When we first meet Jaxon he is not a good person. He is selfish and arrogant. He causes a lot of problems with his team mates and he stays in trouble. However, with this book we get to meet the real Jaxon. You get his background and what he his all about. At first we think he is up to his old antics when he meets Bristol. He wants to use her to get at her brother. He soon realizes what a great person she is. I liked Bristol, She was smart and independant. She gave Jaxon a chance even though she had doubts. They go through the usual misunderstandings and drama to get there HEA. Even though predictable, the story is entertaining.

Intended for Bristol is the ninth book in the Second Chances Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a really good story. Jaxon is everything I would expect from a professional football player. He is a bad boy with a reputation as being a man whore. He is trying to get back in the good graces of his teammates due to his past actions. Bristol is busy building her career and doesn’t have time for a relationship or the games men play.
This is a really good second chance love story. It was well written and has likeable characters. What started out as revenge on the quarterback quickly turned into more than Jax could ever had imagined. I loved Bristol she was everything I look for in a female lead. I had a love/hate relationship with Jaxon due to his past actions. He is very predictable as a jock but his is a changed man once Bristol enters his life. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes sport romances.

I always look forward to reading a "bad-guy" hero. Unfortunately I couldn't fall in love with this hero or his story. There were some interesting revelations to his character but nothing really explaining why he was such a d*ck in previous stories and why we should root for him now. The heroine was blah. As a reader I felt a disconnect on the relationship and found myself uninvested.

Jaxon Reed has a reputation as the “bad boy” Kicker for the Carolina Cougars. He’s notorious for his despicable antics and penchant for one-night stands. Trying to put the past behind him, Jax is slowly winning over his teammates, as he tries to make amends to those he’s previously wronged. But when a new quarterback joins the CC’s, Jax takes an instant dislike to his arrogant teammate. Old habits prove too hard to resist for Jax, especially when he spots the man in the company of the gorgeous woman that he has already set his sights on.
Bristol Thomas is a talented interior designer, who’s sworn off football players forever. Having been burned in the past, Bristol is vehement in her decision to keep a safe distance. But with a brother who plays for the NFL, steering clear of his teammates might not prove to be so easy. Especially when--unbeknownst to her--one of her brother’s teammates has already captured her eye.
While Jax’s intentions towards Bristol are not initially on the up and up, it is clear early on, that Jax is enamored by her. True feelings for Bristol begin to emerge, and Jax must navigate waters he’s never swam in before. But what happens when the truth is exposed? Will Bristol be able to see past the secrets and lies and believe the man whose heart she’s already claimed?
“Intended for Bristol” is the 9th standalone novel in author L.P. Dover’s Second Chances series. A quick, easy read, Jaxon and Bristol’s story is a perfect mixture of sex, secrets and lies. Throw in a side of fatal attraction, and you have all the makings of a truly captivating story and a great addition to the Second Chances series. In fact, it’s one of my favorites in this series, thus far.

So I read Defending Hayden (which came a couple of books before this one) and while I liked it, I didn’t love it. There were some issues for me with the insta-love and how the characters reacted to it. The rest of the story, including the suspense element, worked well but the actions of the characters kept me from being fully vested.
But I definitely remember Jax and when I saw that he got a story I just had to read it.
Jax has done some very bad things for some very stupid reasons but he’s working to be a better teammate and friend. Although he still slips up occasionally :) Like when he meets a hot girl at a restaurant bar only to realize that she knows his rival on the team. Yeah … too hard for him to resist! But time spent with Bristol quickly has him rethinking his plans to use her against his teammate. She’s sexy, smart and fun, and the one-night stand king quickly finds himself thinking of a future with her.
Like with the previous book these two fell in love just a tiny bit too quickly for my taste. They barely spent any time together at all before they started thinking long term but once again if you set that aside the rest of the story is really enjoyable. The parts with Jax’s stalker are obvious but that doesn’t stop it from working well with the rest of the story.
Not one of my top stories but definitely an enjoyable read. And readers who have liked the other books in the series will absolutely love this one too.

Something about Jaxon just really struck me the right way. He seemed misunderstood and pigeon-holed, and I loved watching his romance with Bristol unfold.

I have read two other books in this series and thoroughly enjoyed them, so I couldn't wait to read this one. A fantastic story, the writing was well paced and flowed really well. I just couldn't put the book down till id got to the end. I just loved the characters and the was the story is told in dual points of view. I cant wait to read more from this author in the future.
Highly recommended
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book

Intended For Bristol is another fantastic story from L.P. Dover. Third in her Second Chances series, this story focuses on Carolina Cougars bad boy Jaxon and interior designer Bristol, who is also the half sister of one of his team mates, a player he clashes with regularly.
Despite being part of a series, this story works well by itself. It's action-packed and fast-paced. If you're a fan of American football then the scenes on the field will make a whole lot of sense to you but if you're like me and don't know one end of the ball from another don't worry - L.P. Dover has seamlessly worked in explanations of what the various positions do in a way that makes it all quite clear without boring the reader.
I liked the well-rounded characters and enjoyed the story overall though there were a few moments which stretched the bounds of probability for me. That aside, this was a good story and I look forward to more from this author.

