For a long time I loved everything Tessa Bailey wrote, but lately I’ve either loved them or had issues with them and while I loved the first book in the Romancing the Clarkson’s series ,Too Wild To Tame didn’t work as well for me. It was an okay book, but not one I finished and was really excited about. To be honest I really didn’t care for either of the main characters all that much and so much of the plot just seemed contrived. The thing that saved this book for me was the interactions between the three Clarkson siblings and being that this is a romance, that shouldn’t have been my favorite part of this book.

Aaron Clarkson has one goal on his mind and that is to get to Iowa and prove he’s worthy of a job in the Pendleton campaign after he was forced out of his last job amid a scandal. On a crazy cross country trip with his siblings to fulfill their dead mother’s wish, his sister Rita had found love in New Mexico and would meet them in New York, but what he needed was a job…this job and he only had to find a way to get face to face with presidential hopeful Glen Pendleton. He just never expected to be a part of a crime Pendleton’s daughter, Grace perpetrated or to be more worried about Grace than himself.

Aaron and Grace were such opposites which led to a lot of strife for both of them. Aaron has always been the organized, straight laced, uptight politician’s aide and Grace is very much a free spirit, go with the flow artist type. There was no denying the pull between them or the absolute fireworks when they got physical. Both Aaron and Grace have some demons in their past and through this book, we see them both wrestle with them. I do believe they helped each other see things in a different light or at least offered up a different perspective, but I just didn’t feel the love growing between them. Lust, absolutely but love not so much.

I was happy to see Aaron confront his brother Belmont and begin to work through their issues and it was evident he and his sister Penny had a special bond. These were some of my favorite parts of this book. I’m also going to admit I am way more interested in what is going on between Belmont and Penny’s best friend, Sage, than I was in Aaron and Grace.

While I wouldn’t have missed this book for the glimpses into what is to come in this series, after the bang of job Ms. Bailey did on the first book of this series Too Hot To Handle, I was expecting more out of Too Wild To Tame.

So... If  you've never read anything by Tessa Bailey...

WHY THE HELL NOT... & .... BE READY FOR SERIOUSLY DIRTY TALKING HEROES!!!!
Now back to normal programming but damn if our hero, Aaron, isn't a buttoned up, seething, cold, annoyingly conflicted, dirty as hell talking man.  His heroine, Grace, isn't exactly the first person you'd expect would not only love this man but give him back as much heat as he provides her.  As you get to know Aaron you will see what Grace sees in him even as he struggles to see something other than what his ^%#^$&^%&$ biological sperm donor so effectively pounded in to his brain.  I found myself cheering for him as we got glimpses of who he really is and yet appreciated that Tessa did not give us an easy ride with him.  I enjoyed seeing how he was doing the right thing even as he claimed to be doing anything but good.  I have to say though the man had a way with words and admittedly needed a cold drink at times.

Grace is a heroine that will surprise you as you really get to know her.  The first impression is not what you'd expect but, like Aaron, there is something deeper that everyone needs to acknowledge... She's in some ways fragile but there is a steel spine hidden in the depths which gets tested repeatedly by the men in her life.  I loved the scene in the field with the rest of the girls and laughed like crazy as she lets Aaron in on what transpired.  Her willingness to put herself out there for Aaron made me wonder if I had that same strength in me to put myself out there for someone.  There is such a huge amount of work that she does to become who she is in the end and I appreciated that this was handled with a deft hand even as fast-paced as this book was.  She's definitely his match and this shines in their moments together.

I need to go back and read the first story in this series but CANNOT WAIT FOR BELMONT & SAGE!!!!  They are going to probably do a combination of break my heart and make me have to break out a fan... there is some amazing chemistry happening that leaps off the page as you see them together.  So join me for the ride to their story...

This book was not enough plot and too much sex for me. Which is how I've been feeling about most of this author's stuff anymore :(

Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this title. Unfortunately, I have lost interest in the title, partly due to trusted reviews, and will not be reviewing the title. I have, however, promoed the title through my weekly recap with links to Amazon. Thank you again, and I apologize for the inconvenience this may cause.

As much as I love Tessa, her latest books have not been my cuppa tea. I'm really not overly fond of the heroes. They are way to dramatic and this really throws me for a loop. I love them tall, dark, dominating, and dirty. Lately they are nothing like her older heroes.

