I love this series by Saywer Bennett! When I saw Max was going to have a novel within the series I could wait to start reading it. Like all of Ms Bennett's books I devoured it quickly and couldn't wait to get my hands on another Sawyer Bennett book.
Received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review.
Another fun installment in Bennett's Cold Fury series! I love this idea of Max falling for Jules and being there for her, even though she pushes him away. I love that Jules is out here doing what she needs to for her family. We get some heat, but we get way more heart and honestly, I just had a fun time reading it.
I was presently surprised how much I was able to relate to these characters! I felt her stubbles down in my bones. I’m newer to this author, but I am loving the books so far!
Julianne taking care of three little kids and two jobs, she doesn't have time for anything. Working at Gas station until the midnight isn't fun. When some of the customers were being unruly someone came to her rescue but happy feeling lasted short when her three munchkins creating a havoc in the back. She is getting tired of everything but she can't give up.
Max, one of the hottest bachelor from Cold Fury Hockey team. He was having such a great game and he just needed couple snack and he met a wonderful attendant Jules but he couldn't stay at the gas stations for long. He wasn't sure if he would see her again. But when he went to convalescent home to present a check, he sees Jules again. It could only be a fate for him.
Julianne can't believe someone is interested in her and willing to spend little time she has with her. Max is way out of her league but he is sure he wants her. She is not impressed with his status or his wealth and he wants that For once, Max just wants to be Max and find someone who enjoys his company.
Now Jules and Max are exploring their relationship including all of her nephews and niece. But Julianne doesn't want to be burden for him and doesn't want to rely on his wealth. When he discovers her artistic skills, it may open more doors for her.
Jules feels Max is too good to be true, is he? Max wants everything with Jules but he is not sure if she will be ready.
It was like sweet Cinderella story with little kids. It was sweet and quick. Story moves quickly and those kids are darling to the story.
Thanks to Netgalley and Loveswept for ARC in exchange for honest review.
Sawyer Bennett delivered another fantastic book! She gave us all the emotions rolled up in one perfect package. I loved the characters and developed a strong connection to them. The writing was fabulous and the story had good depth! This book is definitely one not to miss!
Thank You for the opportunity to review this book. Sorry, I attempted to read this book. However, I couldn't get in to it. So, I was unable to finish reading and reviewing it.
Max was on the top of his game as the #1 goalie for the Cold Fury. Craving his guilt pleasure of snickers and Mountain Dew has him making a random stop to meet his destiny. Jules is not looking for anything or anyone, she is to just trying to keep her head and and those of her 3 wards above water. Max and Jules are a couple that no one will see coming. They work so perfectly as long the rest of the world stays out of their lives. This was a great eye opener into the lives of athletes significant others and all that it entails.
Loving the cold fury series and can't wait for more.
Sawyer Bennett delivers as usual. She keeps bringing these awesome hockey stories to life that are both sexy and funny and I highly enjoy them. The story was interesting and kept me intrigued the entire time and it was a quick read. This is an author I highly enjoy and I’m looking forward to whatever comes next.
*4.5 stars*
Cinderella and her Prince Charming…
A prince charming on ice skates? Oh yes, Max definitely could fill those shoes! Recovering from injury, things were coming together. He was riding high once again as the Cold Fury NHL team’s game-winning goalie. Jules, on the other hand, was struggling. She loved her family and she was going to do all she could to make sure they were happy and healthy. That also meant she was short on everything – time, money and definitely romance! When Max steps in to save her day, it was the start of something magical…
“Don’t be afraid.”
I love this series full of characters and situations that feel, sometimes overwhelmingly, real to me. Jules was a straight-forward woman with a wicked sense of humor and a warm heart. Max recognized that right away and couldn’t help be drawn to her. While Jules felt an “electric pop” the first time they touched, she wasn’t prepared for the generosity and appeal of this, unexpectedly famous, man.
“He’ll not only give you every bit of his heart, but he’ll give you his soul.”
“He deserves to have that back.”
Ahh, Max. A swoon worthy man in so many ways, plus he’s a hockey player? Oh yeah, I would learn to make tourtiere for him, too. He’s attracted to Jules right away, she is beautiful, but he wants the whole package – her warm spirit, her warm heart, everything…
Being in the spotlight is never easy and they have to navigate a whole host of landmines before they both realize what is most important. Throw in cute kids and the supportive Cold Fury family and I closed the last page on my new favourite of the series!
I enjoyed this book. It pulled you right in and kept you turning the pages. This book was well written and I had no issues following the story. It tied into the other books in the series well.
Oh my gosh, I am totally kicking myself right now because of how long it took me to finish this book. And if it was a few days or maybe even a week, I wouldn’t be giving myself a hard time, but no, my crazy self read this book over months. I started Max sometime last year and I honestly can’t tell you why I would read a little bit then stop, read, stop until I finally read it all the way to the finish line. I had always enjoyed it, but jeez, I stopped right before getting to all the best parts and I seriously want to grab and shake myself and ask my past self what I was thinking, but all that matters is that I’m so glad that some part of my brain forced me to pick it up again right now because I fell wholeheartedly in love with Max and Jules’ story — it was utterly amazing!
And speaking of amazing, Jules is amazing! Yes, she has her doubts, fears, and insecurities about some things, but for the most part she’s a rational, level-headed person. She’s strong and stubborn and she’s a genuine good person. Jules is such a sweetheart and you can’t not fall in love with her — she’s just that great. I love Jules and she and Max are perfect together in every way.
