This was my first novel by LP Dover, and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. The writing was a bit stilted at times, but overall this was an engaging read.

I've been trying to go back to my older books in my Netgalley TBR and my reading preferences have changed so much that I couldn't make it very far in this one. Just wasn't quite working out for me. At this time, I'm no longer interested in this title. Thank you for the opportunity to read the book and I apologize for the inconvenience.

I like that the plot line wasn’t simplistic and the author made steps for things to intertwine together. Was well written and enjoyed reading.

Bristol and Jaxon have a sweet connection and passion; their relationship does move rather quickly, pretty much love at first sight. Jaxon has done bad things in the past, but he's trying to be a better guy. I thought it was funny that Jaxon didn't like Bristol's brother for being arrogant, but he's just as arrogant. I also thought it was funny that Jaxon's manwhoring ways came back at him because it shows you really should know who you are sleeping with. A good point was made about sleeping with random people; someone could go off the rails and you'd be screwed. Jaxon has got himself a crazy stalker that could prove rather dangerous. That's not the only thing that could affect Jaxon and Bristol's relationship; he wasn't completely honest with her when they got together and Jaxon doesn't get along with Bristol's brother. Enjoyed the suspense and the football aspect. Overall, an entertaining story with a heartfelt connection.

Attempting to snag the quarterback sister was not the smartest move that Jaxon has ever made. Lucky for him Bristol liked him back and didn't kick him to the curb. This book was dun and sexy. I loved that Jaxon had to work to get a smart girl like Bristol to fall for him.

Jaxson and Bristol’s story was a great addition to the series. Once again the bad boy changes his ways after meeting the right girl.

This is the second book I have read in this series. Both books started out well, but quickly became a bit formulaic and didn't have the build up of the character's relationship to make them believable. Jaxon had too much of a 180 in his feelings toward being in a relationship and I didn't find Bristol very likable. I found a lot of continuity issues and errors in the draft that I hope they fix in the final version.

Once again this author did an amazing job with this story and I found myself not ebbing Abel to stop reading the story once I start. This was an enjoyable story form start to finish with an enjoyable storyline and characters I enjoyed reading about.

This was such a sweet romance, with some suspense! I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I am a huge fan of second-chance and sports romances! This one did not disappoint! I highly recommend it!

This is engrossing, dramatic, sweet and sad. Jax has been a jerk his whole life, hut then two things happen that deeply affect him. One is that he meets Bristol, who totally captivates him. Bristol is a hard working, sweet woman who has sworn off football players. But Jax is charming, romantic, sweet and irresistible, and she doesn't know that he plays football. It's an emotional and entertaining story with interesting characters that I really enjoyed reading.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Netgalley. This is my voluntary and honest opinion of it.

Bristol and Jaxon sizzle on the page. Jaxon plans to earn his way onto his new team one way or another. This series just keeps getting better and better.

OMG Jaxon drove me nuts in this book!!! He was such an arrogant and cocky football player! He deserved the disrespect he got, but I still felt bad for him and was excited the direction that he finally went in the book. I hated to love him!!

Loved Bristol! She was independent and could have given a rats a## about her brother's teammates (even though the teammates thought they were all that and a bag of chips).

However, what happens when there's sparks between her and Jaxon!? A great story, that's what! Loved this book (even though I'm not a sports fan)!

Thanks to NetGalley via Random House Publishing Group - Loveswept for a copy of this amazing book! Can't wait to read L.P. Dover's next book!

