My boys loved this cute book! We are all about dogs and construction in our house so this was a perfect fit.
This book is adorable! A perfect board book for little hands, I know my two preschoolers will love this one.
A cute book about Dalmatians and the different noises he hears. Each noise is for a different machine driven by animals that start with the same first letter of the machine's name. The illustrations are fun and includes a fun little mouse friend of the Dalmatian character.
This was a cute children's story. I found it to be enjoyable.
Synopsis:
Dugger! Dugger! Digger! What’s that noise? It's the booming sound of big construction vehicles, and Little Dalmatian is determined to find out what they are building in this energetic picture book from Rebecca Elliott.
Review:
This is a great book for children, especially one that likes construction machines or animals. There are plenty of both in this book. It is cute how the children have to guess what is coming next, I really liked that. The story is cute and all the animals add a lot to the excitement. The illustrations were bright and colorful and were a big part of the story.
I would recommend this to parents who are looking for a fun book to read the children in their lives. This book would be a wonderful addition to a family library or any preschool.
I received a free copy of this book from NetGalley in exchange for a honest review. I would like to thank NetGalley and Capstone Young Readers for the opportunity to read and review this book.
This is a great book to use when teaching letter sounds. I appreciate the fun sounds that readers can imitate. It is easy to imagine a child reading along with the book.
Dugger, dugger, dugger! Little Dalmatian awakens to lots of noise outside his window. What could be making all that noise? The noise is new, and exciting, he must go outside and see what it is!
Dalmatian in a Digger, written and illustrated by Rebecca Elliot, is a fun, playful look at a construction site. Dalmatian hears lots of noises outside his window and goes outside to find a digger and other construction equipment. The text is lively and descriptive with lots of fun sounds. Children will love making the noises of the machines, and the illustrations are engaging. As a bonus, there is a tiny mouse throughout the book, and readers are encouraged to find him in every scene. This would be a fun read-aloud with children not yet reading, or those just learning to read. Best for ages 3 to 5 due to the simple subject matter and text.
Giggle Giggle, Smile...what's that noise? That noise is happiness coming from me when I read Dalmatian in a Digger. This book had me involved from the very beginning and I could see myself reading to a large group of children and everyone getting involved.
The book involves the reader as they guess who is making the noise on each machine, this was a wonderful surprise because I had thought it was only about the dalmatian. At the end of the book dalmatians little friend little mouse asks you to find her throughout the book, I have mixed feelings about whether this is the ideal spot for this information however it does give the reader the opportunity to go back and relive the story again with a different focus.
The illustrations were endearing, particularly the dalmatian eyes which had a childlike quality to them that made you love the character even more. In fact, each character had a special quality that were engaging to the reader.
The book is good for a variety of ages - babies can enjoy the pictures and 'noises'such as TUG TUG BEEP, toddlers can listen to the whole story and help you make machinery noises, preschoolers can not only help you read the story they can also use their discovery skills to find little mouse.
I have not had the pleasure of reading any child's book recently that is suitable for many ages which makes this a must have for me the library collection.
Outstanding.
