Defying Gravity is the second book in the young adult contemporary romance series called, Finding Perfect by Kendra C. Highley. I am such a big fan of the entangled crush imprint because they have never led me astray. They are always cute, flirty fun and they always leave me with a smile on my face. And I am happy to report that Defying Gravity is no exception. I really liked this book. It was a ton of fun. And because it features snowboarding, it is the perfect winter romance. it is a bit superficial but it's perfect for a quick read.
In Defying Gravity, we meet Zoey, who has a crush on both of the Madison brothers- Parker and Luke. I will admit that I found Zoey kind of flaky and annoying at first. I didn't like that she just wanted to win the heart of either of the brothers, but as I was reading she grew on me. I liked the lighthearted fun of this book and I enjoyed the romance. As I mentioned earlier the whole premise and interactions are a bit surface and superficial but it was all in good fun.
If you are looking for a quick cute read that has lots of flirting and unresolved sexual tension, this is a great pick from the entangled crush line. If this turns out to not be your cup of tea, then grab another book from this imprint because there are so many other great titles that are sure to put a smile on your face.
I wasn't a big fan of the MC, I just find her to be annoying and naive. I felt like at her age, she should not act the way she did. However, I did appreciate that their families were a huge part of the story. With YA, it's often that the parents are never there so I really liked that.
