I hadn't read the rest of this series and when I requested it on NetGalley I had no idea it was part of a series (from what I can remember, I requested and reviewed this a while back..). I had also never read Greyson's work before and was curious. And I was in a time period romance/magical phase and this looked right up my alley.
The Sinclair clan is a group of very powerful witches who all have special skills and each find their way to love in various magical and witchy ways. Lila ends up in the thirteenth century via witchy grandmothery ways and is confronted with he destiny: Graham McTavish, a womanizing Highlander. Both have their reasons for not wanting to fall in love, but begin to against their wishes.
My Seductive Highlander was actually a very cute romance and I remember enjoying it very much. It was perhaps a stereotypical historical romance with some magic and neat time travel written into the mix. While not ground breaking, Greyson writes a mean piece of fiction that you can help but put down and it seems can still be memorable well after a read.
I loved how while this novel was stereotypical, it was somehow still fresh and enjoyable. I found myself wanting to read the rest of the series because each Sinclair woman still displayed a strong sense of self even though this was undoubtedly a Lila/Graham tale. Also, I was surprised to find some of the emotional turmoil to be heart-tuggers and couldn't help but want our main characters to have a happily ever after.
You might even learn a little Scottish history if you're woefully under educated in all things Scotland like I am. I was surprised to have read a romance and come out of it with a little bit of knowledge.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The character development was intriguing and all the characters sexy and complex. It was also a fun unique story.
I really liked Lilia and Graham's story. It was a nice change of pace to have someone come from the past into present times. I really like Graham from the other books in the series and I was happy to see he got his HEA. Lilia was a great match for him. This was a great conclusion to the series!

Lilia Sinclair is the last of the Sinclair sisters remaining in the twenty-first century. Her sisters and grandmother have made their homes in the 13th Century Highlands. Lilia’s future is not in the past, however. Like her sisters, Lilia has a special magical gift, and Lilia has often seen hers more as a curse. She is an empath with the ability to pick up on the feelings of those around her. She has learned to shield herself for the most part, and will not let herself get close to just anyone. She has two close friends who are very protective of her. When one of grandmother’s visions leads to her sending Graham MacTavish, once cursed in dragon form, forward into the present, Lilia is suspicious of the purpose. She is not going to go back with him no matter what he does to try and convince her. However, Graham has no intention of returning home. He knows that if he does, his life will be forfeit. He had gotten into a bit of trouble with the leader of another clan who wants his head. Graham is accompanied by Angus, who is a bit provides a bit of added comedy, intentionally or not, as the two Highlanders adjust to being in modern day Edinburgh. Graham has been sent to take his place by Lilia’s side and provide her emotional support, especially as Lilia’s longtime friend and caretaker is dying. Eliza has been with the family all their lives, her own history tied to the Sinclairs. She also happens to be a distant relative of Graham’s.
I loved that the three friends do Live Action Role Playing of medieval times. It especially seems fitting given Lilia’s background and family ties to that time period. She’s quite skilled on a horse and with a sword as Graham quickly discovers. I wasn’t sure I would like Graham at first given his history of womanizing (something I am not a fan of in my romance heroes), but he proved to be a pretty nice guy. I really liked Lilia. The two complement each other well.
Graham never expected to lose his heart to anyone, but he knows without doubt that he has met his soulmate when he comes across Lilia. Lilia is reluctant to open her heart to Graham, unsure whether she can trust him—and his motives. There is not much of a struggle in terms of the two finally coming together, which was kind of nice. The real conflict in the novel comes when Lilia decides to return to the 13th century to scatter Eliza’s ashes. Graham insists on going with her, despite the threat of death on his return. What follows is an intense few chapters as the danger level rises, hostages are taken, a chase ensues, and blood is spilled. Add to that an epilogue which had me tearing up. In some ways, this was probably my favorite in the series. From the characters, to the suspense, the comedy and the overall story line. It seems a fitting end to the series.
I know what to expect when I pick up one of the books in this series. The couples are fated to be together, and so that big spark or zing when they first touch and their immediate attraction and devotion to each other is something I know will come early on. I am not a huge fan of instalove, but I can overlook it from time to time. And while these books will likely never be five star books for me, there is just something about them that keeps me coming back. I like the world building and the time traveling, there’s always a dash of humor mixed in, not to mention Grandmother Sinclair is just a hoot. They are fun reads, and sometimes that’s exactly what I need.
This book started off very strong and interesting. The character development was not very strong, but that might be because I have only read this book and not the ones that came before it. So, for that reason I didn't consider that info as part of my review. The story had a lot of potential in my eyes and I really enjoyed the first half of the book. However, once I got to the second half I feel the story line started to struggle and was not developed. The ending of the book was very disappointing as everything was very rushed and jumped around. I would describe the end as the author was tired of writing the book and just figured it was time to quickly bring it to a close.
In the 4th and last book of the Highland Hearts series, My Seductive Highlander, we follow the story of the cursed and previously banished, Graham McTavish as he finds out what living and loving is truly about. I've read all the previous books in this series and this one is my 3rd favorite.
The storyline is very similar to the previous books. In this book, we read about the seductive beau, Graham MacTavish, who used to be a dragon banished to the Loch Ness. He's gained his freedom and now has developed a penchant for seducing other men's wives causing himself to get banished once more. In order to come back home, he must find and gain Lilia Sinclair's love. He agrees to the deal because he figures it will be easy, but one look at the fiery and headstrong Lilia sets Graham's heart aflame! Lilia, the last Sinclair sister has a gift that she deems a curse. She doesn't allow any man close to her heart for fear of what she may see. But, despite Lilia's well-built wall of ice, Graham scorches through it and there's nothing else they can do but fall into the deep abyss that is love. Granny's meddling has won again!
