Classic R.L.Stine. If you like the old Fear Street books (and I did'), then you'll be a fan of this one as well.

I put this one down about 5-10% into the book. I used to love the Fear Street novels when I was in my early teens, but I think now I'm just way past that, and this writing style no longer appeals to me. That's not to say other people won't enjoy these books, I know that I certainly did in the past. Just not for me anymore.

Stine is know for his suspenseful series. Not quite a throwback to his fear street series which I loved as a child. Enjoyable easy read but ever formulaic and predictable.

I was tickled pink when I saw this book request. Of course like most 90's kids RL Stine was life! From Goosebumps books to Fear street you could never go wrong with one of his books.

and Mr. Stine was no let down this time either!

At her old school she was the best cheerleader on the squad and is hoping to make the Shadyside High Cheerleading team. For some reason everything seems to be going wrong and she is certain one of the other cheerleaders is out to get her! Heather is certain one of the cheerleaders are out to get her. To make sure her fresh start at this new school is terrible. First she was cheated out of a spot on the squad, now all these horrible things are happening to her but why?!

when kids start getting hurt and murdered heather is stopping it nothing to find out who and why.

BUT.... then the PLOT twist shows up at the end

BOOM in your face.... NOT expecting that....

LOVED the ending!

I read the first three books of the series and I found them not as good as the originals, or maybe I am getting to old. I am not going to read any more in this series.

Having been a fan of R.L. Stine for as long as I can remember(seriously, I've watched and read Goosebumps since I was in Elementary school), I couldn't wait to read this book! I have to say, it didn't disappoint. The cheerleaders of Shadyside High are back in this deadly read that keeps you reading well after you should be asleep so you can see where the book leads. I absolutely loved it! Was a super fun read over Halloween, but one that I think will be great year-round(because I TOTALLY watch Goosebumps on Netflix year-round #noshame). if you're a Stine fan, you will love this latest book. Only problem? As always, it leaves you wanting more.

Not my type of book, I tried to start it but just couldn't get into anything about this book!

R.L. Stone is amazing!! I have been a fan of his for a long time and was so exited to see this book! We end up back on good old Fear street and it is like we never left. This book is very reminiscent of R.L. Stines previous works and had a very nostalgic feeling to it. It is good to know that this is not related to the Fear Street Cheerleaders series or the evil spirit surrounding them. This had a great story line with lots of twists that will keep you guessing until the end!!

Like any kid who grew up in the 90s, I grew up with R.L. Stine being a well known name. I was massive fan of many of his series, so jumped at the chance to review the newest Fear Street novel. I had high hopes for this book.

True to form this book drops you straight into the situation. As with many of his works, you’re following the story of a teenage girl in a new situation. In this case, new town, new school, new everything.

However, this is not one of Stine’s best works. I loved that it was short and didn’t go on a tangent too much, but in places I kept getting bored. In other places it felt dragged out. I don’t know if it’s simply because I’m not a young teen anymore, or if it’s because Stine is getting on, but this one just wasn’t as good as many of his works.

Overall I did enjoy it though, so it’s not a waste of time to read.

I have read most of the Fear Street books. I know there can be rather predictable. Anyone who lives on Fear Street is pretty much cursed. I kind of had some of the things that happened in this book figured out early on but the ending totally blew me away. It was a nice twist. I did think it was kind of odd that Heather immediately started falling for someone else's boyfriend. I know high schoolers can be bad about stealing the significant others of their friends but this seemed super sudden. Glad it ended the way it did though.

Had some issues with the way the book was formatted for early reading but I got past them so I could finish the book.

I loved this book, it was very well paced and kept me hooked. I read this in less than a day's time and did not want to put it down.

In this installment of Fear Street we meet Gretchen the new girl at school who wants to get on the cheerleading squad. Something about cheerleaders always lends to the perfect scary story. Sadly she starts to get terrorized by the local 'Rich Girl' who wants that same open spot on the cheerleading squad. Soon Gretchen is facing one scary event after another, including a death or two, and trying to figure out who is really behind it all.

There were a couple things that made me roll my eyes but it was more "That couldn't really happen but d**n that was harsh" I think that actually made me love the book that much more.

I highly suggest this book for everyone, adult or young adult, it's just so packed full of everything.

Fun read! R. L. Stine will always hold a special place in my heart. He is how I learned the love of reading! Does the end hint at a sequel?????

I grew up reading R.L. Stine books. These were my murder mystery and suspense books before I discovered Lisa Gardner and so many more authors in the suspense, thriller categories. So when I saw R.L. Stine was releasing another new book I jumped. It was like taking a leap back to middle school and high school. Trying to figure out who was the guilty party was some of my favorite past times. So Give Me A K-I-L-L was a must read.

The story centers around Heather Wyatt as she tries to find her fit on her new schools cheerleading squat even as weird things keep happening to her, one of the cheerleaders clearly despises her, and people start dying around her. While the writing is a bit more juvenile-based for the young reader, I still found myself wanting to know who did it and trying to piece together the information. I did guess the guilty party about half way through, and I like to be surprised, but I will still happy about how the story played out. Stine kept us guessing each and every step of the way.

