Wyatt and Jackson wish upon a star and find themselves traveling through our solar system learning about our planets as they go. This title features nice illustrations and a great mix of story and facts in an introduction to our planet and its surrounding neighbors.
Star Light, Star Bright is a mixture of fiction and facts. I think children will love how Anna has combined the two into one fun, engaging story, with interesting characters, including Max the dog.
As the boys hop from one planet to the next, they teach us fascinating facts about each one, plus a great close up of the planets so kids can see what they look like too.
At the back of the book is a facts page, keywords to remember, and a list of more books to read, which will help further the children’s knowledge of the solar system.
The book is beautifully illustrated, will lots of detail, and will catch and keep the attention. This is a book that will be read over and over again, especially by those who love to learn all about space. With its joint facts and fiction, kids get a wonderful story and knowledge too, perfect.
A very simple and basic introduction to the planets. Poor Pluto and the other planets found in the Kuiper Belt only get a mention on the fact page. I am still confused on how they are not considered real planets when they are called dwarf planets since the word planet is still in the name. They do not go into very much details about the planets so it seems they are just telling you the order of the planets in relation to the sun. I hated the cartoonish illustrations that they chose and thought they could of chosen something better.
Very cute and educational book, great for teaching kids about the solar system!
This was unique- a story and some facts about the solar system. It's for maybe 2-3 graders, easy, quick reader. Very basic information. Illustrations are nice.
This book is great in that it helps children to learn the planet order as they tour the solar system! Explore with Jackson and Wyatt while learning facts about our solar system. View bright, colorful illustrations of the planets and sun as well. Highly recommend for elementary readers.

Very good book for the first steps in the science of the solar system!
This book has an attractive design, with colorful illustrations, all explained in chunk bites for children, and my favorite are the small capsules with the latest discoveries and data of the last satellites that orbited around the planets.
At the moment no one escapes the influence of scientific results, the impact of science is such that practically no modern citizen can develop his daily activities without having some scientific knowledge, even if they are elementary.
Scientific reasoning in children begins at an early age, starting from the child's interest in knowing and experimenting with the world around them, through which the child begins to acquire awareness and knowledge of the environment in which he/she develops by creating a new knowledge.
This book is an example of how we can solve children's questions in a dynamic way, we can observe the children's reaction and some of the intuitive knowledge they have of their environment. In addition we can invite the children to reflect on the importance of scientific knowledge for the development of daily activities, these examples abound. We can also create a sense of responsibility in the use of the technologies that are so familiar to children, since the knowledge of them is the result of a long process of scientific research in which many people have participated.
My gratitude to the Publisher and NetGalley for allowing me to review the book
