This was a cute and quick read. I love the fairy tale Cinderella and loved the new twist Rachel Van Dyken did with it. I adore this author and always look forward to her books.

Jane is a slave to her sisters and seems to do whatever they say. Her sisters have no problem spending money and expecting Jane to keep things in order. For some reason her loyalty to sisters remain no matter what they do.

Brock has to do something he doesn’t want because of his grandfather. Auctioning himself off to the highest bidder who has the potential to be marriage material. Brock is the one out of all the brothers that has a lot on his plate. His twin brothers are good at partying and women. They tell their brother that he needs to loosen up and not be so serious.

This was a cute story and I’m looking forward to the next books in this series.

This was one of my FAVORITE RVD books ever. Loved every word of it.

I loved The Bachelor Auction except for the vulgarity. I loved the story, the premise, the plot. I couldn’t handle the foul language or the crudeness.

It’s a shame really, I would have loved The Bachelor Auction yet, as written, I couldn’t even finish it. ;(

I'm sorry to say that I was not a fan of this book. I was totally lost as to what was happening. I didn't like the main characters, the secondary characters, or the plot line.

Unfortunately, I did not care at all for this book- the storyline seemed ridiculous, and I found almost none of the character even a little bit likable. I muddled through just to find out how the story ended, but it was not my cup of tea at all.

This was a DNF and, as such, I am not able to write a full review on my blog

The premise sounded like it be would an instant favorite. I love fairy tale re-tellings. I love rom-coms. And I love Rachel Van Dyken's writing. Unfortunately, I didn't love The Bachelor Auction.

To start with, the minor characters (Brock's brothers and Jane's sisters) are obnoxious and unlikable to the point where every word they uttered left me in stunned disbelief. Considering these characters take up a good amount of page time, I would've preferred at least someone to have some redeeming qualities.

Also, this book is essentially a rom-com without the comedy. I was actually angry for the first thirty percent or so of the book. This had a lot to do with the main characters (particularly the hero who punishes the heroine by being a total jerk because he can't have her, which is a huge turnoff). They're both essentially doormats, each living a mirror life of the other, except in vastly different financial circumstances.

I've read and loved several of this author's romantic comedies, but I unfortunately didn't connect with either the storyline or these characters..The set-up was more frustrating than anything. With the grandfather's meddling, I could see how the plot would play out, but not before a lot of unnecessary angst. I just had no desire to go through all of that.

NOW AVAILABLE IN PAPERBACK!

Cinderella never had to deal with this crap.

Jane isn't entirely sure that Cinderella got such a raw deal. Sure, she had a rough start, but didn't she eventually land a prince and a happily-ever-after? Meanwhile, Jane is busy waiting on her demanding, entitled sisters, running her cleaning business, and . . . yep, not a prince in sight. Until a party and a broken shoe incident leave Jane wondering if princes---or at least, a certain deliciously hunky billionaire---maybe do exist.

Except Brock Wellington isn't anyone's dream guy. Hell, a prince would never agree to be auctioned off in marriage to the highest bidder. Or act like an arrogant jerk---even if it was just a façade. Now, as Brock is waiting for the auction chopping block, he figures it's karmic retribution that he's tempted by a sexy, sassy woman he can't have. But while they can't have a fairy-tale ending, maybe they can indulge in a little bit of fantasy . . .

This is probably the cutest modern day Cinderella story wrapped up in a billionaire and a girl who does everything for her two sisters. I loved every second of this book all the way to the end.

Brock is a handsome rich boy with some deeply seeded issues about his dead parents and the way his grandpa wants to do things. He is set to inherit the company but his grandfather schedules an event for charity that will set it all up to prove he is worthy. Brock wants to decline, but his grandpas health isn't so great so he goes through with it.

Then he sees her. Plain Jane who is anything but plain to him. And he must have her. Pretty much from here an epic relationship is in the cards. I don't want to spoil it for anyone, but this girl can write a hell of a book. I will certainly be reading and buying more of hers.

I definitely recommend this modern day Cinderella story for anyone who loves this sort of thing. Or for anyone who just loves EPIC love stories.

This is a modern day Cinderella story. Which means it is a classic billionaire guy rescues penniless gal. This is not my favorite troupe. At All. I was offered both the ebook and the audio for review and decided on the audio. So how did this work out?