And Max is even more amazing than Jules. The man is kind, compassionate, patient and generous. He’s sweet and protective and so supportive and loving. Max absolutely has a heart of pure gold and it is seriously impossible not to love him. He’s just everything you would want in a hero — he’s just everything period!
It’s true that Max took me way, way longer to read than it should have, but I can’t fault the book for that, just myself because this was truly an excellent book. It tugged on my heartstrings, got me fully involved, and completely invested in seeing Max and Jules getting their happily-ever-after. It took awhile, but it was totally worth it. Max was a beautiful, heartwarming, heart melting read and I couldn’t love it anymore if I tried!
Max is the sixth book in Cold Fury Hockey series, but it can be read as a standalone. It’s told from Max and Jules’ POV and their happily-ever-after ending had me grinning from ear to ear!
~ A Hopeless Romantic’s Booklandia, 5 Stars
My favorite book of the series. Max and Jules...a fairytale come to life1
What a lovely book! Unlike far too many romances, this story is about two really nice people, Max Fournier, the goalie of the Carolina Cold Fury ice hockey team, and Julianne Bradley, who meet and fall in love in a realistic and delightful way. This is how I remember falling in love; you meet, you see each other, you talk, and talk some more, you deal with life as it happens, your feelings towards each other deepen, you meet each other’s families, and you come to understand that your feelings have become true love. Neither one of them is “broken,” and the other doesn’t have “fix” them, this is a love story between two regular people, and it is just wonderful.
Jules has the overwhelming responsibility of raising her deceased sister’s three children, and she is doing her best to do so. She and Max meet, and he admires her for her hard work and her caring nature. Max himself is a responsible, loving man and he ends up helping her in ways that don’t make her feel as if she is accepting charity. This is one of the things I loved best about this book; they are sensitive to each other’s true nature in a realistic and accepting way. When this couple has problems, and of course they do, they don’t do anything ridiculously stupid and self-defeating, they try to deal with them in a human, and thus imperfect way, hoping for the best.
I don’t want to say too much about the plot as I hate spoilers, but at the time of the book’s writing Sawyer Bennett said that this was her favorite of the Cold Fury books, and I can see why. You won’t be sorry to have read this book, and if you are like me it will cause you to want to read the rest of the series.
I was given an ARC of this book by the publisher and NetGalley for my honest opinion.
This series seem to always get better... I would give this book a 4 stars and highly recommend to others! If you haven't read the other books in this series you don't know what your missing... get to it! All the books in the series can be read as a standalone but they all feature past and future characters so I would suggest reading them all to get the full experience.
Max is the sexy broody goalie... he has had his fair share of "puck bunnies" but he is a romantic at heart... so when he meets the sexy independent Jules he will find himself fall hard but determined to show her what kind of man she deserves. Jules is independent but she also has a lot of responsibilities and doesn't have time for a relationship- but Max will open her eyes to life she never imagined... but will it be enough??
Get to one clicking now!
Max is the sixth book in the Cold Fury Hockey series and I can say it totally blew me away, but I love ice hockey and I absolutely loved Max, the character. He was perfect and sadly I probably will never find a guy with his character in real life. LOL. The reason I can't give this book 4 or even 4,5 stars is the heroine, Julianne.
She was an really, really ungrateful. Whenever Max wanted to help her in any way, she said no. Also the reasons why she pushes him away were just plain, old stupid. I couldn't deal with her. Max deserved better, even though in the end she got a bit more tolerable.
There was the tiniest bit of drama in this, otherwise it was a cute, light afternoon read.
Rating: 3,5 stars
This book was fabulous! One of my favorites in this series! Max is the sweetest, most kind-hearted man and Jules is a very true-to-life character. Single mom with 3 kids and professional hockey player meet at a convenience store and wow! From humble beginnings comes a superb book.
I love this series. I love hockey. Goaltenders are hockey gods in my opinion. I love sticky sweet romances. I think you see where I’m going with this…
I really liked both characters in this book and how they worked together. I appreciated the low angst aspect of the story and the quick resolution of the little angst that popped up as Jules’ life is complicated enough without it. The story is a bit predictable but I’m ok with that because again – hockey players.
We meet Lucas –Max’s brother and I can’t wait for his story. But I’m off to read Roman now as we wait for Lucas!
I received a ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I'm been in love with the Cold Fury series since book one Alex. Each book just outdoes the previous book. Each book is centered around something different and I love that, and how relatable the books in this series are. Max is a man that goes after what he wants, and he wants Jules. Who is a strong, responsible and independent women who is caring for her late sisters three children and working two jobs to support them. In my eyes Max is one in a million, he finds the perfect women for him and falls deeply in love with her. Max also helps Jules with her insecurities of being in a relationship with him. There is minimum drama and so pleased to have the team back together!
I rate this book 5 stars and can't wait to see what's in store for Roman!
Sawyer Bennett always rocks my little reader world, but Max was a different ball game. The push and pull between Max and Jules was chemical, emotional and flat-out amazing. But when weaved in with the harsh reality of real life it was a bitter pill to swallow that their attraction just wasn't enough. When Jules would have gives up such an undeniable connection, Max fought for them both. He took the burden or of her stresses, and like any good man, shared that burden and instilled more thrill and passion in her life. Max is not for the faint of heart, because you'll swoon so damn hard. Loved this book!
