I read this book immediately and absolutely loved it and I am shamed that I didn't get my review done! Better late than never as this book was a resounding thumbs up from me. I loved it!

The Batchelor Auction has everything. All the feels you could ever want, a rollicking good story, and good v evil. In other words, a classic fairytale in modern times. A brilliant put together take that is such a visual read.

I defy anyone to not engage with ALL the characters, they literally leap of the pages, having you laugh your socks off one minute to eye-rolling or getting heated the next! Such a feel good read, from the minute the story starts you're so engrossed in everything going on.

I can't wait to read more in this series, everyone is so charismatic and deserve their own books. Top class writing for a top class read. Worthy six star read, it's that good.

Jane was the responsible one in her family, she was also the doormat. It was Jane who made sure her self-centered sisters had a roof over their heads, food on the table and that their bills were paid.
Brock is the son who followed in his grandfather’s footsteps to keep the family corporate holdings intact. His twin brothers were the playboys who never met a woman they didn’t want or a party they didn’t’ want to attend.

In true Cinderella fashion, these two will meet and their futures forever changed, all because of one shoe and an interfering grandfather who decided the best way to save his company was to auction off Brock as marriage material to the highest bidder, all of charity, of course!

Let the games and the laughter begin as Rachel Van Dyken unleashes another bundle of love in THE BACHELOR AUCTION where anything can and usually does happen! Hang on tight for a whirlwind of fun and frantic romance as two souls get caught up in the machinations of a wily set of twins, an aging grandfather and one of the most unlikely allies ever! Having a bad day? Open up this tale from Rachel Van Dyken and get ready to burst into smiles, chuckles and pure laughter as Cupid’s helpers make a three ring circus out of happily ever after!

I received this copy from Forever in exchange for my honest and voluntary review; I honestly loved it and voluntarily laughed out loud, thinking, Family, you can't pick 'em!

I'm not sure what the deal is with heroes that are major jerks and heroines that are doormats that readers find so appealing. I almost DNF'd this, but it was kind of like a car accident that I couldn't look away from. I didn't buy into the romance. Brock was a grade-A jerk and Jane was a doormat. I didn't see how they would end up together. This wasn't a great Cinderella "retelling".

It was my first book of the author and a good surprise: I loved it!

Brock's parents death has been tough for him, especially with the responsability of his twins brothers: Benltley & Brant. Brock did anything he could to take care of them and his grandfather. He followed him in the family compagnie and did everything to please him because he was afraid to lose him too.
So when his grandfather asked him to be the star of The Bachelor Auction, where he will have to date a woman of Charles's choice, he said yes..
But here comes the pre party and he meets Jane...

This book looks like Cinderella story for the most part but in a good way!
I loved the story, Brock and his past, how he learned to move on. Jane was great too and so funny! I loved so much the twins Bentley & Brant and I just CAN'T wait to read Bentley's story!

I loved that in this book, a lot of themes were approached! And some of them are tough themes...

Anyway, a very good surprise!

Just Jane and Boring Brock.

There was nothing boring about this book. I started reading this book while my daughter was in dance class and let's just same some of the parents in the lobby probably think I'm a little weird. I was laughing so much at parts of this book. Of course there is a little bit of issues for the characters to overcome but I was happy that it wasn't the same cookie cutter reason why. No spoilers from me and I won't repeat the books description in my review.

Jane works hard and keeps to herself. She lost her parents years ago and ever since they passed she has had to take care of her two over privileged younger sisters. She very rarely has any time for herself and dating has pretty much been a disaster. But then she meets a gorgeous, sweet guy who just happens to be a billionaire! Could he be her prince in shinning armor or is he just another jerk that doesn’t find her good enough?

Brock has spent most of his life living in the shadow of his dead parents and overprotective grandfather. He can’t seem to ever say no to his grandfather even when he suggests that they auction Brock off to the highest bidder. It will be good press for the company and he only has to pretend to be interested in the winner. It’s too bad that a few weeks before the auction he meets a beautiful girl he can’t seem to resist even though she is all wrong for him!

Jane was a really hard character to connect with. She is such a pushover and honestly it got on my nerves how she would pretty much do whatever anyone asked of her. She does eventually get better but it was too little too late in my opinion. I did like her work ethic and she is very kind hearted but it just didn’t make up for her overbearing flaws. I really wanted to like Jane but sadly I just couldn’t.

