Another hit for Amy Sandas! The Untouchable Earl is amazingly soulful and fun! A whirlwind romance that comes with a price. Great plot, pace and dialogue with an amazing set of charcacters. I highly recommend.

I've been a huge fan of this series and this was another good installment. The sexual tension was off the charts between the two main characters, but I wanted to see more of an emotional connection. I also missed seeing the sisters interact. I am looking forward to more books by Amy Sandas.

Amy Sandas' second book in her Fallen Ladies series, The Untouchable Earl, is extensive in its emotion and creativity.

Lily Chadwick and Avenell Slade, The Earl of Harte both live on the fringe of polite society but each for their own reasons. Immediately drawn to each other ,their attraction is overwhelming. When Lily becomes the payment for her father’s sins her liberator is Harte, the man who has rejected her.

Beautifully carried out Ms. Sandas takes Harte's darkness and gives it shades. Lily who seemingly represents innocence dabbles with her curiosity as she is drawn to the very things that a debutante should shun. On edge both these characters explore boundaries even as they struggle with their desperation for acceptance from each other. This story was terrifically complex and provocative. Out of the ordinary subject matter made The Untouchable Earl an interesting read but this author's great writing made it a memorable one.

As the enigmatic hero and capable heroine of this tale embark on their destinies Amy Sandas's storytelling grabs and keeps the attention of her audience as their distinctive voices come to life on the pages of her book. The Untouchable Earl is a work that will leave a remarkable and lasting impression with readers!

Sandas (Luck Is No Lady, 2016) continues her bold and sexy Fallen Ladies series. Lily Chadwick is in the midst of her London season, and she and her sisters should be enjoying the many balls, musicales, and luncheons. Instead, in a crazed attempt to collect on the debt owed by her late father, she is abducted and sold in an auction at a brothel. The winner is the reclusive, mysterious Lord Avanell Harte, although he cannot enjoy intimacy due to an illness that makes every physical contact painful. He has outbid everyone purely to save her from suffering. But Lily is ready to shrug off the burdens of society and find passion on her own terms. Salas’ unusual plot poses the question, can a brazen yet loving touch dispel pain and fear?

I really loved this story! I loved that Avenell came to Lily's rescue at the brothel. It was the first sign that he wasn't the hard man that he portrayed to the rest on the Ton. As we get to know Avenell, we come to understand why he is the way he is and start to feel for him and his childhood. It just made me like him all the more.

Now Lily asking to become Avenell's mistress was a little far fetched to me, but I went with it and enjoyed the ride. The chemistry between them practically jumped off the page.

This was one of those series that I wish I could read back to back since they storylines over lap and I tend to forget what happened in the previous one. But I'm excited to read Portia's story in Lord of Lies which comes out in July.

I really enjoyed the first part of this book but after a while grew annoyed with the male lead as well as some of the plot points enough that I put the book down and never picked it up again, marking it as DNF.

Unfortunately, author Amy Sandas' latest novel, THE UNTOUCHABLE EARL, was a bit of a let down for me. Don't get me wrong, the story was really great, but I just couldn't get past the touch issue the hero had. Maybe I could if I understood more about people that experience this particular issue, but since it is not common for me, I felt that I just couldn't care for the hero as much as I would have liked.

My Review

This is the second book in the Fallen Ladies Series, I haven't read the first book Luck Is No Lady (Fallen Ladies Book 1) and there was no confusion whatsoever. I would say that The Untouchable Earl can easily be read as a standalone however after reading this book and getting to know Lily's sisters I would like to read Emma's story to see how everything came about.

There was instant chemistry between Avenell and Lily I definitely felt the connection that they shared. I was interested to see how things were going to play out in relation to Lord Harte's affliction and if it could be resolved. Avenell is a complex character that I definitely grew attached to and I really hoped that there would be a happy ending. Lily is a strong character who definitely knows her own mind. Although I did think that she rushed into things really quickly with Avenell. However after you get a glimpse of their attraction to each other then maybe it isn't all that surprising. I liked the fact that the person who puts her in the situation of being auctioned off was given a back story and it wasn't a clear cut situation of being an out and out bad guy. Although I have to admit he was pretty despicable for kidnapping Lily in the first place.

The story moved at a good pace and I enjoyed the plot of the family debt and also the back story of Lord Harte and how his troubles started. If you want to relax and read something light hearted to pass a couple of hours then The Untouchable Earl would be ideal!

Steamy with a dash of romance!

Three and a half stars from me!
