I really, really liked this story! First off I had not yet read any other books from this series, I have read the “Moonlight Series” and loved it, so I thought “Why not read this series?” Wow! I must say very pleased I did. Even though I had not read from this series, the author gave enough detail so that I was able to catch on to most of the characters with ease. I liked that Rae Borden was such a strong female; she wouldn’t stop in the search for truth and would use what or who she had to to find it, seeing Nick as her way in and much more. I liked the friendship she has with Gabriel; they had so much in common and made a great team.
After reading this I see I have some catching up to do on this series and look forward to reading the rest of the series. If you like books with a little bite, mystery and a great story to keep you looking to read that one more page, then this is a book for you. I would start from the beginning it might fill in some of the other characters background and make the story even better. I give this book 4.5 stars.

I was not impressed with this book. The beginning was lacking those key elements that I personally needed to draw me in. I did not know that this was a vampire book -found out based on other review sites and by googling the book- and it was my first, but I was not impressed. I did not finish reading the book because of my overall disappointment for the beginning and frustration of not feeling that spark when reading the first few chapters.
