Jennifer Probst finished off her Searching For Disaster series with this amazing novella. This second chance romance was real, raw and emotional, with a sweet love story. I hate that this is the end of this groups story. I could have read on and on.

Veena’s review of Searching For Disaster (Searching for…, Book 5) by Jennifer Probst
Contemporary Romance published by Pocket Books 10 Oct 16

This has been great series and I am sorry to see it come to an end. I’m glad that Izzy and Devine got to be main characters in their very own romance after being such a great supporting cast. Their story skillfully mixes fun and laughter with grit and tears to deliver a strong emotional punch.

The story opens with a night six years ago when Isabella and William met at a college frat party. A wonderful night of passion ended in a choice. Izzy chose the small packet of white powder over exploring future possibilities with a young man heading to the police academy. Fast forward to today where an older and wiser Izzy has learned what’s it like to touch rock bottom and be scared of being sucked under. Does she truly deserve to find happiness? But, more important, even though she’s been two years sober, can she trust herself not to slip back into the abyss?

Surrounded by friends and family who exude happiness, she’s reminded of the perfect passion from that night six years ago. As it turns out, neither has Liam, now known as Devine, forgotten that unforgettable night. He comes into Kinnections looking to fill the restlessness that he’s experiencing and perhaps create some perfect moments of happiness. Cosmic coincidence or magic?

Liam pulls out all the stops to get Izzy to commit to dinner with him, but, even as she feels the chemistry, she resists the pull until two puppies at the dog shelter get under her defenses. The scene at the dog shelter is adorable as they both start off so sure of what they want and leave with the exact opposite, followed by the disaster the next day. I’m surprised that Izzy still continues to resist the day after she comes over to Liam’s with her new puppy.

Balancing these absolutely fun moments in the story are the ones where Izzy fights her agonizing fear and guilt. Her conversation with her father is so insightful and heart wrenching. All the other characters are present and accounted for and make a great supporting cast. I’m sorry to bid the world of Kinnections and the town of Verily goodbye, but at the same time can’t wait to see where Ms. Probst will venture next.

If you are in the mood for some second chance romance, do not pass this story up! It is easily going on my list as a top favorite. I fell in love with Liam and Izzy right from the start and couldn't get enough of them.

They met 6 years ago and had an instant, smoking hot connection. However, the odds were against them and they went their separate ways. Little do they know, but earth mother is ready for them to finally get the chance to be together.

I loved Liam and Izzy's journey. I enjoyed reading about what happened between the first time they met and now. They each had so much to offer the other, but were scared to make that leap of faith. I couldn't wait for them to get their much deserved HEA.

The author did a wonderful job of finishing the series while incorporating the other characters in as well. I loved reconnecting with everyone while getting a great love story between Liam and Izzy. After this, I think I need to go back and re-experience the other stories again. Great job Jennifer, I can't wait to see what you have in store for us next!
