Laugh out loud funny. Angel is a total bad ass and she is definitely a heroine to love.
This fast-paced urban fantasy read is a breath of fresh air in the genre. Unique, witty, and captivating. I couldn't put it down.

Yeah, I loved reading these books! So much happens, like the Saberton Corporation, and learning more about zombies, and relationship ups and downs! Angel grows as a person, and accomplishes a lot! But she always fights dirty!

The attitude that a lot of the humans in the know had about zombies, that they were basically second class citizens, that was just awful! What they did to Kyle, oh, man, that was just pure torture, and just reinforces the fact that they're the bad guys!

Angel and Marcus's relationship has a lot of hurtles. Mainly, the same one over and over again, because he didn't learn. He made decisions without consulting her, and even though he tried to be better, in the end, he just made one too many in the whole "I got into college and we're moving to New Orleans" even though she didn't know he was applying for schools. Just, no. I'm glad that they parted romantic ways amicably!

That this is the majority of the series, well, we met a lot more characters! Like, Heather who was Julia but became Naomi. Dr Nikas, who was just adorable, and Pietro. We also learn more about the world, how the parasite that isn't a parasite works, and about mature zombies. So fascinating to read!

Honestly, Gone Wild was hard for me to read. Going in, knowing that she was falling back into her addictions but with mods? It's hard to sit back and be unable to do anything while people you like make bad choices! It's not like she dealt with her human addictions, she just couldn't have them anymore, they didn't have the affect that they usually had, and she didn't have a craving for them. But she has to deal with it now, in this book, and it was hard to watch her go on a downward spiral, after all the work she's put in, like getting her GED. Yeah. But there were a lot of discoveries, too, like Nick and Allen. There was just a ton going on!

Unchained, starts in a good place, she's healed and ready to get back into things. Then it turns out the events of the last book are having some pretty severe consequences, in the shamblers, and zombie alligators. So there were 3 parts Angel beating herself up, 2 parts running around trying to find a cure, and 1 part everything else! Like, Nick, the FBI, and college. There was so much going on, and it was so great to read!

We finally finish her story arc with her arch-nemesis, Dr. Charish! After everything that Charish did in the past 5 books, from having her father kidnapped so to trade him with Angel, to the lengths that she went to become immortal and wipe out zombies, well, she got what was coming to her, and I think it's poetic justice that not only is her research helping zombies, but that a zombie took over her life!

I'm really satisfied with the ending of Unchained. The loose threads are basically tied up, everybody is happy, there's more progress with the heads from the first book. And Angel and Nick are together! Yeah! So if there's more books, yeah, more time with these characters! If not, yeah, the series had a good ending!

Loved these books so much, and yeah, happy whether this is the end of the series or if we get more books!

Okay I'll admit - wanted to read this book for its uniquely awesome cover!

I haven't read any of the previous books in the series but I dove right in anyways. I really enjoyed it and decided that it would be worth going back and reading the others in the series to get caught up. (I'm a little backwards but it's totally okay!) You won't be too lost reading this one first if you happen to be like me.

It's action packed and totally different from the typical "zombie" novel out there. If you're looking for a series to get totally invested into this is it!

So, the first thing you have to ask yourself is why would a person want to read a series about a white trash zombie? Personally, I was a bit skeptical when I first started reading the White Trash Zombie series, but I have to say not only was I hooked from the very first chapter, the more important answer is BECAUSE THEY ARE PURE FUN!

In her White Trash Zombie series, Rowland has created an endearing protagonist with an interesting cast of characters to surround her in her journey through zombiehood. Of course, the books are not just about being a zombie, they are also about the struggles of believing in oneself, working hard, overcoming obstacles in life and ultimately succeeding, which brings a much more relatable connection to these books as opposed to the overall zombie motif.

On top of creating more relatable characters, these books are also highly addicting. In fact, as mentioned above, Diana Rowland’s writing reeled me in from the very beginning, in part, because the characters are likable and endearing, in part because of the witty and engaging dialog, and in part of the fast-paced action that ultimately drives the book.

In White Trash Zombie Unchained, Rowland sets in motion a new series of events that has drastic ramifications to the overall plot in the White Trash Zombie series. Characters that were once thought dead will be brought back into the fold, new zombie traits and tricks are learned, and even love is in the air with relationships blossoming among our cast of characters.

