I enjoyed this book. It pulled you right in and kept you turning the pages. This book was well written and I had no issues following the story. It tied into the other books in the series well.

I love Paige Tyler's SWAT series. If you haven't started the SWAT series, I highly recommend it. Even five books in Paige still continues to produce exciting storylines, lovable heroes, strong heroines and a guaranteed happily ever after.

Alex has already featured in the previous SWAT series books so I already knew and loved him, yet loved him more as we got to see inside his head, and especially seeing his interactions with the SWAT team's adopted dog, Tuffie.

Lacey is a veterinarian so there are lots of animals featuring in this installment, always a positive in my opinion. Lacey is a bit of a closed off character, making Alex work hard to get her attention much less her trust. She didn't have a stable childhood, was given a lot of responsibility young, and even now while starting her career she is dealing with a pile of debt and raising her younger sister.

I enjoyed their relationship - Alex put so much effort and thought into his dates - the action and mystery and as always, was left eagerly awaiting the next installment in the series.

A shifter involved with a veterinarian? It seems inevitable in a PNR series and there's certainly a cute element to it. I had doubts about it but since I like this series, I figured I'd give it a try.

The heroine, Lacey, is a veterinarian. She's passionate about her work and her hobby, mission really, of helping dogs who have been rescued from dogfights. Alex, alpha werewolf and SWAT member, also has a soft spot for dogs (I mean. they are cousins, many times removed. :D ). Together they work to uncover the people behind a local ring. In addition, Alex and the team are dealing with a drug case, and there's a mystery concerning girls going missing from a local college. There was a lot going on and at first it felt like too much and disjointed. The action and suspense dominated the story with the romance not as strong.

Lana had some seriously stupid moments. She made lots of stupid decisions and didn't always think before acting. She was compassionate and full of passion but needed to think about the consequences of her actions. Still, she tried to do the right thing and I have to give her credit for that. When it came to Alex's secret, she really didn't take it well and even over-reacted.

Alex's behavior bordered on stalker a few times, which was disappointing especially since he's a decent guy in many ways. He rescues dogs, he's a paramedic, loves to help people, and he's a kick-ass Marine and SWAT member. He even takes care of the team's mascot dog. He's a big wolf with a heart of gold.

"Wolf Unleashed" had a lot of repetitious elements, themes or scenes reworked from earlier books in the series. The story was too busy at times but there was a sweet romance and lots of actions. It was a decent addition to the series but easily forgetable.

This interesting series about a group of alpha wolves, all coming together to serve and protect the humans of their town, in this case Dallas, just keeps amazing me and I find myself wondering where these crazy stories will lead next. The series has had some heartbreaking twists and turns, the previous book especially, but Alex and Lacey’s story was no slouch when it comes to emotion and drama. Alex is the kind of male that every woman wants to find for herself; he’s sweet, kind, sexy, strong, loving, and protective, and of course he’s as alpha as it gets without being a jerk about it. And the most important thing is that he’s absolutely nuts about Lacey and works his tail off to get her to agree to begin a relationship with him. While he knows there are bound to be problems for them, mostly the fact that she has no idea he is a werewolf, but he’s determined that she give him a shot. Lacey is so not interested in starting anything with Alex, but the harder he works the more she wonders if they might be able to at least have a fling. But circumstances as always are against the couple, until tragedy strikes and Lacey has no choice but to trust Alex and his men with the most important person in her life. I enjoyed seeing Alex and the guys in action and of course the sweetness of Alex’s chasing Lacey, but the best part of this story was when Alex could come clean with Lacey and show her the real him. Lacey was a little bit hard-hearted, especially for an animal lover—which of course all vets are—and I was surprised that she made him work so hard for even a chance at a date. The passion between them is obvious to everyone around them even as Lacey pushes him away, but when she finally gives into the heat there is no way that Alex won’t burn her up. I enjoyed this story a lot and look forward to seeing where the series takes us next. The characters and the amazing connections between these wolves and their “One” is something that I wish I could find myself and, of course, Paige’s skill at bringing together two so different individuals is her true skill. I’m looking forward to the next story and wondering just where the next wolf with find his mate. Keep up the great work Ms. Tyler!

