Review A great title for this story of misdeeds, miss parenting, and fear of living a full life. Shannon grew up learning and assisting her father in the big and little cons. Her mother suffered from schizophrenia, and her BFF was the preacher's daughter. No one ever blamed Maggie, and she has found her love, but Shannon had left hers and her old life behind.
She is a successful attorney, works with abused kids and women along with her friends and has little to no love life. That changes when her teen love shows up and handcuffs her—not the fun kind. Noah's in the FBI and threatens to take her in for a crime she didn't commit.
The story reveals her past, her renewed feelings for Noah, and a bargain that will pull her back into a life she's escaped to help the good guys. This is the beginning of danger for them all, revelations that could change her life and make her face the past she escaped.
At the end will she have a new life? A renewed love? More than she knew to fulfill her life. Ms. Farago has written a complex story with compelling characters and really interesting villains. It is a romance with all the intrigue, fast-paced, and one not to miss. The transitions are a bit abrupt. This is part of a series of complete stand alones taking place in Vegas. I for one am going on to read on to the rest of the series.
