Because I Love You tackles teen pregnancy in such a realistic light that is not touched on often in YA. This is a very emotional read and is not for the faint of heart. It will make you cry, feel for the protagonist, angry and more. Needs trigger warnings for grief, bullying, depression.
I wasn't able to get into this one. I tried until 14% and decided it just wasn't for me. Thank you for the opportunity to read this title.
Will no longer be reading or reviewing this book due to lack of interest in the title, and the fact that the title has been archived.
It was painstakingly difficult to watch the characters in this book continue to make such poor decisions for themselves. There was a lot of friend/family drama going on that detracted from the premise of Andi being pregnant. There were a lot of situations that seemed very unrealistic and I just had no sympathy for Andi because she made such bad decisions. Even though all the secondary characters sucked, she brought a lot of the problems on her self and seemed very pathetic.
I picked this book up on and I'm so glad I did because it was a really fast read and the first scene got me hooked already.
This novel follows a 16 year old Girl her emotional rollercoaster through a teen pregnancy. Eight weeks ago Andie had a little too much to drink with one of her best friends, Carter and they slept together, swiftly promising to not tell their other friend - Heather - because it would only cause trouble. And cause problems it did. When her friends found out, she is treated as a pariah by them.
When a boy from the past enter in her life agian. Neil Donaghue, the dark hair blue-eyed bad boy who comes from a broken home, he once dated Andie and screwed that up, but when he needs her and she needs him, a friendship is form and later it become love.
Overall, this book was such a surprise for me. It had it all.