Another heart-gallopin g, action-packed, sizzling paranormal romance that is a real stunner! Paige Tyler never seems to disappoint me. These SWAT books are addicting as can be and they are full of irresistible heroes, just like the one in Wolf Unleashed...except this hero may be even more...YUMMY if that is possible. Hot sex, sizzling romance, plenty of show stopping action..this book had it ALL!

Wolf Unleashed by Paige Tyler is the fifth book in the SWAT series. The previous books (in order) are: Hungry Like the Wolf, Wolf Trouble, In the Company of Wolves, and To Love a Wolf. While each book could be read on its own, I think reading them in order will offer more understanding of the paranormal particulars and character personalities- which will make for a more engaging read.

Lacey Barton can't deny her crazy attraction to Alex Trevino, but that doesn't mean she has time for the gorgeous SWAT officer. She's hell-bent on discovering who's behind the brutal dogfights sending countless mauled animals to her veterinarian office. The trail leads Lacey to a ring of vicious drug dealers and suddenly she's in way over her head-right smack in the middle of a SWAT stakeout. With Lacey in danger, Alex's wolf side is unleashed. But when she witnesses Alex shift, she's even more terrified. Now it's up to Alex to crack the case-and earn back Lacey's trust and, ultimately, her heart.

Wolf Unleashed is another fast paced adventure in a world of this SWAT series. I like that the characters are complex. Lacey has some issues to work out and some series trouble pausing to think about self preservation- but is quick to look out for others. I felt like Alex was a little too perfect, but maybe his perfection is what was needed for Lacey to let him in. I liked the larger storyline of crime fighting, and found the suspense very well done. I will admit that I saw trouble coming with Lacey's sister miles away- and actually predicted some of the big surprises and reveals before they happened. Although, I still enjoy Tyler's writing style and enjoyed the read. I did not think this one was as outstanding as some of the other books I have read in the series, but it was still worth a Saturday night's time.

Wolf Unleashed offers exactly what I expected from the author. Characters with depth, issues and danger that need facing, and the ability of those characters to communicate when all is said and done. Fans of the series will need to read it. I would recommend reading the book as part of the larger series, only because of the ground work that has been laid in them for the werewolf information and character development. I have enjoyed the series, so if this looks like something you would enjoy, starting at the beginning will not be a hardship.

Wolf Unleashed is the next in the SWAT series and I really enjoyed it. It's got an originality about it that has pulled me in from the get go. DNA for a shifter is dormant until a traumatic experience brings the werewolf forward. Different and satisfying. Alex and Lacey have a good chemistry and enjoyed their banter. The story in the background pulled me in and this series just keeps getting better and better.
I can't wait for more!

If you want sexy wolf shifters, Paige Tyler won’t disappoint.

Lacey is a veterinarian who loves animals of all size and breed. However, when she gets called in for a couple of very hurt dogs, this little spitfire shows her own claws. The blurb would suggest that this story is about dog fights, drug wars and wolfy mates but there is so much more going on. It was a lot to take in but the author tied it all in seamlessly.

A running theme in this series is about wolf shifters finding their perfect mates. They each quickly learn that finding them is not enough in most cases. Alex figures out, you can find your mate but telling said mate that she’s ‘The One’ may not go over well.

The story is a constantly evolving and is so full of passion and chemistry between Alex and Lacey. It is a wonder that I ever let go of the book to sleep or eat.

I can’t say for sure that this book could be categorized as a standalone. It does have a complete story that has a beginning and an end but since some of the back story includes knowing the story or at least an outline of the previous plots. Ms. Tyler tried to cover this by mentioning the previous plots. Also since some of the previous books characters do play an important role in this, knowing something about their story would be a helpful thing. Not completely necessary but informative.

This novel was such an enjoyable read, it pulled me into every exciting scene and made me fall in love right along with the characters. That’s a good book.

I absolutely love this series. These guys are hot! But this book does need to come with a warning. If you love dogs, and get upset when bad things happen to dogs in books you might want to skip this one. It has some harsh moments with dog fighting rings and what happens to the dogs afterward. Other than that Fantastic book. This book just really hit the spot with my PNR/Action/Suspense reading needs.