Brock is your typical hot, rich bachelor who was far too moody! I like broody guys but he just took it to far. I didn’t like how hot and cold he was with Jane. It made their relationship feel awkward. I think that he could have been an amazing character but I felt like he was just to extreme! I really like bad boys but they have to be a good blend of jerk, misunderstood, and goodness. Sadly, Brock didn’t have a good balance and it made it hard to like him!

The Bachelor Auction is a cute mordern day retelling if Cinderella but sadly it fell a little flat for me. I have come to realize that Rachel Van Dyken writes two very different kinds of books. Her books are either very dark with brooding characters and some kind of mystery or they are light hearted funny contemporary stories! For some reason, I only seem to like the darker books and sadly this was a funny contemporary, so I just couldn’t get into it as much as I wanted to. It’s weird because I LOVE some of Dyken’s books and others are just ok. I think part of the problem is they are meant to be funny and I guess it’s really not my type of humor! The romance was cute but not anything amazing! The plot was very predictable and the characters were just ok. I seem to sense a theme while writing this and that is the book was ultimately just ok. It wasn’t terrible by any means but it just wasn’t really for me. But if you like funny contemporary romances you may really enjoy this, so give it a try if it sounds good!

Sometimes, I just want to write a review like, "This book. It was good. Good book." But that's not very helpful to you or me (well, it would save me some time...).

When I think back to reading this book, I think light, fluffy, funny, great read. Then the rest of the story comes floating back into my head like a train wreck. Not that the book itself was a train wreck, but there was some heavy emotional healing in here. I loved the development of the characters as a whole, but I think the Brock's brothers stole the show for me. I looked forward to their scenes and their entertaining quips. They helped lighten the mood and gave readers a well needed break from the brooding mains. Also, he ending was pretty great, and it really got me excited for the next books.

Side note: I'm crazy excited for the sequel coming out in August: The Playboy Bachelor! The MC is Bentley and I loved his character in this book!

The being said, Jane and Brock fit well together. I really liked how their character grew into themselves. I loved the memories they had of their families especially - there were some cute memories/flashbacks.

Oh. My. Goodness. Jane's sisters made me want to tear my hair out. I know they were supposed to drive me bananas, but how did they manage to become to freaking spoiled??? I just don't get it.

As a whole, I really enjoyed this book, but I can't say it wowed me. It was well written and well executed, but I think I'm just a little tired of the Cinderella story.

The book is a modern-day fairytale. Based on Cinderella The Bachelor Auction is the story of Brock Wellington, a rich guy which grandfather for some reason wants to auction him off. In one of the pre-auction parties, he meets Jane, a poor girl who works with house cleaning and have two awful sisters.

The attraction for each other is immediate. But each one lives in a different world and Brock cannot be with anyone because of the auction. But the destiny makes them see each other again. Jane is hired to cleaning the ranch Brock is on vacation. Now he has to fight the attraction he feels for Jane.

I was hoping to like this book. I already read other books of the author and liked very much. Unfortunately it didn't happened with The Bachelor Auction. Ok, some of the situations are funny but I didn't like the characters. None of them. Brock is a big misoginist treating Jane like a punching bag. There are no excuses for him.

Jane was too nice, too good and this makes me angry. Everybody was really mean to her.

In the end I didn't liked the characters and didn't get into the story. Too much unnecessary drama and a romance that for me didn't work.

I LOVE Rachel Van Dyken books!!!! I haven't picked up one yet that I haven't enjoyed.

Characters (even the evil ones) are awesome, story line is great (modern day version of Cinderella. Its a fun (laugh out loud moments), sexy read.

You just can't go wrong with a Rachel Van Dyken book!!!

I'm looking forward to the next 2 books.

A modern twist on Cinderella makes for a cute and charming love story with quite a few oddities thrown in. Jane lives with her two ungrateful, lazy, and quite selfish sisters. She is regarded as no more than a mere presence, the likes of which is necessary in order to fulfill her sisters’ wishes, wants, and needs. After a time her weakness became irritating, but thankfully she was able to find love and turn her back on them. I’m going to admit that throughout the book Jane’s concerns about losing her sisters and hurting them, regardless of how shitty they had treated her became redundant, as did Brock’s incessant fit-throwing regarding his inability to deal with his past.

