This book was great! I enjoyed every minute of it. Holding on Tighter had a little bit of everything: Romance, Mystery, Intrigue, tortured souls finding their way to the light and most of all hope. The sex wasn't bad either. If someone is looking for something light but fulfilling at the end then I would definitely recommend this book.

This series never gets old. Ms. Black has done it again. Heath and Jolie's story is everything I love in a story. Our hero is a little damaged from the loss of his wife in a tragic way 6 years ago. He feels helpless since he couldn't save her and doesn't really live any more, he just exists. Jolie is married to her job. She doesn't have time for dating or men in general. She is a tough lady who runs a million dollar business and has a heart of gold. It doesn't take Heath and Jolie long to give into the heat that burns between them. When Jolie's life is threatened, Heath will do whatever it takes to protect her. He can't lose her like he lost his first wife. I was on the edge of my seat for the last half of the book. I loved the suspense and the ride I was on. The climax of the story brought me to tears as I was completely in the moment of Heath and Jolie's love. Loved this story.

I loved at the end, how we got to catch up with all of the couples from the series. Such a great read.

Shayla Black brings another page turning romance to her Wicked Lovers series. I fell in love with this series from the very first book and have been a devoted reader every since. I was very happy with the steamy romance and suspense in Heath and Jolie's story.

This series has never given us a couple who needed each other as much as Heath and Jolie. Their hearts had been scarred by tragedy before and they were determined to never invest their hearts again. So from the beginning the romance was an uphill climb with a few miscommunications and a danger from Heath's past that muddied the water along the way.

As usual, the writing was excellent. The characters, even the promising secondary ones, immediately caught my attention and the thrilling suspense kept me guessing until the end.

This book was a splendid read.

When I got approved for this book I was SO excited. First Berkley NEVER approves me for ANYTHING...and probably never will again now...sigh. (I seriously think someone in their promo department made a mistake) and second I LOVE Miz Black and this series. Unfortunately, my joy was short-lived...

This book was rough right from the beginning. I don't mind OW sex scenes, but I do mind when a heroine sees the hero with the OW and knows they have JUST had sex. And when did Miz Black start with OW sex scenes in her books??

Anyways, Heath was seriously nasty, he was coming on to the heroine and telling her he was coming for her MINUTES after having his dick stuck in an OW in the hallway of a bar. Literally, they were standing RIGHT outside the bar and he was putting the moves on her. Now I could have gotten past that had it not been for the fact that he and the heroine are having sex a couple hours after he JUST has sex with the OW. At least he showered first, but honestly...NO.

AND his sex with the OW is constantly brought up for the first 25% of the book. Add in the fact he JUST lost his wife 7 years previously. AND she is mentioned ad nauseum (as is his manwhore past..I mean we could literally not have a sex scene that wasn't compared to either his wife or one of his plethora of hookups). AND he was in love with a heroine from a previous book. I wanted to call it a day 25% into this thing.

On top of that, I found the heroine annoying as hell. Why can't authors write strong heroines without them coming off like uptight bitches?

That said I was determined to give this the ol college try. So I kept reading and although I got sucked more into the story about the stalker (Miz Black knows how to write a great book) it just never recovered enough from the beginning to make it a wholly enjoyable read. To say I was disappointed is an understatement.

Side Not: That epilogue hurt my brain. Seriously? Could we possibly have name dropped any more characters from previous books? What exactly was the point of having Cutter introduced to EVERY couple from the previous books? It was like the ending of an episode of The Waltons where everyone is saying "GOOD NIGHT" to John Boy!

A worthy addition to this series. Some books have been 3 stars and other 4 stars. I gave this one 4 stars on Goodreads -- no review.

Holding on Tighter is a great story, Jolie and Heath are amazing characters and although this series has come to an end it started amazingly and has finished the same way. Well Done Shayla Black I look forward to seeing where you take us next.

