First I'll start with saying that I loved this book & can't wait for more in the series. There are so many directions Samantha Chase can take with the extra characters from this book as well as keeping you updated on the main two in this one that I can't wait. Now about this book.
Matty Reed is part of a band living the rock star life; drinking, partying too much, women. One night he drinks a bottle of liquor then opens his dressing room door to find a hot brunette that he recognizes from his home town. Sparks fly & they kiss. Suddenly his manager comes & has her thrown out. Matty isn't sure if he dreamed the whole thing & decides then that he needs to get his act together. Fast forward a couple of years, & he's trying to branch out on his own on Broadway. The show completely flops & he finds himself having to go into hiding to try to save the band's reputation because all of a sudden their talent is coming into question & the lead singer is currently on a solo tour that their manager doesn't want to see messed up. Matty's good friend from growing up, Aaron, lets him crash at his house which is back in Matty's home town that he's avoided since he left after high school (abusive, alcoholic father). Aaron has a little sister that's moving into the guest house on the property named Vivienne.
Vivienne was the girl that Matty kissed a couple of years ago. She works from home for a magazine. She remembers the night she went out of character & went to Matty's dressing room. She's shocked to find him at Aaron's when she comes over for dinner. She realizes that Matt (what he's going by now because he wants to be "normal") doesn't realize that they kissed a couple of years ago, so she's upset. She treats him poorly which Aaron notices. She doesn't want to tell Aaron why, so she tries to cover it up. She gets moved in to her house before Aaron has to leave for work overseas. She's nervous about being left alone with Matt in the house next door.
Matt & Vivienne begin to get to know each other again. It leads to a kiss that brings the past back to Matt. Will they be able to get past that hurdle as well as dealing with Matt's past with his dad & Aaron being big brother? What happens when Matt can be Matty again & do a little touring with Riley (the lead singer on tour)? Highly recommend reading this book to find out this & so much more!
Like I mentioned above, I'm looking forward to more stories in this series!!

Love Samantha Chase’s romances and this one is another winner! Matt and Vivienne are two people who have known each other all of their lives but only as acquaintances. Matt and Vivienne’s brother, Aaron, are best friends, and when Matt is in trouble, Aaron comes through for his friend. During this time Vivienne and Matt realize the chemistry between them and become close. Despite the obstacles that come into their path, Matt and Vivienne find a way to make their happily ever after!

What a spectacular book about love & life! Matt Reed is in hiding from his fans, his past of abuse, plus actually hiding from himself. Aaron, his best friend from childhood let's him find his solitude living in his house while out of the country on business. Aaron's sister, Vivienne, gives everything she has to her family & friends. With a past encounter with Matt, she has a difficult time letting him back into her life. A sweet story evolves & both must face past demons to move on for a happily ever after. Definitely, 5 Stars for this book and the series. Can't wait for the next one! Fantastic writing Samantha Chase!

When Rocker Matty Reed needs to disappear for a few weeks a childhood friend offers his empty house. The estate boasts a fence, security, and all the amenities he could ask for. The catch? Matt will have to face his hometown and all the bad memories there. The reward. Everything he needs.
Vivienne is ready to move into her dream home. After months of planning and renovations the guest house on her brother's estate is perfect. Why is her brother's friend living in the main house? Why is he acting like he hasn't seen her since they were kids? Time to find some answers.
Vivienne is his best friend's sister. That should make her off-limits, but as they spend more time together it becomes harder resist temptation.

How many times, as a teenage girl or grown woman, have we dreamt of what it would be like to fall in love with a rockstar -- let alone a rockstar we knew before all the fame and glory? Chase explores this in One More Kiss, the first in the Band on the Run series. Vivienne Forrester grew up with Matt Reed, guitarist for Shaughnessy, and her brother Aaron is one of Matt's closest friends. When Matt ends up in a publicity crisis, Aaron offers his North Carolina home as a refuge for Matt to stay in while everything calms down. Grateful for this opportunity, he moves in and quickly realizes he's not the only one living on the property; Vivienne, no longer just Aaron's kid sister, used to have a thing for him, but since an incident two years ago, things have changed. Seeing this relationship from start to finish will warm your heart and put a smile on you face.

