, because it was a physical NEED to know they found their way back together.

Before, I go any further, I have to be honest - I know squat about baseball. I am an Indian, bought up on the staple of Cricket, Football and tennis - the last two only when there wasn't any cricket match going on.

I have never even tried to understand baseball - so my review will NOT touch any aspect of the game.

I stood there, lost in far left field, and watched him reach for a bat. Watched him run his hands along its length. I watched him step up to the bag and push the batting helmet hard onto his perfect head. And before he even tightened his grip, before that first swing that cracked open our future and sent the ball high over my head… I was already done for.

Ty Rollins - is the daughter to the Coach of Yankees - she has grown up around players, her life is baseball and she is more interested in playoffs rather than girlfriends.

She is the typical tomboy - a girl who is strong, combative and definitely one who uses her brains than her looks - even if everyone around her believes otherwise. She adores  and is very close with her father, Frank Rollins, but is her own person when it comes to her life.

But she is still a girl and a girl can make assumptions, rash decisions that she wouldn't ever realize how it could effect her life.

For that smile? He could be a better man. He would be a better man. And everything would be okay. It had to.

Chase Stern, is arguably the BEST BASEBALL PLAYER to hit the game (I wouldn't know, but everything in the book points to it being so!) - but he is also a f*ck up.

And no, I am not being generous.

He might be a God on the field, but his decisions and attitude leaves a lot to be desired.

But when his colossal f*ck up leads to him being traded to his Dream Team - he believes everything is going exactly right for him - not that he has any reason to change his attitude or habits.

Ty has the hugest crush on Chase - not only he is good-looking (read: HOT!), he also is pretty much perfect at the game she worships.

And when he gets traded to the team she works for (rather tags along!), it's like her greatest wish come true.

"Like what you see?"

But they meet - in a moment that changes their their whole outlook! Fate? Or Willful choice?

He couldn’t. Never again, not with anyone else. Nothing would ever, after that moment, compare. Not with her cry, not with her reaction, not with her kiss. A woman shouldn’t be created in such heartbreakingly beautiful combinations. A woman shouldn’t, in fifteen minutes, have the ability to ruin him for life.

This romance isn't for the fast and furious readers - it's a slow burn romance, it's forbidden and intense at it's core but it is oh so sweet!

Their's is a relationship that takes time to build - but there is always the intense attraction between them that JUST FREAKING LEAPS OF THE PAGES of the book. It was a constant physical ache reading the volley of emotions both of them deluged under.

The kiss should never have happened. If my father found out, if anyone did, it would be disastrous. Together, we would only bring chaos.

Their's was a relationship that WASN'T SUPPOSED TO BURN - but it did and the fire of their love burned everything to ground.

I adored how Chase seemed to have actually made a 180 degree turn in his behavior - but I respected the author, when she made sure that he didn't give any simple excuses for such a huge turn - just made it into what it was.

Their start of the relationship is volatile - and what else would expect between a grown man and a teenager - it could be only qualified as chaos - so many decisions leading to so many regrets!

Twists, twists and turns that kept coming like bullets and I couldn't do anything but bleed for them!

It’d been almost four years since he’d touched alcohol, drugs, or women. Four years since he’d last seen her smile, heard her voice. Four years of being a saint and focusing only on baseball. His reputation had soared, as had his stats, and his finances. But his sanity was still in question. Four years later, and he couldn’t even bear to stay a night in the same city as her.

4 years later - Chase and Ty are on the opposite sides of the spectrum. Both have their lives, but they aren't exactly LIVING!

They both have regrets but life moved on for one of them and the other laid still - they kept breathing, smiling, and SURVIVING - but never did they expect to come face to face with each other! !

Their break was so heartbreaking and so final that I never really could see how, JUST HOW would they repair their broken hearts.

This wasn’t a one-time, dirty affair kind of guy. This was the man who owned my soul. This was the man who, despite the miles of separation, and the years, and the gold ring on my finger, I still loved. Fiercely loved.

This romance, second chance at it's core, has one limit that I never thought I would ever be able to justify! (And while, I am sure you could guess the spoiler quite well, I suggest YOU GO IN THIS BOOK - absolutely BLIND! Trust me, it's better THAT WAY!)

But somehow, somewhere along this ride, Ms. Torre made me complacengt - not in a way that I wuld actually condone their actions, but their love was so strong, so pure, that nothing and no one else in the world mattered and no matter how wrong I felt their actions were on the account of principle - I JUST COULDN'T BEGRUDGE THEM, their happiness.

Sometimes no matter what seems to be right, isn't exactly the answer to your happiness.

I loved him too. My best friend. My partner. But whatever embers of love I felt for my husband was nothing compared to my love for HIM. That was a wildfire, burning hot and mad and out of control, eating everything in sight. It consumed my marriage and left only charred black.

A spine chilling murder mystery also takes up your attention - though for the first 50% or so is only because of the chilling news pieces before the chapters.

Sure it makes for a great background - but this isn't a murder mystery, I wouldn't even classify this book into Romantic suspense - what it is, is actually one of the most intense emotional rides I've ever had the opportunity to be on!

The first half of the book is forbidden, but it is nothing, NOTHING at all compared to the angst, the emotions that the second half invokes in you - when all you want to do is just flip through the pages like a mad woman just so you could be sure that everything just ended perfectly!

This book isn't for the faint hearted, it is also not for the easily offended - this books is those who understand that the emotions aren't staid, they are messy, soul shattering and absolutely unavoidable.

