Great idea for a book and really well executed. A thoroughly good read. Highly recommended. .
This is a case of bait and switch but not just with a lamp, no it's a switch with the murder victim. Twists and turns right before the July 4th bbq and Josie is hot on the trail of the thief/killer. Was it the wealthy businessman husband or the bereaved sister. There is more at steak than a priceless or pricey antique Tiffany lamp. Great read looking forward to seeing more and learning more about the antiques world.
Another great story in this series! Josie runs a successful antique business, with a knowledgeable staff to assist her. Josie is strong protagonist and this book can be read as a stand alone book. The mystery is complex and intriguing and will keep you guessing till the very end the secondary characters are just as colorful as the main
I've read a few of the books in the series but not for a couple of years. It wasn't until I read this latest (#11) from Netgalley that I remembered how much I enjoyed these books and the character Josie Prescott. I read a lot of cozy mysteries and some are a little silly but not this one! Terrific, smart stories and characters that are interesting and intelligent. Not boring or stodgy but just really thought out and refreshing. I'm going to revisit this series and go back to the books I may have missed. Highly recommend!
Princess Fuzzypants here:
When Josie is called in to evaluate a Tiffany lamp, she is thrilled to discover that it is genuine. Her excitement is dulled when the woman who called her in is found murdered. However things get really complicated when the woman who called her in isn't the dead woman but someone passing herself off as the lady. Complicated enough for you?
Nothing is quite as it appears and no one is really whom they seem and Josie has her work cut out for her to figure out what is what and who is whom. Her expertise as an evaluator brings her into the mystery. Her curiosity keeps her there.
It is an easy read, light and enjoyable. It would be a good holiday book for when the reader wants something that entertains.
I give it four purrs and two paws up.
Fun cozy mystery with well developed plot and characters. I look forward to more in this series!
This was a good book, but at times it felt like it dragged a little. The mystery was well written and very complicated. It was interesting to learn about antique appraisal and how many variables there are. I did feel slightly disconnected from the characters, but I think that's because I haven't read any other books in the series.