I'm sorry but I am moving on since most have become a DNF for me. Thank you though for the opportunity to read and review Too Wild to Tame.

Oh look!! Another Tessa Bailey book!!
I stinking love almost every one this wonderful author comes out with, and this book was no exception.

She writes the most awesome stories, and has some amazing characters in them.

And I found myself clinging to the pages in this one begging to get to the end while also hoping it never ended too (Yes I know I'm a contradiction haha)

I loved the character's in this book, as I stated earlier.
They were so well developed, and I found myself rooting for them. And loving the story that Tessa wove around them. They were characters that I could easily see being real life people and I love it when authors write characters that well, I feel that way.
It shows how dimensional they are.

Plus the plot to this story was just so good.
Tessa wrote an incredible story and I can't wait to see what she has planned next for us.

It pains me to say that I did not love this book. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it. I've never NOT enjoyed a Tessa Bailey book. But, whether it was my mood or something else, I just never fully connected with either Aaron or Grace. It even took me two tries to get into this book, which is so odd for me. The worst part is, aside from the lack of connection to Aaron or Grace, I can't pinpoint why exactly this book didn't grab me or what it was that was missing.

I really enjoyed the first and third Romancing the Clarksons books. I loved the complexity of the relationships between the Clarkson kids and I really enjoyed the road trip aspect. The romance in Too Hot to Handle and Too Hard to Forget worked for me. I fell for the characters and loved how the stories fit together. This one didn't grab me the same way. It was super hot and had a lot of the elements I enjoyed in Tessa's books and the forbidden aspect of the romance ticked those boxes. It was enjoyable and there wasn't anything WRONG with it. Let's just blame my moody reader-ness.

FAVORITE QUOTES

If she wanted one night with him, he would grasp on to it with both hands and be grateful she'd found him worthy of even a short space of her time.

"I guess I'm a selfish bastard in every way, except when it comes to fucking you. I won't be selfish with your body."

"I like breakfast. I like John Wayne movies. I want to build a fucking shrine to your pussy. There's a big difference."

This is the second installment of Tessa Bailey’s Romancing the Clarksons series. I did not read the first book. I was a little confused in the beginning because of that but was able to figure out the story. It was a slow read but well written with well-developed characters.

The Clarksons are driving across the country to fulfill their deceased mother’s final wish. Siblings Aaron, Belmont & Peggy along with a friend Sage together in a rusty Suburban SUV. Their sister Rita stayed back in New Mexico. Their journey to NYC, will end on New Year’s Day as they jump into the Atlantic Ocean.

They find themselves stopping in Iowa as Aaron is looking to secure a position with presidential hopeful and Iowa Senator Glen Pendelton. As he attempts to find a way into a fundraising breakfast Aaron meets Grace who is beautiful and free spirited. She loves to live for “moments”. Grace also happens to be Glen Pendleton’s daughter. The one he keeps out of the limelight due to her free-spirited nature. Grace decides to help Aaron get into the breakfast. Initially, he has no idea who she is.

They both have baggage. Aaron feels unworthy of love mainly because of comments made to him by his father growing up. This causes him to keep people at a distance. Grace has issues as well that come to light but it never stops her from loving and giving. Making her “moments”.

“My name is Aaron”. Take the warning. Please take it. “And I never beg.”

“My name is Grace.”…… “And I know better than to say never.”

So their own journey begins. There is definitely an attraction between Aaron and Grace. Their chemistry and sexy time is scorching. Aaron talks very dirty and things get hot!

The story concludes and the next book will feature Aaron’s sister, Peggy.

I am fan of this author and her previous work, but this book fell a little short for me.

Aaron is a self-proclaimed manipulator, self-assured, smooth talking politician. The man is a player. All about the one night stands, no strings attached. The less feelings involved in the matter the better. This dirty talking, looks too good in a suit man has some deep emotion lying behind his get lost in eyes. Aaron is a complex man, as the layers begin to shed I realized that Aaron is a completely different man than I perceived him to be.

Grace is a very equine and quirky character. She's the black sheep of a family in the political spotlight. Grace suffered a horrific tragedy during her teens, that caused her to vow to live life to the fullest. To be true herself. Grace is a wild, free spirit that I came to really enjoy . Her heart is huge and she's a bit weird. Once you get to know her, Grace grows on you, not helping but to like her.