One of the things Give Me A K-I-L-L made me love is all the backup characters. Heather may have been the focal point, but all these other characters definitely made the story more interesting and added personality differences so every reader had someone to relate to. Authors, like Stine, who can bring in the reader and make them feel more integrated with the story are definitely my favorites.

If you've ever read and R.L. Stine book and feel a bit nostalgic or you just want an easy, yet entertaining read, definitely pick up Give Me A K-I-L-L out now everywhere. I recommend it and all the previous books Stine had released as well. There is something for everyone.

Gretchen just moved onto Fear Street... poor, poor Gretchen. Lol. At Shadyside High, Gretchen wants to try out for the cheerleading squad where there is only one spot open. She is up against the mean, rich girl Devra Dalby. But someone is out to get Gretchen. Could Devra actually be trying to stop her from stealing her spot on the team? But Gretchen won’t give up, even if she gets herself killed.

First of all, about this quote: “For the first time since the original series, R.L. Stine brings back his most beloved characters—the cheerleaders of Shadyside High.”

This is not related to the Fear Street Cheerleaders series or the evil spirit surrounding them. So if that’s what you were expecting, sorry. That is not what you’re gonna get here. I actually have not read the Fear Street Cheerleaders series (yet), so I didn’t have a problem with this. In fact, I thought this book was probably the best book in the Fear Street relaunch so far! Seriously, it was pretty great! The plot twists were insane, it was suspenseful, thrilling, action-packed, and full of mysteries.

I also loved the inclusion of Devra Dalby, who is somehow related to Reva Dalby from the Silent Night series. I only wish we were told how they were related though. So, I know Reva’s dad is Devra’s grandfather (Robert) and she mentioned her own dad (Daniel Dalby) having two brothers who help him run the stores. But I recall Reva only having one brother (Michael) so that is confusing. Unless Reva’s father remarried after the conclusion of the Silent Night trilogy. And then Reva has an uncle (Pam’s dad) whose name is Bill. And if you have not read the Silent Night series you are completely confused right now, lol.

But look, Silent Night is actually one of my favorite Fear Street series, so I wish it was clarified. I even drew out a family tree from the information we had! It didn’t go too well, but from what I gathered, Reva is Devra’s aunt... somehow.

My first impression of Gretchen was that she was extremely mean to her mother. I was a little worried that she was going to be unlikable, but not in the way that Reva was unlikable. However, the plot twist at the end totally made me understand why Gretchen was the way she was! It was insane! Speaking of plot twists, while I loved this book, one of the things that bugged me was that author reused some old plot twists from the Silent Night series! An if you have actually read that series, I’m sorry. The plot twists weren’t surprising because they had already happened once before!

One thing I am really enjoying about this relaunch is all the little Easter eggs we get. Like in this one, we see a little bit of Rachel Martin who was the main character in the first book in the relaunch, Party Games ! I love that!

The last line of the book felt a little cliffhanger-ish to me, making it seem like maybe there’s more to Gretchen’s story? Or maybe she just unstable and it’s just her... I don’t know, lol. But I wouldn’t mind if there was more to this because it was actually interesting!

Overall, I loved Give Me a K-I-L-L! It had a great, mysterious story, and had it not been for the fact that I had already read the Silent Night series, those plot twists would’ve been great!

I can remember growing up reading R.L. Stine. I have read a couple books in this relaunch series. They were alright but they have not really brought back the warm fuzzes of my childhood. I thought I would try this book. It was pretty apparent right away that this book was written very childish. All of the cheerleaders annoyed me. I felt no connection with Gretchen. I tried to stick with this book in the hopes that it would get better. Yet, the more I read the more I did not like the book. After getting a third of the way into the book, I put it down and moved onto a different book. Not, sure I will be reading more books in this series.

Back to Shadyside High we go! I love R. L. Stine and all his books I am so glad he decided to write more Fear Street books. I loved this book just as much. Heather Wyatt just moved schools and she was a good cheerleader but when she moves into Shadyside it looks like there may not be room on the cheerleading squad for her. Boy, do the "claws" come out in this book! R. L. Stine books always make me excited to find out what will happen next and I always love reading to the end. As a fan of R.L. Stine's early Fear Street books, I was excited to return to the series. Give Me a K-I-L-L seemed to be the best book of the relaunch to start with as the cheerleaders were popular characters from the originals. However, I was disappointed with this novel. It started out with a promising premise, but as the chapters went on there was almost too much happening. Stine employs misdirection in many of his novels in order to keep the reader guessing, but it seemed in this novel every hint led up to the actual climax of the story. There were too many stories to keep up with here; these should have spread out in different books or written as a much longer novel.

Why is it called Fear Street? Gretchen is about to find out. If you’ve ever been a girl in high school, then you know that there’s nothing scarier than a rich, spoiled, cheerleader who will stop at nothing to get what she wants...

They’re back! I was so excited that the Shadyside High cheerleaders were getting a reboot, and I was not disappointed. As expected, R.L. Stine wove a tale of twists and terror. The book itself was a quick and easy read – I read it in nearly one sitting – and I found it very enjoyable. The book did feel rushed at times, but I would still highly recommend this book to any Fear Street fans.

It was similar to R.L. Stine's older Fear Street books, but not quite as good and more predictable. The Kindle ARC was very difficult to read - lots of typos and formatting errors.