Samantha Chase, wow, you have outdone yourself once more! First, let me just say, that Samantha Chase has a particular writing style that I love. Her characters have this tug of war going on in each one of her books. Especially, inside One More Kiss. The tug of war is not just one sided. Second, there's this deep emotional journey that one or both main characters go through...like Matt Reed. He's a sexy, hot, and talented rockstar. Double check. But there's more to him than beats the eye. His past history comes to light. Family stuff that's hard to swallow. Immediately, I wanted to hug him. I wanted to let him know I felt his pain and will be there to support him. Honestly, Matt Reed felt so real. His burdens were realistic. Samantha Chase has a knack for creating the best three-dimensional characters. Well-rounded. Sure they make look perfect and a have super great talent. But they also have real issues like the rest of our world. Real world issues masterfully woven into a beautiful told fictional piece. If that's not enough to keep readers hooked there is the heat and instant chemistry war going on between Matt Reed and his best friend's sister. Vivian had always had a fantasy dream crunch on Matt. Now as adults, it feels much more potent. Then getting to see him in person after all the years he's been gone...and the desire and dreams hit her hard. Full force. Slap to the face. She meets him once again. They quickly share a kiss...before the world comes shaking up their moment. Vivian is taken away...and after that life went on like the moment never happened...Samantha Chase is a talented writer. She not only creates stories that readers can easily relate to and love but ones that will never be forgotten. This entire book was a journey...and it was epic in every way. Overall, if love hot rockstars and a powerful romance, then this novel is the perfect read. I highly recommend One More Kiss to readers worldwide.

This was a sweet romance story about a guitarist and a food blogger who falls in love. In a nutshell, this is brother's best friend love story. Our characters, VIVIENNE and Matt, have grown up together. Matt is Vivienne's brother's best friend and due to the 5 year age difference, Matt and Vivienne does not have much of a relationship. Fast forward to about 11 years, Matt is a famous musician and Vivienne decides to pay Matt a visit backstage. They share a kiss and they do not see each other for another 2 years. Needing to get out of the public after a horrible Broadway show, Matt seeks solitude with his childhood friend Aaron. And guess who Aaron's sister is???? It is Vivienne.!!
I enjoyed seeing their relationship bloom and I like Vivienne's character. They had great chemistry, but Matt spent most of this book wallowing in his depression. This book did not offer me a lot of entertainment and I had to push myself to finish this book. I had one major problem with this book….I was missing the heat and I am a sucker for steamy bedroom scenes. Overall this book was okay and the writing was great, but it was a bit tamed and boring for my taste. If you are looking for a sweet little romance, then you have found it.

I absolutely adore books that include music or musicians so this book was right up my alley. I love that it is the beginning of a series and I get to experience it from the very start. Samantha Chase did a great job bringing you into this world of musicians and characters where everything isn’t so perfect but it’s how you get over your hurdles that define the person you will become.
We have a prelude to a couple years before the book starts and it’s a great way to introduce the main love interest, they’ve met before but not both of them will remember. It was great and really its many girl’s fantasies, first this is your brother’s best friend, second he’s now a rock star, and I mean really who wouldn’t want that? The two couldn’t be more different from one another but it’s the complimenting of each other’s personality that makes them work the right way.
Matt Reed is on a hiatus after having had some bad backlash of his performance on Broadway, hey that kind of stage is not for everyone. So he’s hiding out at his best friend’s house, where Aaron’s sister happens to live in the guest house next door to the main house. First off the scenery in this book the description of the house, the kitchen, the food and the location is amazing, makes me really want to go there to relax. Regardless this was a recipe for something very interesting and not a disaster at all. There was an attraction there from the very beginning, and according to preface even longer than that.
It was pure joy watching them get to know one another again and enjoying each other’s company. It was a joy watching them grow and learn from one another, whether it was about food or family, relationships or responsibilities they conquered it because they each made the other person better. Vivienne was very OCD, there is no other way to explain it but she felt some type of way about her parents, it’s tough I can completely relate to her in the story about some people acting differently towards you than others around you, it’s hard. But I like the way she resolved her issues at the end of the book. Same with Matt, although his situation was a little harder you can’t really define what’s more dire to one person, after all you aren’t the one living in their shoes.
Overall this was a really great start to the series and I can’t wait to see who comes up next! Love the cover, it’s initially what got me interested in the book, again a musician and he’s quite good looking, I’m all for it!

In my opinion this book could be read as a stand alone, however I think I enjoyed it more because I read the Shaughnessy's series first. The book started out with Riley Shaughnessy's band taking a break and the band members are all going off on their own. Matt's Broadway attempt doesn't go so good, so his bestfriend talks him into coming home. Problem is Matt's sister, Vivienne is there too. The chemistry between them is off the charts. I really liked the ease that they had with each other, the easy back and forth. It wasn't until Viv's brother, Aaron, came home that the problems started.

A great easy read, If you are looking for a lovely new book boyfriend perhaps Matt Reed could do the job!