Jaxon was the star kicker for the Carolina Cougars.in the NFL. Jaxon had done some bad things to his teammates and was steadily working to be forgiven for. Jaxon is trying to change but it isn’t easy. Then the team gets a new quarterback named Ryan. Jaxon didn’t like Ryan right from the start . Then Jaxon decides to go after Ryan’s sister Bristol. Bristol is a good girl but had been burned before and knows what it’s like to date a football player. Bristol feel there is something about Jaxon. Jaxon has pulled some pretty awful stunts on his teammates. Jaxon is a jerk for the most part in the beginning . Bristol had moved to Charlotte one year ago and works for M & M Architectural Design where she is an interior designer . Bristol had left Texas to leave her past and her cheating ex boyfriend - A NFL wide receiver for Dallas behind her. Jaxon has to show Bristol he no longer that bad boy player jerky guy. Jaxon has no desire to settle down. Jax and Bristol have crazy hot chemistry. Bristol is seeping into Jaxon’s heart. Bristol made Jaxon open his eyes.
I had mixed feelings about this story. Some things I liked and others not so much. It was a quick read. But somethings didn’t feel realistic to me. It was an insta- love/ lust and I didn’t like that. I didn’t care for the overall plot. I also found the story predictable. I did however choke up at times which is good as my emotions were involved. It irritated me that the football team seemed to hate each other instead of working together like a team is suppose to do.. There were some things that confused me at times. Bristol should have already known who Jaxon was since her brother Ryan was on the team. Also I think there was to much information that wasn’t needed shot in at odd times which interrupted the flow of the story for me. Also this was a little too busy for me to completely enjoy this story.I did like Bristol’s character and although I didn’t particularly like Jaxon at first after awhile …. As you can see and as I said somethings I liked and others I didn't.

Intended for Bristol is the 9th standalone story in the Second Chances series from L.P. Dover. Though I am a huge fan of hers, I have never read any of the previous books in this series. While I have loved everything I have read from Dover previously, if I am honest this book just didn't fully work for me. While there were things I liked here, overall I had mixed feelings and this was my least favorite of Dover's books that I have read to date.

Jaxon Reed is infamous for being a player both on and off the field. While he knows he has earned his reputation, that doesn't stop him from wanting to get back at his fellow teammates by going after the quarterback's sister. Bristol Thomas usually avoids guys like Jaxon, yet she finds herself unable to deny the attraction she feels to him. Soon Jaxon's revenge fling with Bristol turns into more than either of them expected, but can it possibly be something that lasts forever?

I will admit that a huge part of my issues here were with the characters. I found it hard to ever really warm up to either of them, and that had me struggling the whole way through this story. Jaxon was a total player that was also a jerk at times. While he did change his ways, it didn't ever feel as though we ever really saw the evolution of his character. It all felt surface deep and as though things just happened with the flip of a switch. I think part of that was because this was a huge case of insta-love and it was hard to really see them as having truly fallen for one another. I also didn't understand either of these two and their decisions/motivation. While I thought that they had chemistry, I just wasn't ever able to connect with them and that had a huge effect on how much I enjoyed the story.

Overall, this one wasn't my favorite from L.P. Dover. I normally love her books, and this one just didn't feel like her. I felt as though a lot of this story was spent with too many details being told to the reader about previous characters in the series, and I would have liked the focus to have been more on Jaxon and Bristol. I think I might have been able to like them more had things been different in that regard. Unfortunately this book was just okay, and I am used to Dover's books being great. I probably had too high of expectations when reading this book, but I have always loved everything that I have read from Dover and this one just didn't feel up to what I have come to know from her. If this one sounds like something you would like, I recommend giving it a shot. This one could simply be a case of it being me and not the story itself, and I really do believe that L.P. Dover is a fantastic writer. This won't be the last I read from her.

I swoon. It was cheesy, but in the best of ways. Instalove and a lot of drama are what really made this book easy to enjoy.

The premise of the book is one that I've read several times before, but Dover's execution of it had me hooked from beginning to end. Again, swoon.

<b>Love is not something you go out and look for. Sometimes what you’re looking for is already there. Love finds you, and when it does, ready or not, it’ll be the best thing to ever happen to you.</b>

Love found me in the sweet, sexy, and suspenseful sports romance, <i>Intended for Bristol</i>, by L.P. Dover. I lost myself in this spellbinding story, one that hit my heart like a fast-thrown pass and sunk itself into my soul. <b><i>Intended for Bristol</i> caught me like a football and claimed me like a touchdown.</b>

The tender and touching tale grabbed me from the start, wrapping itself around my heart, where I did not want to surface for air until the very end. Pulse pounding. Eyes tearing. Heart breaking. Feels flowing. Heart healing. I WAS ALL IN.

