Kresley Cole, Larissa Ione, and Gena Showalter are three of my very favorite authors and when I saw that they were doing this anthology, I was over the moon and couldn't wait to read it! And while I had already read Ms. Cole's "The Warlord Wants Forever" more than once, I was excited for a re-read and I was likewise excited for Ms. Ione's "Forsaken by Night" and Ms. Showalter's "Dark Swan." They were all fantastic reads and I'm so glad that they decided to do Blood Red Kiss together!

You know I've already read Ms. Cole's "The Warlord Wants Forever" and loved it, so I'm sure you can guess that that didn't change. Whenever I do do a re-read, it's never boring or old, it feels new all over again. It's a sexy, fun read and Nikolai and Myst will always be two of my favorite characters in the Immortals After Dark series.

Ms. Ione's "Forsaken by Night" is the first book in her MoonBound Clan Vampires series that I have read, but it only made me eager to read the first two because it was excellent! It squeezed my heart in the bad ways and the good ones, it angered me, but it also put many smiles on my face. It was very unique to all the other vampire books I've read and that is one of the things I loved most about it - it was just great!

I might be in the minority, but Ms. Showalter's Otherworld Assassins has always been my favorite series of hers, so whenever I get the chance to visit that world, I can't wait to dive in! And "Dark Swan" - oh, if I had any complaints, they are just that I didn't want it to end! It was amazing and I couldn't get enough of the characters or the storyline. I absolutely adored it and I can't wait for more!

Blood Red Kiss was without a doubt a success for me! I loved the stories, the HEAs, and getting to read my favorites is always a plus. I could have read this anthology for a long time and never gotten bored. There was so much I loved, but I especially enjoyed the little bonus feature we got at the end of Ms. Cole's take. Everything about this anthology was wonderful and even if you only get it for one author, they are all worth the read!

A few years ago, before I started book blogging, I discovered the world of paranormal romance. Around that time, I fell in love with Ione's demons and Cole's valkyries. Then last year I stumbled across Showalter's alien hunters. Fast forward a few months, and then Blood Red Kiss is a thing, putting three of my favorite authors into one book. Can you say heaven?

As someone already familiar with the world of the Immortals, I knew Nikolai and Myst's story. I've already read it, and I vaguely remembered some of the details, but I was nevertheless excited about reading it. Myst is a wonderful character, and it was interesting to read about her now, a few years after being introduced to her, and see how the way I saw her changed from the first time I read it. And of course I see her differently. I was able to focus on her flaws, and I think her pride might be the biggest one. She's proud, but she's also the most loyal person, because she'd be willing to do anything for those she loves. And Nikolai is still intriguing, he's still mysterious, but he's also a tad vengeful. They shouldn't fit together as well as they do, but I still get a funny feeling when I read about them saying "I love you" to each other. And then there are the rest of the Valkyries, which are, as usual, a riot to read about. I'm planning on doing a reread of this series, tp see if there are any new stuff to be discovered about Nix, try to catch a glimpse of my love, Lothair, and generally reacquaint myself with everyone.

I can't remember if Lobo appears in the first MoonBound Clan Vampires book. I'm inclined to say yes, but I can't be 100% sure. I loved his story though, so, so much. It was interesting to see how Ione decided to combine vampires and werewolves and make this amazing, new take on their mythology. Lobo is a sexy guy. But he's also a tortured soul. I love reading about him finally getting to say what he needed to say, what his former clan needed to hear for a very long time. I love these big moments, when someone regarded as inferior gets to say his or her side of the story and the people on the receiving end of the harsh truth get to be stunned and basically ashamed of acting like they're the kings of the world. And Lobo gets such a moment, and I couldn't be happier for him. I loved the beginning of the novella, with him and Tehya, his wolf, running and playing in the forest.

I've only read one book in Gena Showalter's Alien Huntress, but I loved the idea of this world a lot. I also like the fact that there's a bunch of connected series surrounding this world. I enjoyed reading Lilica's story so much. What I loved about this story is that it explores the same issue from different points of view. You have Dallas who sees Lilica as a potential threat and her sister as someone who needs to be hunted down, you have Lilica who's trying to prove her sister is not so guilty as she seems, and then there's Lilica's own sister who proves to be completely different than what either thought she was. I loved reading about Dallas and Lilica, but I am super, super curious to read about about Lilica's sisters after this novella.