All in all, White Trash Zombie is a great addition to the White Trash Zombie series. It is an easy to read, fast paced book that it filled with likable characters, and more action than you can shake a stick at. While I would recommend reading the other books in the series first, there is no doubt that this book and the other books in the series are pure fun!

If you haven’t heard of it before, the White Trash Zombie series follows Angel Crawford. She starts out as a drug-addicted high school drop out until one day she is turned into a zombie and finds herself working in the county morgue. Fast forward six books and we have a totally different Angel. She’s been through a lot. Has spent some time rotting and then recuperating. Now she is out in the world again, ready to get back to work and school. Unfortunately, things start to go out of control right from the minute she is finally able to leave the Tribe’s lab.

There is a new kind of zombie in town, Angel calls shamblers. Angel believes that something that she did in a previous book is what started this epidemic and works like crazy to figure out how to fix it.

I love Angel. She is funny and quick-witted. However, she is very down on herself. It was so great to see how, despite her part in the shambler epidemic, she grows into herself. She starts to see how valuable she is as a person. She’s been through a lot and has played big parts in solving mysteries and crimes against zombies. It’s about time she saw her true worth.

I was so frustrated, along with Angel, when the Tribe turns to someone they should know better not to trust. Eyes are kept on this person, but their involvement reaches even farther than originally thought. Angel doesn’t hold back and her treatment of this person had me yelling a good “Hell yeah”. Angel must be the queen of comebacks!

The connection that Angel plays with the shamblers is really interesting. They respond to her in unexpected ways and she is pretty much treated as a zombie mama with them. I love how protective she gets, especially with the infected gators. There is definitely a tie between the infected and Angel.

I had an amazing time with this book. I laughed out loud too many times to count and may have even been a bit sad at one point. There are a lot of interesting developments throughout the book. New zombie supporters, Chang surprises. It was just so much fun.

I listen to this series because I believe Allison McLemore narrates this like a boss. She is totally Angel and gets her sarcasm and accent right on point. She is totally the icing on this amazing book!

This was a GREAT story and once again we see Angel trying to be all things to all people. This Angel is a far cry from the one we met in book 1 and has started to make herself into a real example of how to remake yourself into a better person .... even if she is kinda dead.

We have great moments from "The Great Frog Escape" to actual "Save The World" plots and I loved them all and the way she uses all her characters and you feel like you know them all.

The mix of humor and serious plots make these books exceptional when you consider the heroes/heroines in these books are mostly zombies (the brain eating is kept to a minimum in this book).

I am concerned that this has all the markings of a final book in the series, seems all loose ends are tied up and some HEA along the way for more than 1 of the characters but if it is then we went out with a exceptional book, 5 Stars and hope to see more of Angel.

Rowland hooked me from the start on this series, and its been a fantastic ride! Incredible worldbuiding, characters to 'die' for, and the best part? Get my customer hooked on one, and they come back for more with no prodding! Fantastic!

This is book six in the White Trash Zombie series, and is just as corny and full of "white trash" retorts as the first five. Throw in a rampaging plague affecting everyone, the race for a cure, and, yes for real, pet alligators, Angel is coming around to save the day again....

I consider this a great, fun read, as I did the others. Went through it pretty quick. Kept my attention, though doesn't goes overboard on character depth, which helps make it seem more funny for me. Would recommend this book for those that read for entertainment.

I read the first of these years ago, and, while it was entertaining, had no real desire to read any sequels. Huge Mistake! White Yrash Zombie Unchained is awesome! Now I need to go get the rest of the series!