With that said, I ultimately enjoyed the fire and backbone Jane slowly grew into throughout her budding relationship with our hero of the story, which brings us to the aforementioned Brock. Brock is also quite a weak male lead as well throughout the book, and his tantrums pricked at my nerves, but he had humor and sexiness down pat, so I can forgive it. Brock can’t say no to his grandfather, even if it means being auctioned off at an event in order to save face with the shareholders for their rich company. He has no interest in abiding by any of his grandfather’s wishes, but with guilt over the death of his parents and his guilt over the ramifications of saying no to him while knowing that his twin brothers are irresponsible, reckless, and immature…he gives in. Every. Single. Time.

Lucky for Brock, his grandfather is likened to the fairy Godmother here and has a trick up his sleeve. Not only does his trickery and secrecy give Brock back his free-will, but it brings love to his doorstep. Quite possibly, the best aspect of this book was the little details and the plot itself. After all, who doesn’t like farm animals with a mind of their own, an interfering grandfather, two people who NEED to learn to say NO and live their own lives for their own happiness, and two sexy twin brothers who honestly topped the book for me? Oh, and let’s not forget those two bitch sisters getting theirs! Plus, the chemistry between the characters was enjoyable and believable, so there’s that. Furthermore, who doesn’t love humor? This story had it in spades! Therefore, all in all, I’d say give it shot!

This might as well be called Jane the doormat. This Cinderella inspired story had dull main characters that made the plot plod on and the ridiculousness of the conceit wears on

Reviewing books provides a smorgasbord of writers and genres. It’s definitely like a buffet; there is everything from lighter fare, to main courses, to tasty desserts. Smorgasbord Even knowing the genre ahead of time does not guarantee it will fit my expectations for that style. For me a new adult/adult contemporary romantic comedy is like indulging in a piece of candy or chocolate. It’s not a heavy read but keeps my attention while making me laugh, smile, and bask in the romance. It’s also not just another cookie cutter plot line with hunky men and overused cliches. The Bachelor Auction was a scrumptious treat.

fairy godmother

Van Dyken puts a contemporary spin on the classic fairy tale Sleeping Beauty. Through an unlikely meeting, Jane – the owner of a cleaning company, meets Brock – executive and heir to his family’s business, and breaks a heel. Neither is willing to hope for love while bearing the burdens of family responsibilities at the expense of their own personal happiness. When fate throws them back together under most unusual circumstances, Van Dyken, with her fairy godmother wand, uses her magical touch to weave romance between them.

Occasionally I will find an author that consistently produces great books in a particular genre. Rachel Van Dyken is definitely one of those authors. Her knack for romantic comedies is consistent without feeling canned or forced. Her characters are always unique and have their own distinct voices and personalities. Reading her books is a pleasant reprieve from a hectic week without taking too much time out of my day; like popping in a piece of Ghirardelli Chocolate.

Brilliant. If I could give is 6 stars I would. Rachel delivers the perfect blend of Maid In Manhattan and Cinderella. I DIED. It was absolutely the best of reads and I want MORE.

Jane is anything but plain, but in her own eyes? She is a girl who walks against the wall. The girl no one looks at. Until she's wrong. Until he seems her.

Brock is a yes man. He feels the need to please everyone and in the end does nothing truly for himself. He even agree to this crazy auction that his grandfather has cooked up. Till he sees Jane. There is something about her that he just can't turn away from.

A story about letting go of all the things around you in your life and doing what you truly need to do for yourself. It's a book about facing your demons and coming out on top. It is also a book that gives us NOT ONLY GRANDMA, but a new player in the game, Grandpa. And the twins. I can't forget the twins!

I laughed, I swooned, I cheered. This novel was the best! If you are a fan of The Bet series, then you will LOVE it!