And in case you need one more reason to love this book, there's a fantastic part in this book showing the way these three authors procrastinate... I mean *ehem*... brainstorm. It's funny to get to experience that, but also super, super intriguing, because they drop some interesting hints about what's to come in these three series.

Lately I've had the need to "go back to basics", in a way, to find why I fell in love with reading in the first place, and this book reminded me why. Believe it or not, it wasn't the fun, hot, sexy times in the book that did it. And believe me, there where a lot of hot, sexy times in it. But the stories in general, the creation of new worlds, using mythological elements and figures, supernatural creatures, and creating new creatures, new elements, it's just what attracted me to reading in the first place. I definitely loved this book, and I cannot wait to see what these three ladies have in store for their series in the future.

This anthology series features three short stories from three wildly successful paranormal/urban fantasy series.I honestly loved that book, I think Gena did a marvelous job with it. I mean, it's not easy writing about a character from 5 years ago, remembering all the little details about him but also about the universe, the secondary characters, the plot etc.The sexual tension is off the charts in this book!Everything was perfect!!

BLOOD RED KISS is an anthology with some of my favorite paranormal romance authors. THE WARLORD WANTS FOREVER is book one in Kresley Cole's "Immortals After Dark" series. FORSAKEN BY NIGHT is a novella and book 2.5 in Larissa Ione's "MoonBound Clan Vampires" series, and DARK SWAN is a novella in Gena Showalter's "Alien Huntress" series. Each story in this anthology has enemies who are forced to work together and explore a tentative trust. What I find especially fascinating about each story is how it soon becomes apparent that determining who the good guys and bad guys are in each erotic tale is very much subjective.

Even though I have enjoyed many of the books in Kresley Cole's "Immortals After Dark" series, I have never gotten around to reading the first in the series. It's interesting to see the first appearance of beloved characters like the brilliant, crazy, and always entertaining Nix, and infamous places like Val Hall. Kresley Cole effectively combines amusing and often snarky dialogue with epic battles and the delightfully ridiculous. Men and women are often warriors of similar skill and strength and a man who underestimates a woman does not live long. At the opening of WARLORD WANTS FOREVER, Myst the Coveted is vampire Nikolai Wroth's prisoner, but it is not long before he becomes a slave to his desire for her. Both Myst and Nikolai are flawed characters and drive each other equally crazy before they admit their true feelings for each other. At various times while reading WARLORD WANTS FOREVER I laughed, cringed, and cheered. I live for the moment when Kresley Cole comes out with Nix's book.

I was so happy to discover a new story in Larissa Ione's "MoonBound Clan" series, because it's a phenomenal vampire series. Out of all three stories in BLOOD RED KISS, the relationship between vampires Tehya and Lobo is perhaps my favorite. Unlike the other two stories in this anthology, Tehya and Lobo do not start out as enemies. On the contrary, stuck in her shifted wolf form, Tehya has lived with Lobo for years as his constant companion. Having enjoyed the previous books, it's a little disorienting at first, to see characters like Hunter in a less than flattering light when seen through the eyes of Lobo and Tehya. I like this alternative perspective on favorite familiar characters, and think it gives the story an extra kick. The spirituality, myth, magic, and sexiness in FORSAKEN BY NIGHT is what I've come to expect from the "MoonBound Clan Vampire" series, and I look forward to the next installment.

I've enjoyed Gena Showalter's "Lords of the Underworld" series for years, but have never tried her "Alien Huntress" series. I like paranormal romance, but don't really care for science fiction. Dallas Gutierrez is an Alien Investigation and Removal agent and there are tech gadgets galore, but DARK SWAN appeals to me because of the characters and connection that develops between them. Like in THE WARLORD WANTS FOREVER, Dallas and Lilica are natural enemies inexplicably drawn to each other. In spite of the predatory instincts they have toward each other, Lilica and Dallas are equally baffled by their mutual feelings of attraction and tenderness they elicit. As the bond they form enables them to hear each other's thoughts and experience memories, the reader is able to understand both characters a little better. Lilica and Dallas have both experienced personal tragedy and trauma at a young age that has shaped who they are today. Gena Showalter successfully combines aliens, zombies, an evil triplet bent on world domination along with an unconventional, but torrid, romance packed with sexual tension. I look forward to reading about Lilica's sister Jade in a future book.

The novellas in BLOOD RED KISS by Kresley Cole, Larissa Ione, and Gena Showalter are great additions to their respective series and I want to read more!