I was pleased with The Bachelor Auction mostly. The characters were either well-developed or overblown caricatures of a cliche type. Our Cinderella, Jane, is easy to love. She is hard-working, kind, compassionate and honest, even when treated badly. Her sisters are unrealistic stereotypes but it works. Our prince charming, Brock, isn't a bad guy either. He's always been a serious hard worker, trying to do what's right for his family. His brothers are playboys but they grow into defined figures.

The plot was okay. It had some odd manipulations going on by various members of the family. The solution to the big problem was obvious to me from the moment Jane and Brock met. There was something we found out after they had sex and I dropped the review score a half point for this -
Jane was a virgin. This was absolutely unforgiveable to me. It's another cliche. But Brock didn't even notice. Jane didn't give it much thought before or after. REALLY?
The dialogue throughout was a huge win. It was rather smart and often very funny. Jane and Brock were honest about their feelings with themselves and each other. This is always a plus.

The narrators did a great job delivering the dialogue to its best advantage, especially Annie Green. It was easy to tell whether it was Jane's or Brock's perspective since each chapter changed narrator. I enjoy when it is produced in this way. The narration was easy to understand and improved the experience overall.

With Brock's brothers stories coming up, I may have to go on in The Bachelor's of Arizona series, even though some things are ridiculous, it is also fun. And the brothers are already carving out a space in my heart.

The Bachelor Auction is a modern day twist on Cinderella. This story has been done many ways and many times you say...you haven't read it Rachel Van Dyken's way. She is a master at story telling, and it's never a boring tale that she spins.
Jane, our heroine, works as a maid and has two horrid sisters. She does everything for these two horribly lazy jerks, she calls sisters. I wish Jane had a backbone, but I understand why she doesn't, again this is Cinderella with a twist, so naturally Jane was way more meek and mild. When Jane is offered a very nice job cleaning Brock’s house it's an opportunity she won't pass up.
Our hero, Brock, is the typical prince charming. He is loyal, dependable, and tries to be the one that keeps everything and everyone together. Brock has two brothers, but unlike Jane’s sisters, They are hilarious and always up to something. They actually brought so much enjoyment and fun to the story. They made the story a great balance.
In true fairy tale fashion, Brock sweeps Jane off her feet and they fall in love. There is an auction, yes but the real heart of the story is Jane and Brock falling in love, I loved how there was an attraction and it wasn't an instant fall in bed together. There was time for them to get to know each other on a deeper level, and fall in love with the person.
This story was a fun and definitely sweet. Sometimes a little too sweet, and I felt that maybe it could detract from the real bones of the story. That being said, I am very excited to see what Rachel does with Brock’s hysterical brothers!

I loved this Cinderella Story!!! Such a great book!!!!

I love Rachel's books, although I'm not a big fan of fairytales, I really like this new version with Rachel's witty, sassy and sexy twist on it. The tale involves Brock, sexy, angry, boring CEO, being auctioned off by his Grandfather at a charity ball to keep the shareholders happy. Jane runs her own cleaning firm and is hired to clean the house will home Brock and his 'family' after the auction. Loved Brock's naughty twin brothers, they will make a fab read. Some great twists on the classic tale, witty, sexy and laugh out loud goings on which include a horse, an ass and a cock!!

Who doesn’t love the story of Cinderella? Even after revisiting the various adaptations over the years, I still get enough of this fairytale and this is why I didn’t hesitate reading The Bachelor Auction. What made RVD’s version different was the humor.

Brock was way too serious. His grandfather knew this and this is the exact reason why he concocted this crazy ass plan to find him a woman and not just any woman….but someone to marry and spend the rest of his life with. That doesn’t seem like an easy feat at all. But pretend demented grandpa thought about all this…

And at first, I couldn’t picture Jane and Brock together but as the story unfolded I found that even if these two existed in completely different social circles that they had so much more in common than expected. It was a struggle for both of them at first but once those walls came down and they finally gave in, WOOOW…they were amazing together. I couldn’t ask for a better fit for these two.

Another thing that I adored about this book was the banter not just between the main couple but the other characters, specifically the brothers. Brant and Bentley were both over the top – egotistical yet witty and even more playful than Brock. They sure did make a lasting impression. I can not wait to see each of them that two fall and get their HEA’s like Plain Jane and Boring Brock did.’