Jaxon ‘Jax’ Reed is the hazel-eyed, dark-haired, tall, and muscular Carolina Cougars kicker—the most hated player in the NFL and a player off the field too. This playboy has no desire to settle down. Hit-it-and-quit-it is his mantra…until his hit was Bristol Thomas. What began as revenge to land the new and hated Carolina Cougars quarterback’s sister, Bristol, ended up as more.

<b><i>"At first, I thought I wanted her out of revenge, but now I knew that wasn't it at all. I wanted her to myself."</b></i>

Beautiful, dark-haired, green-eyed, curvy, and confident Bristol Thomas is an interior design extraordinaire. She is not looking for any relationship, especially with a Neanderthal football player, but Jax is different and feels like destiny.

<b><i>"He had awakened something inside of me I didn't know I'd be able to control."</b></i>

Jax doesn't pursue women. They come quite willingly to him, but Bristol is different. She is strong, witty, natural, beautiful and speaks her mind...and Jax wants a taste of her.

<b><i>"I want you, Bristol. I don't think I can go for long without being near you."</b></i>

Oh did Jax charm and claim every part of me! He is the perfect catch. ALL ALPHA. PURE PERFECTION! I LOVED Jax, and his dirty words and big heart so much.

Jax and Bristol's chemistry was electric like the buzz in the air during a sold-out football game. A slow burn sizzled through the story as the build-up brought on butterflies that fluttered with feels, my heart fluttering too. Jax and Bristol's passion pounded from the pages straight to me. The angst from that pent-up passion was an adrenaline-induced high…and oh did I FEEL THAT RUSH!

<b><i>"She was the only woman to look at me like I wasn't just a famous football player, that there was actually more to me than that."</b></i>

Bristol is the Jax needs to breathe...no longer a game but the woman who is slowly seeping into his heart, and oh did Jax bury himself into my heart.

<b><i>"I can see the passion in your eyes. Not many people have that look."

"It's all because of you, Bristol. What you see is because of you."</b></i>

Oh. My. SWOON! Jax made my heart beat to the max and my soul soar high in the sky. I was floating on Cloud Nine as I FELL IN LOVE WITH JAX!

While I was not a fan of Jax Reed in previous stories in this series as he stirred up trouble with the team, I was his biggest fan in <i>Intended for Bristol</i>. This story SOLD ME ON THIS AMAZING MAN! L.P. Dover wove her magic where I fell in insta-love with all things Jax, a player who revealed a hidden heart of gold.

<b><i>"This guy was going to break my heart; I could feel it."</b></i>

Has this player, Jax, finally stopped playing off the field? Will Jax convince Bristol, who has had her heart broken by football players that he wants to pick up those shattered pieces and make her heart his?

I SWOONED HARD over this sports romance sprinkled with sugar and spice. <i>Intended for Bristol</i> bled passion and promise. I swam in a sea of suspense as this fairy tale had a villain, making it explosive and even more emotional. My soul soared high and my heart was hit like a football over this sweet and smoldering story. <b>L.P. Dover dropped a thrilling and tender touchdown of a romance with <i>Intended for Bristol</i>, a blissful book you need to tackle hard like a football.</b>

The story is written well, just like you’d expect from Ms. Dover. Unfortunately, Jackson just isn't a hero I can get behind. He has talent on and off the court, but he's been so vile to people. I didn't see enough for him to be changed in my eyes. I guess I never saw any true remorse. Regret, yes, but I think that was because of how his reputation suffered, not because he was truly sorry.

If you've read the other books in the series, and have high hopes for Jackson, I think you'll like this read. Otherwise, you might want to skip it.

I received an ARC of this book, via NetGallery, in exchange for a fair and honest review.
