I loved this little sampler. I can't wait to read the entire book and learn more about these characters and what happens to everyone. That's the only thing bad thing about a sampler, you miss out on the full story and left with a cliffhanger. Diving into the full book very soon.

I found this to be an interesting start to the book. It really made me want to read the rest of the story. Thank you for sharing it with me.

Teens are going to enjoy this story if the chapter sampler I received is any sign! . They are just beginning to see their futures not to far ahead and will be intrigued with Piper and her dreams of leaving home for the big city and pursuing art in college. Well written enjoyable story that allows for more humorous and awful situations everyone is going to relate, too! .

Unfortunately, I was not a big fan of the sample chapter I read of this book. I loved the cover and premise, but found the chapter a little exhausting.

While Piper has a very strong voice, I found the storytelling a little jarring in this chapter. Perhaps I would like the story a little more if I read more and had a sense of the larger plot, but the voice didn't hook me. I think it might be a bit of a personal taste issue, but I found myself not sympathizing with Piper, when that was largely the point of this first chapter.

Unfortunately, this small snippet did not entice me in the least.
I don't foresee this being a book for me. Which is why I appreciate chapter reveals!

I have had Piper Perish by Kayla Cagan on my book to buy list for weeks now and I can’t wait to buy it. So when I found a Sampler chap on Netgalley, I was like it can’t hurt to see if I like the book. I downloaded the sampler immediately. So here is my thoughts and feelings on the story so far.

I would like to say I was annoyed that the Sampler seem to have 50 pages of book introduction before it actually got to the story. I am far more interest in the story then I am in having any of the book beginning papers. As soon as I read the actual story part of the Sampler, I absolutely love Piper. I love the way that Kayla writes Piper with Spunk and toughness. I love that Piper just doesn’t want to settle, she wants to explore life. I feel like when I do buy the actual book, I will be able to elaborate more on the story but so far, I think Piper Perish will be one of the great New adults of 2017.

Right at this moment I would rate the story a four out of five stars, but thats only from the sampler. From the cover I see going around and what I saw in sampler, I love the cover and its color. I honestly can’t wait to read this book when its available February 28th. I will return with a blog and review after I read the book at my Blog Melimimi.blogspot.com along with my youtube channel.

I received a sneak preview of Peper Perish and I liked it.

Piper is in high school in Houston. She and her two best friends plan to go to New York for art school after they graduate high school. On New Year's Eve, her boyfriend, Enzo, decides he can't be someone else anymore and breaks up with her.

The preview revolves around what happened that night and her tries to get hold of him to make sure their New York dream will still be a reality. This preview was enough for me to know I'd probably enjoy the entire book.

I chose this sample of Piper Perish based on the description and hype. While she seems a little more vapid and showy than most of the art kids I knew, and much more blind to a persons sexuality, that doesn't make her story opening unbelievable. I found the pages to be very readable and her character and language style well developed. She's even a little funny and completely melodramatic. You cringe when she cringes if you have ever had an awkward moment in high school.

Piper's story is told in diary style entries with a date a time breaking up each section. To me, this is true to how teens return over and over to their emotions over the term of a day. Things don't just have one discussion and then are resolved. She visits the story with her best friend, then her sister, and then of course with her mom who pries the tale of heartbreak out of Piper.

I think she likely has a journey ahead of her both in her art and in opening her eyes up. (No pun intended... it does start with her eyes literally glued shut from crying/sleeping with fake lashes on. I've also woken up after forgetting to remove fake lashes, so it was funny to remember that sensation. I'm guessing the author experienced this mishap as well.)

I will likely read the rest of the book when it releases to see how her senior year ends, and plan to update a full review online after.

The moment I laid eyes on the cover of Piper Perish I was in love with it's simplistic beauty. The bright, bold colors screamed for my attention and I couldn't ignore them. Having since read the sample chapter I have to say this book has a lot more going for it than just the stunning cover.

I read only the sample portion. The portion I read was really good. Maybe one day I will read the entire book
