Oh what a surprise this was! Not only was it fresh and quirky, it was sexy, and laugh out loud funny. This is that kind of book that when you finish it, you are so disappointed to come back into the real world. It left me lonely for the antics of Corri and Daria, who made the perfect BFF duo in this crazy tale.
“She'd read a few of Earth's romance novels- Mattias wasn't like any of those men. No one had referred to him as the duke of anything, and he didn't have his own helicopter or an office building with his name on it. He was a nice, normal Earth man who wanted to find a nice human female and a canine companion to settle down with.”
Corri's early, highly inaccurate teachings left her with a lot more questions than answers when she crashes her ship on earth. Mattias isn't anything like she expects, and their romantic tango that follows is all the more hilarious because of it.
The world building was a wonderful addition. I felt right at home with these small town characters, and charming places. It is just the kind of world I could easily find myself slipping into again and again. I definitely need more from the irreverent Daria.
“All then, her curfew is six a.m., and you best keep your hands where she wants them, young man...”
This is one of those books that I feel could be passed over due to its slightly sci-fi nature, but please don't make that mistake. It is a treasure in the rough, begging to be read, and I promise it won't disappoint! ~ George, 5 Stars