This is the ninth book in the Second Chances series but can be read as a stand alone novel.
Jaxon is a football player who tried to break up another couple in this series and is still paying the price for his actions. He has changed and is slowing making amends and changing. He is even accepted now by most of his team. When the team gets a new quarterback who rubs Jaxon the wrong way Jaxon reverts to his old ways.
Bristol is the new quarterback's sister. She also has been burned before by another NFL player. Jaxon initially hides who he is and they begin a relationship. Jason majorly falls for Bristol and "gets" how important she is to him and why his past choices hurt others badly.
They overcome their secrets and disapproval from others along with a stalker from Jaxon's past and have their HEA.
Another fun read in the Second Chances series.

Jaxson Reed was the guy everyone hated in previous books from the Second Chances series, but he deserved his second chance and gets it in Intended For Bristol. I enjoyed his turnaround and learning more about who he really was after only seeing the negative. Bristol Thomas was a good match for Jaxson despite how their relationship began.
As much as I enjoyed this fast, easy read there were some issues that distracted me. Some of these may have been just my sports fan mind, but there were aspects that bugged me even though I realize it's fiction. I've enjoyed all the previous books in this series, and while I liked this one too it just fell a little short. A good read though.

What's not to love about hot football players and the women that love them. I very much enjoyed the story of Jaxon and Bristol. I liked the sexy banter between the characters. A good book with a little bit of everything thrown in to make an interesting story. And the book was full of some other interesting characters as well.

Loved this one! The romance was sexy, sweet and the chemistry was off the charts! I loved the development of the relationship between these characters. I can't wait to read more by this author!

This book was a bit of a disappointment for me. The characters interactions felt strained and forced and the worst part was it had an "insta-love" plot. There were times I felt like I had skipped over something because their relationship went from 0 to 100 in the blink of an eye..it never built up and that is this reviewers worst pet peeve. There is a back story to Jaxon and it was referred to more then once and even that felt very disjointed and did not mesh and flow well with his current story. This book in the series fell flat for me.

LP Dover writes the best romantic suspense novels around. I've read the series from book one and have enjoyed every one if them. This one was especially suspenseful and I found myself both crying at certain parts and screaming at others. Include the sweet way the two characters got together and you've got pure gold!
Jaxon was a really bad decision maker. Tired of not getting the limelight, he'd succumbed to jealousy and started doing really crappy things to the guys he was envious of. That's a really mean and disrespectful way to behave, but luckily he'd also had some friends who'd taught him that who you are isn't just your job--it's how you behave towards the people in your life that matters. He was slowly turning it around.
Unfortunately sometimes his instincts were still not the best. When he met the new quarterback for the team, Ryan, he didn't like him. Dislike turned quickly into more, and he wanted to get under Ryan's skin. After seeing Ryan's sister Bristol, he figured he could bang her and then embarrass Ryan in the locker room.
But what a turning point that was.
Bristol loved her new home and job in Charlotte. She was also very interested in this new guy, Jack, who was really sweet and well mannered. Would she be able to trust him after having her last boyfriend be such a douche?
Unfortunately there was going to be a reckoning, and Bristol was going to find out that Jack was not who she thought he was. Really interesting and romantic read where you keep wondering when the bullet is going to hit. Thanks

L.P. Dover always pulls at my heartstrings when I read her books and she sure is a fantastic storyteller that can create a beautifully romantic masterpiece. The Second Chances series is a set of standalone novels that are sure to make you squirm in your seat and heat up your kindle while giving you a story that will have your heart soaring with love.
Intended for Bristol was an amazing romance full of ups and downs with one epic love story that will have you trying to turn the pages long after the book is over. Full of steam, passion and a few twists, Dover gives us a story of finding love when we least expect it.
I fell hard and fast for Bristol and Jaxon... rooting for them and racing to their happy ending. And yes I said rooting for them aka our main man Jaxon... Give him a second chance :) because this book proves he is worthy of it.
I highly recommend this book.

Bristol Thomas never dates football players, she considers them to be Neanderthals. That is except for her brother, he's the quarterback for the Carolina Cougars. As an interior designer, she doesn't know the first thing about football, except for what her brother tells, which is to stay away from football players. When she meets Jaxon Reed, she tries not to like him, but his charm and laughter and the fact that he wants her to decorate his apartment is a plus.
After all his public indiscretions, Jaxon's teammates have started treating him like a pariah. As revenge for that treatment, he decides to go after his quarterbacks sister. What he wasn't expecting was to actually fall hard for her. How can he prove to her that what started as revenge has turned into so much more.
This was such a wonderful sports love story, I highly recommend it.
