Such beautiful and moving poetry- loved every moment with this collection. Will recommend Lang Leav for years and years to come.
Unfortunately, with every new collection of poetry Leav publishes, I feel more and more unimpressed. Maybe I've just outgrown her.
Let's just get to it: I loved this book. When I've read many poetry collections recently, I find myself saying they don't measure up to the modern icons of short-form poetry, and I've been disappointed. This was not one of those. I liked that the structures of poems in this collections varied. I liked that they were almost all (I'd say 90% of them) about the ending or inevitable endings of relationships in one form or another, and I actually kind of love that in a poetry collection. It may seem cliche, but it feels relatable in a way that many other subject matters and poetry collections have not.
It was about love, but not. And I really dig that.
I definitely see myself recommending this book in this future, to a degree that I could recommend other books by this author just on the premise of my appreciation for this one.
I think I just came to this one at the wrong time. It felt too quick after her previous book, which I did like. Leav has something stronger than instagram poets, but I'm not sure I could name what it is.
Poetry is one of my favorite things. This was pretty good, it made me want to consume more of Lang Leav works .
I really enjoy reading poetry and have really been in the mood for it lately. I was happy to remember that I had this stashed on my kindle to devour. Which is exactly what I did, devour it. This collection of poetry is delightfully deep and evocative. It touches on subjects such as heartbreak, first loves, hope, and inner strength. Leav does a wonderful job of capturing each of those subjects and making you feel the coinciding emotions. I would definitely recommend this if you enjoy poetry and I hope to read more from her in the future.

Quick thoughts:
Well, on a seemingly positive note, The Universe of Us certainly exceeded my expectations.
Of how terribly awful this was going to be.
Everything Lang Leav writes feels like repeatedly regurgitated content: lines that have been consumed thousands of times over, but for some reason, this ""poet"" (take note of the use of double quotation marks) relentlessly continues to spit them out and shovel them back into our mouths over and over.
And. It. Is. Just. Painfully. Exhausting. To. Endure.
This was bad. Really, really bad.
If it isn't clear enough: I hated everything about this.

Lang Leav does is again with another beautiful and spellbinding master piece.
