First time author Michael Goorjian draws upon his background in movie-making to create a vivid and mysterious tale that stays with the reader long after the book is finished. While the allegorical aspects of the novel occasionally take precedence over sympathetic character development, Goorjian offers his readers much to think about and knows how to tell an engaging story. This is presented as the first volume in a trilogy, and it will be interesting to see where Adam Sheppard's tale is going.