Shayla Black has done it again. I loved the story of Heath Powell and Jolie Quinn. Heath still struggling with the loss of his first wife isn't ready for the feelings Jolie brings out in him. That, however, does not stop him from going after her and making her his. His alpha strong personality clashes with Jolie's because in her experience men are not to be trusted. She is used to being independent and doing things on her own. She has cared for her mother and siblings since she was younger and that has shaped her into the woman she is. She is focused on expanding her business and cementing her future. She does not have time for a relationship or romance.

When her sister and business are threatened she has no choice but to allow Heath to do his job and in the process explore the attraction they both feel. When the threats seem to escalate Heath is determined to find out who is behind them and why. He does not want to feel the guilt he felt after his first wife's tragic death.

This book has everything you have come to expect from Shayla Black intrigue, suspense, and a hot and steamy romance.

This is the 12th book in the Wicked Lovers Series and it's just as thrilling as the others. Rising fashion star Jolie Quinn is used to be in charge and doing things her way and has no intention of letting anything get in her way of succeeding. Her gorgeous British security contractor may slow things down.

Heath Powell has a tragic past that keeps him unattached. But working for Jolie becomes more of a challenge then he anticipated. Working together becomes rewarding and opens their hearts to new hopes.

Knowing that a well loved series is coming to an end, can leave you with an empty hole in your stomach. Holding On Tighter is an exceptional end to the Wicked series, filled with deceit, action, twists and turns, and a romance that most could only ever hope to achieve. Shayla Black's books are those that I will automatically one click, this is no exception. Don't miss out on getting to know Heath and Jolie, and experience their once in a lifetime romance.

Heath and Jolie are not a perfect, or even particularly imaginable fit at the beginning of HOLDING ON TIGHTER; but by the end their relationship is endearing and quite heartwarming. To get over his past and find new love, Heath needs to overcome the obstacle of moving on from the death of his wife. An unlikely murderer threatens the new romance, but in the end love conquers all. The pair wind up being two of the stronger leads in the series to date.

HOLDING ON TIGHTER did not seem to be as fast paced as previous titles in the series, and the alpha sex scenes were much tame; but it was still a great read due to the interesting plotline. The regular reader of the series will enjoy catching up with all of the other couple in the epilogue of the story. It turned out to be a great way to refresh the memory; to recall the past leads, and meet the new children who have joined the “Wicked Lovers” family over the years.

HOLDING ON TIGHTER is book 12 in Shayla Black's long running “Wicked Lovers” series. While various leads from previous books are present in several scenes; there is nothing that prevents this from being read standalone.

Dear Lord can Shayla Black write a story! I mean seriously! Her words, characters, plots just pull you in and don’t let go! This is the 12th book in her Wicked Lovers Series, but you can read this as a standalone - but trust me, you’ll want to read the entire series. Every single book is AMAZING!

Holding On Tighter will have you holding on tight to this incredibly addictive story! I WANT this on paperback because Heath blew me out of the freaking water, with his sexy domination and his incredible accent and just the confidant way he does everything! Jolie is one hell of a great reason too for loving this story. Her take charge attitude in the office and the way she speaks her mind and how she has this attitude that makes you think she is badass is just too appealing. I loved her and Heath and how she submitted to Heath but man, that submission only lasted IN the bedroom. And the inner fight she made while submitting just made the way she did it the more sweeter. I loved the incredible tension and the delicious sizzle with every wicked intimate moment between Jolie and Heath. And the action kept me on my toes and had me biting my nails throughout the story..and I thought I gave up biting my nails too!

Shayla Black's Wicked Lover series has been a favorite of mine since Wicked Ties but this one is just...more special and tempting and so darn HOT. I could not put this down and I want another book...LIKE NOW! Miss Black writes pure perfection. Her plots, her storylines, her characters, her romances and definitely the way she writes sex, makes it impossible not to want to buy her books. I want to write how much I loved Holding On Tighter on a billboard sign for the WHOLE WORLD TO SEE! Seriously, this is the reason why I keep coming back for more with Miss Shayla Black.
