It was an okay read. Simple story line. Not a favorite title so I wouldn’t recommend to others. I have other titles I would recommend first.
A charming and sweet story, that is perfect for a lazy afternoon in the sun
Thank you Netgalley for this lovely book for an honest review
I read this book ages ago and loved it. It is a great story. I did order it for my library at the time.
Enjoyable foodie magical realism book. If you enjoy Sarah Addison Allen, this one will certainly appeal. It was a bit off the wall at times, but I still thought it was really delightful.
I heard a lot about this book from friends and I'm glad I finally read it. It was a really charming story and perfect for a lazy Saturday. Loved the touch of magical realism and the cast of characters!
Can we take a minute to appreciate this beautiful cover?! Its gorgeous!
I loved The Secret Ingredient of Wishes! Such a charming, sweet read. I love books set in small town and this one is in Nowhere, North Carolina. Not only did I enjoy Rachel but the crew she meets in NC really make the book for me. I loved the characters and the writing. I can't wait to read more from this author!
Rachel has an unusual gift - she can grant wishes. Unfortunately, Rachel doesn't quite have a handle on her talent and sometimes the granted wishes go terribly wrong. With a childhood memory of a granted wish with disastrous consequences, Rachel flees her hometown in hopes of saving those around her from her abilities. She sets out with an unknown destination in hopes of finding a place where she can start over. Her car runs out of gas in North Carolina in a little town named Nowhere. Rachel is taken in for the night by a woman named Catch who also has a magical gift. The townspeople in Nowhere seem to embrace Catch's magic and Rachel begins to think that maybe she can find acceptance and make Nowhere her home. But as the wishes keep appearing and filling her wish box unfulfilled, Rachel needs to make the choice to either flee Nowhere forever or to risk granting the wishes and hope that disaster doesn't strike again.
This was a fun read. I loved the magical realism. As I got to know the people in the town of Nowhere, this book became harder and harder to put down. I highly recommend this one for a lighthearted, magical read.