Oh, how I love a good Cinderella story! So, I was all too excited to read The Bachelor Auction by Rachel Van Dyken, where Jane, a real life Cinderella who loved to clean and was left to believe that she had to take care of her two sisters. She revered herself as a plain Jane and believed that it was her destiny to be forever walked all over by her sisters in her attempt to keep the family together after their parents’ death. Then there was Brock, who has lived his entire life trying to be what his grandfather wanted him to be and carried the same burden of believing that all of his parents’ hopes and dream rested on his shoulders.

I enjoyed the story. It was entertaining from the two main character to Brocks grandfather and brothers. However, after my swooning was over I was left thinking that something was missing. There were clearly some parts of Jane and Brocks relationship that was skipped over, where I was left to make assumption and then there was conflict. I wasn’t sure how I was supposed to feel about that, I mean I knew they would get back together somehow, but whet? Also there was the entire scheming that was all confusing and at the end when the realities of Brock’s twin brothers’ were revealed. They went from smart, fun-loving likeable dudes to sad, droopy, insecure fellas… did I say too much here? Anywho, the contrast from the extremes had me thinking, had I missed something.

I digress. I would happily give this title 3-stars, despite all of its flaws, because it can be just what you need when you want a contemporary romance with a familiar premise and candy sweet HEA. As such, I recommend you skip on out to read The Bachelor Auction by Rachel Van Dyken.

I was so excited that Rachel was adding on to the titus family with a friend such as Brock! Brock is one of three brothers who has lived without his parents and raised by his Grandfather. He meets plain Jane the cinderella to his prince and it's almost love at first site...but of course you need to be an jerk to get the girl right?!?! With some help from his twin brothers who might I say are the most Hilarious duo I have seen, he has to win over Jane, so she can see how amazing his is! There is some manipulation, there is scheming and of course a little help from my favorite person Grandma Nadine (I mean seriously this woman!!) will he win her over will the prince get cinderella??? You will laugh you will cry you will almost pee your pants with this books comic relief this is one book you do not want to miss.

This is Book 1 in the"Bachelors of Arizona" Series and it is about a modern day Cinderella story with a twist!
This modern fairytale is engaging and the characters are very well done. The author gives us a great read, entertaining, sweet and very romantic!

I hated with a passion the heroine's sisters but I guess in all the fairy tales I used to read as a child, the bad were really, really mean just like in this case!

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book provided by the publisher via NetGalley

The Bachelor Auction by Rachel Van Dyken is the first book in the Bachelors of Arizona. I would classify it as a contemporary romantic comedy. This is truly the Cinderella story of Brock and Jane. Dutiful, boring Brock and plain Jane complete with Jane's wicked sisters and Brock's seductively funny twin brothers. The gist of the story is obviously in the title, but the main conflict is the struggle each of the main characters has as a result of both losing their parents early on in life. If you enjoyed Nadine Titus' character from The Bet Series, she makes a wonderful appearance in this book. Fair warning to readers who are used to this Author's style of "clean" writing which leaves more to the imagination. By no means is this considered erotica but there is overuse of the alternate word for a male rooster in which they literally are talking about a male rooster as well as implied innuendos. I enjoyed the dialog and banter between the characters but initially had a hard time distinguishing the difference between the brothers due to similarities in their names. All in all this is a predictably good book that I will recommend to other readers. I am looking forward to reading more of this series. I can't wait to see what is in store for the twins. A copy of this book was provided for my honest opinion. I also recommend The Bet and Ruin by this Author.

This was a sweet book. Sort of.

I really liked the overall story but there was just something about both of the main characters I just didn't 100% get on with.

Both Jane and Brock were complete push overs. I personally prefer my heroes and heroines with a bit more oomph to them. To be honest there were points in this that I kinda just wanted to give them both a kick up the rear end.
Brock seriously needed some counselling after the death of his parents and his family totally saw that he wasn't fine but didn't do anything to help him any way.
Jane was just a push over letting her manipulative sisters walk all over her and well just manipulate her in general.

But even though I didn't love these two characters, I found the overall story to be sweet. It was a sweet love story and I found myself rooting for them anyway. And well...who doesn't love a good romantic love story?!

I did find myself really intrigued with Brock's brothers, the twins and I do wonder what their stories are. I shall definitely look out for their stories as overall I found them more likeable and interesting than Brock.

This book started off strongly; I really liked the updated Cinderella story, but by the end, I just wanted them to hurry up and get together.
