Love-filled romantic suspense…

I admit it. The Archer brothers weaved their magic so it was bittersweet to open this third, and last, in the trilogy. This was different than the others, they’ve all stood alone in the storylines, however the love and mystery, the suspense, was back….

Luke and Bella had history and it was fun to watch them fall in love again as more mature adults. Their memories were sweet but they were making new ones, in the shadow of a terrorist threat. It was no holds barred on both fronts which made for an exciting and emotion-filled read…
The author hinted there may be more Austin Heroes – I look forward to it!

I enjoyed the second chance at romance aspect, and I liked the suspense with the whole terrorists on the loose thing. The connection between Luke and Bella didn’t quite draw me in, but it was sweet. She was trying to act so unaffected by him, so maybe that’s why the connection felt off. It does get better as the story goes on and they do have some heat between them. Just wanted a bit more depth. There was too much filler; especially the political stuff, which just slowed the story down for me. Enjoyed the action parts though. Overall, an entertaining story.

Luke and Bella were HS sweethearts both received the same Dear John/Jane letter right when they were leaving for college. Now, years later they see each other again and the air is cleared, someone else wrote those letters. This is a second chance love story, with a subplot regarding illegal immigration.

Third story of Austin Heroes. Luke Archer, a homeland security agent in DC. Since his home town is in Austin area, he was assigned to a case near his home town. Now he is back in Austin tryin got solve border problem with terrorist connection. He was back in Austin for short amount of time and he sees his first love Bella Shaw. They were madly in love in high school and decided to go to same school in Florida but Bella’s mom got sick and she had to stay behind.. Until she received a letter from Luke...
Bella can never forget her first love Luke, he was her first for everything. He broke her heart when he didn’t even say good bye.. Now a successful lawyer and a senator in Austin. When she sees Luke after close to decade, she wanted to find out what happen to them back then so she could have her closure.
Both were drawn to each other but they need to understand what happen to them back then. When they find out they were separated by someone else. Now Luke thinks they will have another chance at their forever. Not as easy as it seems, they are both successful at their job but they will be apart if this case is closed. But they decided to enjoy every moment with each other until that day comes.
This has an interesting back story of his quirky grandmother and her love of her life. Grammy lost love her life when someone else meddle with her life as well.. She suffered many years of heartache and loneliness. It does give more story to what really happen to Bella and Luke.

It does have some immigration issue (which is hot topic now). I wouldn’t read too much into it. I did not agree to everything for both sides (I just have to remember this is fiction and genre is Romance) but I read more into Bella and Luke’s relationship instead of focusing on the issues.
Archer family had interesting dynamics and it was fun to read all of the books. All the brothers found their HEA and it was good enough for me.

It was an ok story. There was nothing really exciting about it. It was a quick fun read though it was pretty predicatable.

Another Archer man falls for the girl. Luke and Bella’s story was about reuniting with a first love. And, as it turns out, Grammy did the same. After parental interference tore them apart, both couples found each other again.

Nothing particularly memorable about this story - the drama and suspense were fairly predictable, the romance had very little bumps in the road.