One of the things I have to admit upfront is I like the covers of these books, but I’ve also been afraid people might be turned off by them. However, I’m here to tell you, don’t be. This is a very well-written, fun, excellent series. Here we are at the sixth book, and it’s still going strong. I have so much respect for the main character Angel, because she has been through so much, and has grown so much, as this book demonstrates. There is a new type of zombie in town, and she feels responsible for their creation. And, as she has come to demonstrate, she will throw herself in the way of danger to fix mistakes she feels responsible for. The regular cast of characters is present in this book, and I love each and every one of them. Ms. Rowland ably demonstrates what an excellent storyteller she is in this wonderful installment of the series. Her great descriptions, her way with making you feel so much, and the way she makes everything feels so fresh and new are all present in this book. If you haven’t read this series, you can start with this one. However, I do recommend you start at the beginning just see how far Angel has come. And, please, don’t let the fact that zombies are in the books turn you off; I don’t like zombies at all, and I love this series so much. If you are a fan of this series, you will cheer Angel on, love it, and hope that this isn’t the last one (it sort of felt like it, but I don’t want to give away spoilers). Highly recommend! Sweet Baby Zombie Angel Grows Up
Angel, is walking that relationship line not knowing where things are going or not. Rotting away may have ruined her chance for love forever. Rotting flesh tends to muck love up, it's true. Let's stay on romance here for a minute. There was a scene that was all hopeful smoochy and then it went all Uuug Eeeerg uggggg and the moment was lost ! Way to kill a smexy moment Ms. Rowland.
There seems to be an outbreak of "B" movie zombie types all around town. The source of this new cheesy zombie might be Angel. These moaning shamblers are not reacting well to brains or other treatments, they are dying. Angel and her tribe of civilized zombie race for a cure, even if they must call on an enemy for help. Believe me when I tell you they called on the Bitchzilla Deluxe. HATE HER.
Angel is forced to step out of her comfy eating brain chips on the couch mode and go out and mess up, a little. She makes new friends, cold bloodied ones that almost steal the book from her. There is a scene where she swims in the swamp, ewww yuck. You know nothing good happened in those muddy waters. Bad, bad and more bad, piles onto the mountain of crap to deal with.
Omg this book was fun. The ending was most excellent. it was all cross. cross, cross dressing to the extreme. I was up on my feet cheering, it was so good. I'm chuckling now, thinking about it. Oh the next book, I can't wait.

Zombies are real and Angel Crawford knows because she is one. Angel is such a great characters. I have watched her change from someone who was a loser to someone who works at her job, got her GED and is now going to community college. This time she is trying to stop a epidemic of strange zombies who are the mindless killing kind. What is fun is watching Angel take care of the people around her as she offers new views into what is happening and how to find a cure. She also ends up with some very interesting pets. This series just keeps getting better and better. According to Rowland's web site this could be the last book in the series but I hope I get to visit with Angel in future books.

Nothing like jumping into a series 6 in, but I did the swan dive right into the swamp didn’t feel like I was treading water to try and keep up. What do you know, I’ve discovered a series that is worth heading back to the beginning and really exploring this Rowland’s world building. I also have to ask myself, Why didn’t I start this series soon? Oh, yeah, I normally stay away from all things Zombie…but here I am enjoying the heck out of the snark, banter and Angel Crawford, zombie extraordinaire. I just want to thank all those fans that finally convinced me to take the plunge. That being said, I found it fun, fascinating and extremely entertaining. White Trash Zombie Unchained was nothing like I expected and a solid 4.5 stars read! Take it from an anti-zombie, urban fantasy fanatic, Rowland’s creativity, imagination and humor is something you really need to check out.

Okay, so here’s the truth. I picked up the very first White Trash Zombie book because I liked the cover. Yes, I am that person who picks a book based on the cover.

I am so glad I did.

This is one of my all-time favorite series. And I hate (like all caps HATE) sentient zombies. But I love Angel and I love this series. I don’t think you need to read the prior books in order to enjoy this one. The author gives you what you need to know without boring devoted fans.

Now, in ‘Unchained’, we actually get some more traditional zombies. Shamblers. Mindless, hungry, TWD kind of zombies. And the reason behind it is devastating.

Expect to tear up, to worry about some of your favorite characters, and, of course, expect some serious butt-kicking, Angel-Style revenge. Brains will be eaten, rampant destruction will happen, and you’ll enjoy every page of it.

And then there’s Tupac & Biggie – the sweetest new characters in the series. Just wait for them…

Angel is back in the 6th installment in the White Trash Zombie series. This time she's up to her eyeballs with mindless zombies. I love the evolution of Angel in this series. She's overcome a lot to become this strong, fearless zombie. And 5+ stars to Diana Rowland for making me love and believe in Zombies! Action packed with all the humor and romance that I've come to expect from this series. Hands down my favorite installment yet!