I adored reading about Graham, the ex-dragon, though I wish he would've kept his dragon powers. That would've been amazing...and hilarious to read about. With that said, this is the one book in the series that I thought could've been more in-depth with the characters. I didn't find myself as intensely intrigued as I thought I would, but I still enjoyed the story.
I would recommend romance readers give this series a try because it is entertaining.
There are so many elements to this story that I can't begin to describe what I like best.. Lila is an empath who is living in the 21st century with no desire to travel back to a Scotland that is in the midst of troubled times, no matter what. She has built up shields to protect her heart and to help with her visions. When Graham who has become such a playboy upon his release from the curse that kept him in his own prison is sent to the 21st century the rollercoaster ride begins. There is the element of humor as the guys try to navigate the future and Lila trying to ward off any attraction to Graham. Then there is the part where Graham has to prove to Lila that they are a great match or face his clan and his bad reputation in the past, and his death. A well thought out and well written story. Loved it.
Amazing conclusion to the Highland Hearts collection! Some of the story line wasn't completely believable (how they fell in love instantly), but I read for the enjoyment, not the reality, so I really enjoyed this book.
Lilia and Graham are the main characters in Maeve Greyson's final installment to her Highland Hearts series, and I'm here to say I found their story to be sorely lacking.
Graham is sent to the future to woo and marry Lilia, the final Sinclair sister. The attraction is immediate and their love is as deep as it is true, yada yada yada.... Same story we've heard from every other romance novel.
Maeve Greyson is such a talented author, and it really bothers me to give such a low rating to this story, especially since I enjoyed the other books in this series (I haven't managed to find Trulie's story yet, but I'm determined). There was so much that needed to be said in this book that wasn't.
Another thing that bothered me, Lilia and Graham having to stay in the 21st century! I loved the other sisters deciding to forego modern society and all of its perks for the loves of their lives. I wonder exactly how Graham is suppose to assimilate into modern Scotland....?
Last but not least, the epilogue infuriated me! I won't even go into details about it, but suffice it to say, the epilogue only raised more questions than it answered.
This was an interesting read, sort of an inverse historical romance as it's not someone going back in time, but coming forward into the present instead. Time travel and Scotland hold a place in my heart after reading Outlander but perhaps I should have read the previous books in this series instead of this one to get that same feel.
The characters were alright but nothing extraordinary. I didn't necessarily connect with either one, but I liked the ways that Lilia and Graham sort of reversed their roles through time. Graham is new to the present day so there's a lot of confusion going on there as he adapts to the modern age. Lilia, on the other hand, has an older feel to her. Not so much age but like she wasn't meant to fit just in our time, but another as well.
There must be a formula to historical romances set in Scotland. Even though this doesn't quite qualify as historical like the previous books, it followed the pattern of the two lovers disliking each other but attracted, growing closer over time. Someone is after someone else, there's a rescue, all that.
Though I did find the matchmaking Granny amusing, manipulating time to pair the couples up.
For those, like me, who haven't read the previous books in this series, there are some tie-ins with the previous characters featured but it didn't make it too difficult to understand the story but I have no doubt that reading the other installments would help in understanding the current situation in this book.
My Seductive Highlander was certainly different from the usual romances I've read in that it contained a hint of supernatural elements while drawing on the feel of a historical romance. I'd recommend it but only after reading the previous books. You don't have to but I think it'll make a better reading experience.
I have been a big fan of this series, but Lilia is my favorite sister! Such a warrior! Of course, the fact that Graham admires and accepts her independence makes him loved as well. You never know which one will do the rescuing and that makes it perfect for fans who want heroines equal to their alpha heroes. Wonderful ending to an addictive series!
Graham was caught in bed with a rival laird’s - Buchanan - wife and mistress. Graham was to be exiled from Scotland or executed he was sent to the future if he didn’t fulfill his mission he would be brought back and killed. So graham had to go to the twenty first century from the thirteenth and find Lilia and make her fall in love with him. Marry her and make her happy. Her granny had a vision that graham would be her husband. Lilia lives in the twenty first century but her sisters live in the thirteenth even her twin Mairi. Lilia has prophetic visions and usually it’s bad news. She has to bear what the visions show her except telling her two friends who don’t really believe her but still support her. Granny and Mairi were worried about Lilia as the woman- Eliza MacTavish- who had been watching over Lilia is dying from cancer and is in hospice. Lilia can also read people’s true feelings and can feel what they really feel. Graham is to marry the old pagan way blood mixing blood. The Sinclaire women are time runners so they can go to any period of time. Lilia is part owner of a natural beauty company . then Lilia finds out her partner is embezzling the company and has him put in jail. Then her two closest friends Vivienne and Alberto become her partners.
I enjoyed this story a lot. At times it choked me up and brought tears to my eyes and it also had it’s humorous parts. I applaud the author good writing when a story pulls out my emotions. At times this story was slow moving. Usually don’t like time travel stories but I really enjoyed this one. I really liked Lilia’s character. I like how her friends supported her even if they didn’t believe she really had real visions. It had a good plot although Graham was quite the player in the beginning of this story. I was glad he changed and did as he had to do to stay alive. But was it such a chore for him? I don’t really think so. Funny had he reacted in the twenty first century. I liked the characters a lot and loved the ins and outs of this story and I recommend.
Normally I love a good Scot, but there was just something so unappealing about this book as a whole. I never really connected to any characters and the Aye and Dinna and Lass just bothered me in the frequency.