Certain loves can’t be fought. The harder you tried, the harder you would be knocked back, over and over again, until it beat you into submission, until your heart caved and body surrendered. Love like that didn’t know the rules of society; it didn’t care about life mistakes. It only knew what must be, and what would happen—no matter what.

A Good Kind of Distraction

That's what Chase Stern was for me. Yum! Alessandra Torre gives her readers one heck of a baseball player to dream about long after finishing Moonshot.

We begin with the young, beautiful Tyler, a ball brat. Raised from the age of seven by her dad, now at seventeen, Ty lives and breathes baseball. I absolutely loved that she wasn't a girly girl and could hold her own in that dugout with the toughest of men. Ty's dad kept her on a pretty short leash and the minute he heard there was a chance that the wild and crazy Chase Stern was heading their way, he knew it was all going to change. And boy did it ever.

"Together, we would only bring chaos." ~ Ty

Those words ring so true. On the heels of yet another s-storm, Chase is heading from L.A. to New York to play for the beloved Yankees. Any guys dream, even for Chase, however he knows once he gets there, he's in uncharted territory. The Yankees are, pardon the bad pun, but a whole other ball game. They like to keep the reputations of the club and players very clean. It's one, big happy family, however once Chase sees Ty, all bets are off. He doesn't care whose daughter she is, he wants her.

"Chase Stern's arrival at the Yankees hit like an atomic bomb-so loud it was silent, the cloud effect rippling out from his person in a giant wave that touched all of us." ~ Ty

I couldn't get enough of this book or these characters. I absolutely loved Chase and Ty together. They were a perfect fit, even when they weren't if that makes any sense. Alessandra Torre is building up to something big the entire time in only a way she can, using her characters as a total distraction.

"And before he even tightened his grip, before that first swing that cracked open our future and send the ball high over my head...I was already done for." ~ Ty

Me too Ty, me too. Just the guys name had me wanting to read this book and the more he opened up to Ty, the more I fell for him as well. He isn't perfect by any means, but also doesn't try to be. Chase owns his mistakes and keeps trying to move forward the best he can.

"You can't always recognize stupidity, Ty. Most of the time it takes years to see your own mistakes." ~ Chase.

Boy do those words ring true for this young couple. Beautifully written, Alessandra Torre gives her readers a gaggle of interesting characters to keep the story moving along fairly quickly. She is an author you have to keep close track of and I love that about her books. Moonshot is no different and just may be my favorite book of hers that I have read so far.

Fantastic read! As always Alessandra Torre gives us stories that are complex, full of twists and turns where things are never what they appear. This is certainly one of those stories. What I thought would have been a sexy, sports romance about a secret, forbidden romance between 17 year old ball girl Ty and 23 year old baseball superstar Chase, turned into an intense, dark and very angsty read of cheating, betrayal and serial murders. When all of these factors were tied together this read became so intriguing and sometimes painful read.

Review I love sports romance especially Baseball, throw in a forbidden relationship and you have an amazing mixture in one story. Alessandra Torre has become a favorite author for me an Moonshot not just deliver but has excel my expectations.

Moonshot tells the story of Ty and Chase. Ty being the daughter of a baseball legend, young, a little naïve and all around passionate about the game. and Chase Stern the bad boy of baseball, cocky, hot but after some misfortune events for Chase he joins Ty's father team. but what happens when you know you should stay away from the forbidden but instead it makes it more desirable. Chase and Ty's relationship is far from perfect, is more flawed but that is what makes it great in my opinion. their relationship had a lot of twist and turns that make me frustrated and question a lot of their choices and actions let just say the angst was on point , but I think is was worth it for them in the end.

I will not go into too much detail because I think this story has a lot twists that need be read and enjoyed on its own. This story has everything you expect and more from a sports romance, is sexy, steamy add suspense and angsty situations and you have a great summer read. if you are a fan of Alessandra past work you will love Moonshot and if you are new and just enjoy a great su

I’m so excited when I started reading this book, and that excitement never stops. It’s such a fast paced book that will entice you not to put it down until you’re done reading it.

Chase Stern the most sought after the baseball player with oozing sex appeal, but with not-so-great personality off the field, a man whore. But everything changed when he met Tyler “Ty” Rollins.

Tyler “Ty” Rollins a 17-year old girl who grew up around the game of baseball, the girl-Friday of the players, whose dream is to see her team win the world series and Ty know who’s going to help them achieve it… Chase Stern.

The attraction between Chase and Ty is undeniable no matter how hard they try not to give in. This is the start of their secret romance. But things didn’t go smoothly… feelings got hurt and everything falls apart between Chase and Ty. Chase got traded to another team. Ty moves on with her life.

Four Years later their path crossed again, this second part of the book will definitely give more of everything mystery, suspense, romance…

There’s no strike out in Moonshot… the plot was well executed… the characters are well defined… the element of suspense was present… over all it is a complete home run for me. Moonshot is definitely one of my best reads for 2016. Brilliant, just brilliant Ms. Torre!!!

Moonshot gave me such a book hangover!

Anyone who has read my reviews, knows I love me some baseball books. So I knew I'd love this one as well. And I was right!

Tyler is the quintessential tomboy; her dad is a professional baseball player and she's been raised around baseball and the Yankees clubhouse for years. She knows the ins and outs of baseballs, rosters, plays, deals, etc. So when the bad boy of baseball is traded to the Yankees, she is in awe and has a little crush on him.

Chase is totally accepting of the "bad boy" title and strives to live up to it. Until he meets 17-year old Ty. Ty gets him as no one else does and makes him want to be a better man who is deserving of her. Outside influences change the course of Chase and Ty's relationship.

This book is sweet, heartbreaking, maddening, suspenseful and just an all around fantastic read!
