In The Metabolism Plan, nutritionist Lyn-Genet Recitas has examined health, weight loss, and exercise in a unique and workable way. Her premise is based on each person being unique in terms of what foods and exercise are "healthy" for them in terms of boosting their metabolism and determining what works for them, rather than one cookie-cutter approach for everyone. She has tested her theory on a number of people with success over the years. In the book, instructions are given for a 30 day plan, the first few days of which are a cleanse. Foods and exercise that work for each person are determined through weighing in and taking your temperature each day. Weigh gains or temperature signal a non optimum food or exercise. Intense exercise or extreme calorie cutting do not figure into her program, although healthy eating and moderate exercise does. Recipes are included. It does make sense that our bodies are always changing and that we are each unique. The author does document her plan with a bibliography of research studies. This book could have been better organized in terms of helping its reader implement the plan, but with organization and willpower, a reader can put it into practice with some time spent cooking and record keeping each week. The Metabolism Plan does make better sense than plans that mainly measure calories in and out indiscriminately not focusing on where those calories come from. We are what we eat!

Great options and insight about the subject. Helped me a great deal, since I deal with hormonal problems. Would recommend to anyone with autoimmune conditions, since it's related to metabolism. Haven't reviewed on my blog yet, will do so soon.

Ghostwritten with NDA so I cannot share it here per contract.

I received a copy of this book from Netgalley for an honest review.

Interesting idea that sounded a little odd to me. I will have to actually try the diet part to see what happens but I have noticed raspberries seem to be a good food for me to eat.

For anyone who has struggled with weight issues this is a fascinating book. I'm not sure yet if any of the ideas in this book with work for me or help me in my ongoing struggles. But I really enjoyed reading it and can't wait to give it a try and see what happens.

If you ever wondered why you eat healthy and exercise but still do not loose weight and even sometimes gain weight, I recommend reading this book. This is such a great book for understanding that not all metabolisms are the same. And also, not all healthy foods are really considered healthy to everyone. Many foods which are labeled healthy could actually be unhealthy/reactive to you and cause weight gain and many other issues and you will not know it until you try the 30 day metabolism plan to see what foods might be reactive to your body. Exercise is also something that will cause weight gain to many people if you are not doing the right exercise for your metabolism.

4 stars for the Metabolism Plan! At it's core, TMP is an elimination diet, but with new insight on new ways to test intolerances and insightful ways to identify the culprits, it is a top notch approach to weight loss. Even if you do not need to lose weight and you often wonder why after some meals you are ready to take on the world and sometimes you just want to crawl into bed, this will help you figure out why!

I would recommend this book to anyone who was interested in their health and well being.

This is a great and fascinating take on diets and weight loss. I was sure it would be like all the other books that are so general and tell you the same thing over and over, but this has been a pleasant surprise and I cannot wait to see if this lifestyle change works for me (it's not a diet-it's a life change).
