Another outstanding book from a remarkably knowledgeable and talented author. The book is filled with fascinating vignettes ranging from a frozen baby mammoth named Lyuba in Siberia to the amazing Cambrian explosion revealed in the Burgess Shale of British Columbia. Well-illustrated and superbly written, this is obviously a work of love and is incredibly readable. If you're looking for a superb tutorial on the evolution and development of life on our planet, you couldn't find a better one. I recommend it whole-heartedly - you won't be disappointed.