Tessa Bailey takes readers on an emotional ride with a panty melting, dirty talking man in Too Wild to Tame. The Clarkson’s are a complex family with vas amounts of personality. Aaron and Grace’s story is like peeling layers slowly to reveal the goods of the core. An untimely meeting ignited chemistry between two very opposite people. The pull of passion dances with Grace and Aaron leading to some very hot and steamy scenes. I believe they balance each other in ways they are unable to do themselves. I enjoyed Too Wild to Tame and am definitely looking for to reading more of the Clarkson’s their road tripping adventures.

I may have forgotten to review this book, but I certainly didn't forget the story! Aaron and Grace are characters that have stuck with me because of how much they both impacted me.

To be honest I got a little afraid when I realized Grace was the daughter of a Presidential candidate because I really don't need politics in my books right now when I'm trying to escape them in real life. I really didn't have anything to fear though because there were no overly political things involved in this book that bothered me. Instead I came to really like Grace and her need to change life for the better. She was a headstrong character that went after what she wanted, and I really admired that.

Aaron never thought he would be the "one" for some woman out there. But when Grace came along she started to make him realize that he wasn't meant to be alone in life. I loved these two together and they were smoking up the pages of this book. There were moments between them that had me fanning myself but also a lot of moments that had me happy sighing, and I really liked how Tessa Bailey was able to bring so many emotions out of these characters.

Bottom line, you seriously need to read this book. The Clarkson family's trip has been one hell of a ride and i's not one you want to miss. I can't wait to get Peggy's book next and I can already tell that her story is going to be a great addition to this series.

This is Book 2 in the "Romancing the Clarksons" Series and this time is the story of Grace and Aaron. He is another sibling in the Clarkson family. Aaron is not only a playboy politician but he can also be sweet and considerate. The problem is that he needs stay away from Grace and this is very difficult because the attraction between them is very strong and they cannot keep being apart!

The characters are very interesting and the book made me laugh several times and I found it very entertaining!

I voluntarily reviewed a copy provided by the publisher via NetGalley

Too Wild to Tame is the second book in the Romancing the Clarksons series by Tessa Bailey. I really loved book, Too Hot to Handle. This series is an adult contemporary romance series. Book one is still my favorite, but this second installment was good as well. I just love all of Tessa Bailey’s works.

What I liked the most about this book and this series is the concept. I love a series of interconnected standalone novels, each focusing on a different character. There are tons of books which follow this pattern and it is a big winner for me. Even better if they are books that center around a family or group of siblings. I think that is very interesting and adds another layer of complexity and familiarity between the novels. This series centers around the four Clarkson siblings, but the interesting thing (in my opinion) is the set up. The four Clarkson siblings have not always gotten along, but when they find the journal from their mother, who was the glue of the family, they all head out on a cross-country road trip to fulfill some of her wishes. I love a road trip book, and I love a good, or dysfunctional, family dynamic. So when I found out where this book was headed I was super pumped.

Too Wild to Tame is Aaron Clarkson’s story. Aaron has a political career that took a bit of a nosedive after some mixing of pleasure and business. So it was interesting see the same kind of issue crop up again in this story. It was a bit of a plot miss for me. I would have preferred to see this go in a different direction, but overall I still enjoyed his story. I really, really enjoyed Grace. I thought she was awesome, and the romance certainly was hot. What I liked most about Grace was how different she was. YOu will see exactly what I mean when you read the book. I don’t really know how to define her or describe her and do her personality justice. She fits the wild word in the title very well. So does Aaron. That is Tessa Bailey’s specialty and she certainly delivers with this book and with this series. One of my favorite things in the first book was seeing all the different sibling dynamics, so I was happy to see more of them in this novel as well, though there was not as much as in the first book. Aaron’s story was an interesting read overall, and I certainly can’t wait for the rest of the Clarksons’ stories.

I feel bad for this review because I've read other things by Tessa and I have enjoyed those books. I think this one is more of a "It's not you it's me."

I did not like the heroine and I think she ruined the whole book for me. She did something horrible and it was just excused and glossed over by everyone she knows. It wasn't ok and it should have gotten her into trouble. I also did not feel the chemistry between these two. It just didn't hit any marks for me. Also, the 89% mark...nope. Just nope. Plus there was insta love. I just do it. I can't

I'll try other books by Tessa but this one just didn't do it for me.

This book just doing do it for me. I didn't really find the characters and I didn't really see much chemistry between the characters.
Some might like this book but I just couldn't get into this one.
