I love stories with a combination of the magical and the mundane, and while Too Many Cases promised just that, the end result was sadly less magical. Instead of the full world I was hoping to discover, I got a hint that there was more out there, but never really saw behind the veil.
I did, however, really like the depiction of Jo Cross, our main character, who also happens to be a trans man. The brief glimpse into how he relates with his family (who is, shall we say, less than excepting), a hint at his past, and the personal stability his current relationship with Simone has given him.
Overall - a good idea, but one that needed a lot more behind the story to really succeed well.