Alex is one hot tamale, and when he falls he falls fast one look at the veterinarian who has been working with DPD's new Animal Cruelty Squad and he's a gonner. Lacey doesn't want a relationship, she watched her mother self destruct over men and has been raising her little sister all on her own. She is concentrating on getting her sister through college before she even wants to start thinking about her love life. But in walks Alex all sexy and a drop dead gorgeous smile not to mention he had the adopted pit bull mix, Tuffie, with him. No matter how easy he is to flirt with or talk to or how good he is with animals or how she can't stop thinking about him or how he won't give up asking her out, Lacey keeps turning him down, determined not to date yet. Finally after both her sister and her best friend tell her there is no time like the present, and that not all men are like the losers her mom dated she finally agrees to go out with Alex. ohhh Fireworks! That is until she finds out what he is.

Unfortunately, life intercedes. Alex is working a case with the DEA trying to track down a new and deadly drug on the streets which seems to also connect to a string of missing girls from the local colleges. Lacey has problems of her own when a dogfighting ring has ties back to a very powerful player in the city. The shit really hits the fan when Lacey's sister goes missing and the only one she can turn to for help is Alex.

Overall, such a great book, so intense at parts and Lacey and Alex together when they finally get together is well hot to say the least.

This is a good entry in the SWAT series, but not stellar. It's not as good as the last and hopefully won't be as good as the next. The kidnapping, the romance, all needed just a little something extra to really carry the excitement found in prior books.

Alex and Remy were werewolves but also SWAT officers. Remy, Max, Alex, and Jayden were all werewolves - the whole Swat team was- working with Sergeant Rodriguez of the Dallas Police narcotics division for nearly three weeks trying to catch the dealers selling a new designer drug called fireball. Fireball had killed eight people in the last month. Fireball was very addicting. Gage was the alpha of their werewolf pack and quickly agreed to help to help Sergeant Rodriguez. Alex and the rest of the swat team had adopted a pit mix dog they had rescued who had required a lot to be brought back to good health. Tuffie had been used as a fighting dog in dog fights and had barely survived when a man who died trying to protect her. So the Swat team all took care of her, There was a new vet - Lacey Barton - today when Alex took Tuffie for her checkup. Alex was quite taken with her. Alex could not remember ever having such a strong and immediate reaction to a woman he had just met Alex had went through the change three years ago he would have died otherwise Kelsey was Lacey’s sister and they shared an apartment. Lacey had basically raised Kelsey since Lacey was twelve. Kelsey was studying to be a nurse. Lacey had never been in a long term relationship because she simply didn’t trust men. Alex was a serious man at heart but Lacey made him happy and Alex smiled more now. Alex asked Lacey out but she always politely declined. Then he showed up and volunteered with Lacey and she told Alex he would go out with him. Lacey and Alex had fun on their dates. Lacey told Alex how she had seen her mother commit suicide. Kelsey was ten when their mother died Alec and the team had caught some dealers who sold fireball. But there was an incident at the college and it involved fireball so there was other dealers out there. Also there were hunters out there they killed werewolves. Alec and Lacey were at a small club when Alex spotted two werewolves on the stage.Alex went up to talk to them. They explained they moved to Dallas to be safe with their family. They were running from hunters who were stepping up their game to find and kill werewolves. Lacey wondered why Alex had been single o long as she thought he was perfect. Then Lacey gets herself in trouble and as Alex rescues her Lacey sees Alex change and thinks he is a monster and won’t let him explain.
I loved this story , It made me sad that Alex and Lacey both had to hurt so bad until Kelsey came up missing and she asked Alex for help and she started to accept who and what he was. I also loved the fact Alec and his brother werewolves were right there to help her about her sister no matter how she felt. Even if Alex and the other Swat team got in trouble they were determined to find Kelsey. I didn’t want to put this book down it kept attention from beginning to end. I just loved it one of my new favorite books. I loved the plot and the characters. I loved the ins and outs of the story and I highly recommend.
