I DNF'd at Chapter 6. I know from what I had already read that this novel would be a hard sell. Because while Ms. Seybold added plot twists that make the novel "feel real," they are also nuances that make the story too real while throwing the reader into scenarios where I found it hard to romanticize the situations. Though the romance might become better later within this novel in comparison to when I stopped, it was the first half that threw me off enough that I'm not inclined to finish it.

I'm sorry I couldn’t stick with it. However, I do recommend it but ONLY to those wanting realism elements in their historical romance novels. This novel was just not for me.
