Angel Medina, an ATF agent, has to be rescued when his undercover operation goes wrong. He had gone undercover to bust Raúl Esparza, head of a Mexican drug cartel and he had successfully established himself as Raul's boyfriend as a way of getting into the cartel, but Raul was killed and Angel's cover was at risk of being blown. Angel's handler Paul has disappeared and his life is in danger.
Angel is shocked when his former fling Charles Hunter is part of the team that extracts him. There is no love lost between the two men but they have history, a history that is full of sex but little relationship. Angel is still in danger. Someone is stalking him and apart from his missing handler there are suspicions that Raul isn't really dead.
Charles is shocked to run into Angel again but their attraction to each other is alive and well, and so is the antagonism between them. The two men have to deal with their past and their feelings for each other and the danger that stalks Angel.
This was an interesting story but I didn't warm to the main characters. I think they just didn't really like each other much and their clashing mixed up with sex became wearying after a while. The ATF staff team also come across as fumbling their way through the investigation. I read the story but it dragged for me. I am not sure why but it just wasn't a favourite for me. The story has a slow pace which I didn't really enjoy because it felt as if it was being stretched out. I was a bit bored when reading this. Although it was nice enough to read it isn't one that excited me.
