*I received an eARC of this book from the author, I am voluntarily leaving my honest review**

I liked this book and up until a certain point, I felt like it was a 5 star read. Unfortunately, a scene towards the end of the book just derailed the entire story for me.

I loved Ned & Aquilla - they both are likable people with dark secrets. Ned might be one of the most honorable heroes I have ever read!

The chemistry between them is apparent right from the start of the book and I found the story to be both heartfelt and believable (until the aforementioned scene). I totally understood Ned's reasons for "deceiving" Aquilla.

The writing was wonderful, the story moves along at a nice pace, the love scenes are steamy and I found myself invested in Ned and Aquilla's HEA. This book touches on some delicate subjects and I think the author did a fabulous job with Aquilla's secret and even Ned's, but the portrayal of George was just off the mark in my opinion.

I would happily recommend this series and I am really looking forward to Ivy's story!!

Harrison was the Earl of Waldgrave. Walgrave is a spy dedicated to keeping his country safe. But he is also a highly respected member of Parliament. Few people knew he has a wife living in the country without him for the last six years. Harrison was forced into the marriage he didn’t want Harrison joined the Navy shortly after the wedding. Harrison is intensely attracted to his wife but still went in the Navy. His wife is Olivia and she oversees his estate. He doesn’t even let Olivia know when he is back in England. They reunite when Olivia demands a separation because the marriage wasn’t exactly legal. Harrison goes to see why after six years Olivia wants a separation. Olivia was an orphan whose father seems to have been possibly involved in illegal dealings. Olivia’s father had disappeared when she was about five years old. Olivia was taken in by Harrison’s father and sent to Miss Finch’s School For Exceptional Girls. Olivia had agreed to the marriage for several reasons first being her gratitude to Sir Roderick who was Harrison’s father. Olivia had come to love her husband in the short time they had been together. We first meet Olivia rushing through the streets of London as she believes someone is following her.Olivia is the writer of a popular newspaper column under the name of An Honorable Gentleman where Olivia talks against social injustice . Also like her husband she is a government agent trying to find the traitors who are currently using the press to convey state secrets to the enemy. Then Olivia and Harrison fall in love again but Olivia is being threatened by a person from her past.
I didn’t really care for this story. I had trouble keeping up with the story just too much going on. Then I felt like it wasn’t finished when the story ended. I just didn’t connect to the story but I know there are people out there who will love this.

Olivia and Harrison had a forced marriage, but during their short time together, Olivia fell in love. Harrison on the other hand leaves to do government work for the next six years. Wanting to go on with her life, Olivia finally decides to get a annulment.

Harrison, hearing that weird things are going on at his estate, decides to join his wife but goes undercover. He needs to know what exactly those things are, but also why his wife has suddenly decided to try for an annulment.

I really enjoyed watching Olivia and Harrison finally getting to know each other after all their years apart. Harrison finally learns that Olivia is nothing like what he imagined her to be. Of course, it wouldn't be a Muses' salon without a bunch of antics to keep me riveted until the very end.

I am really looking forward to the next book in the series, Enchanting Ophelia, which comes out in November 2017.

This is the third book in the Muses Salon series. With each book I am amazed at the talent of the author. To my knowledge, these three books are the first ones written by Rachael Miles. Each blends intrigue, danger, nasty villians, great characters you want to know better, and of course romance. Although each storyline is intertwined with the others, they are marvelous stories within themselves. The stories just get better and better. Harrison Levesford, Lord Walgrave is a spy, living his own life apart from his wife of six years (of which he was only with her for the first two weeks). However, is Olivia really his wife? She is challenging whether the marriage is valid or not. From there the story takes off. It is fast paced, full of intrigue, and humor. You will absolutely fall in love with the seven scholars, older men who live on the Walgrave estate to use the extensive library and conduct research. They provide much needed humor at various intervals through the stories. How Harrison and Olivia resolve their issues and patch their on again, off again marriage makes for good reading. Throw in a puzzle that needs solved, and several villains, you have a great read. I do hope Ms Miles plans on more books in this series especially since there are several more characters calling for their own stories. Love this series!

An okay romance, but lacking something for me. Maybe needed to flesh out characters more. Still fairly good and I feel that author Rachael Miles will definitely improve given time.

I'm going to preface this by stating, I tried to like this book. It had all the right elements to make a beautiful concoction, but unfortunately, this one was quite undercooked. Despite all the movement that is consistent throughout the novel, I quickly lost interest in this story. Nothing held me captive, instead, the plot seemed to be all over the place. I felt as if it took me forever to finish it (well 23 days felt like forever).

The major problem I had with this book are that there were many confusing passages. When I came to these parts I did what I typically do when I'm confused, I reread the whole section again and that typically solves it (because I'll have just skipped a line or so on accident). The passages in question from this novel were not clarified through this means, I was left more confused than ever. For example, there was an intimate scene between the hero and heroine in which I could not figure out if they were even wearing clothes or not, particularly with how things were progressing.

Speaking of the hero and heroine of this tale, they had a very strange relationship. It's hard to describe even the type of relationship these two had. They were very quick to jump one another sexually, but when it came to emotions they were very cut off from one another. In regards to the characters' sex life, they seemed to like going at it at very inopportune moments. For example, they had sex in an abandoned building about 5 minutes before meeting up with an informant/creepy person. If there were more emotions involved in these two's relationship, the sex would have been acceptable, but having it the way it was in this story just made it awkward.

My favorite aspect of the story is also one that got the least amount of page time and that is the introduction of the muses. I feel like this secret salon of strong women could have made a bigger impact on the story, than just being a hideout for the heroine.

Overall, I would not recommend this story. I feel it had potential to be a great story, but fell short with many confusing passages and a lack of emotions with the characters.