The Bachelor Auction is the story of a family of guys with as much sass as a family of chicks, but with more swagger and style. Five Sassy Stars for The Wellingtons! ~ White Hot Reads

The Wellington Brothers made me laugh, cry, snort and even wheeze in The Bachelor Auction. Brock Wellington is the ultimate family man. He's always done what is right by his brothers, his grandfather and the family business, until the day he decided that he needed to add the word "no" to his vocabulary. Just Jane isn't sure how she ended up with Cinderella's life. Maybe it was her promise to her father, or her inability to say 'no' instead of 'yes' all the time. Whatever it was, she knew she needed a change.

This is a story of how shoes can change a girls life. Cinderella knew this. I know this. Now Jane knows this.

'Those shoes were a catalyst. Those shoes were temptation. Those shoes were the devil.' <----- TRUTH. Well at least for this girl.

Brock is the type of guy who deals in perfection. He fears that if he makes another mistake his life will be upended. I get it. I actually understand him more than I should. For years that was my life. Strive for perfection, instead of actually living, so that my world didn't come crumbling down around me. Brant and Bentley are the younger brothers. They are full of swagger and sass. But underneath the crazy, they are just broken little boys dealing with life as a bunch of partiers and clowns. This I can't identify with but I will say, they would make the best friends. The kind of guys that you know would always take care of everyone around them, even if it's in the most unconventional way. This is proven more than once when Brock falls for Jane. The guys antics are off the charts crazy. They kept me entertained from the very beginning!

I'm so ready for more of the Wellingtons. I know they will keep me on my toes, cracking up and wanting more. Just like I am now!

Move over Cinderella. There is a new girl in need of her fairy Prince. That person is Jane. Yes, her name is plain her job of cleaning homes and business is even plain. But Jane doesn’t let that stop her from taking care of her two older sisters.

We all heard of the tale of Cinderella and her wicked stepsisters. Well, Jane’s sister tops them. Jane being the youngest has a lot on her plate. When both of her parents died. Her father had her promise to make sure that the family stays together. Putting a lot of pressure on Jane to take care of her two spoiled rotten sisters. Mind you, they’re both successful attorneys. However, they both like to live above their means which leaves Jane in the whole to pay their debts.

Until one day she meets her Prince. Or in this case businessman Brock Wellington. Brock has his own issues. With the major issue being. He has a hard time saying “No”. It might be easy for you or me to say no. But the last time Brock said no was to his father. Then his father and mother both died in her plane crash. When he almost loses his grandfather, he is deftly afraid to deny his grandfather anything.

If you need to relieve stress or just need to get away from it all. The Bachelor Auction would have you laughing in no time.

The Bachelor Auction is pure delight! Rachel Van Dyken's take on Cinderella is the perfect book to simply make you feel good. Boring Brock and Plain Jane never envisioned they'd ever cross paths. But one broken heel and a slew of well-meaning and not so well-meaning family members later, destiny stepped in and life was never the same.

I thoroughly enjoyed this one. The way the author uses the timeless tale to join the very wealthy Brock to the extremely selfless Jane was nothing short of genius. And all the characters are there: from the wicked sisters the make Jane's life miserable to the fairy godfather in Brock's devilish grandfather to farm animals that have a mind of their own and have a definite place in this romantic scheme to get these two together. Everyone has their part and they play it perfectly. Brock's brothers steal the show more than once and I'm happy they will getting their own books as well. I found myself laughing often at the over the top antics that never seemed to take a breather. The burgeoning love story between Brock and Jane is not only threatened by well-meaning relatives but by pasts neither seem to want to face. But each holds their own and I loved that Jane didn't take any nonsense from any of the Wellington men and was able to land her Prince in her own way.

Sure to make you smile, I rate this book 4 magical stars!

Jane owns Cinderella Cleaning Company. While being a maid isn't her dream job, she works hard and takes pride in what she does. Brock is rich and in a prime position to take over the family business. That is until his grandfather stipulates that he will be auctioned for charity and must pick a bidder to marry. Rock meets hard place in this fun modern day Cinderella tale.

As Brock retreats to the family estate to lie low until Auction day, Jane gets the job of a lifetime with a hefty paycheck cleaning/keeping said house for a few weeks. While a chance encounter had piqued some interest, a few weeks in a house together sets them both on fire. The only problem is they both have so much to lose and too much baggage to make it an easy romance. Brock has his future to think about. Will he choose a secure future with his company or will Brock be able to stand up to his grandfather and risk his family business for love?

This book had a good story line and fun chemistry. I really liked the inclusion of animals in the story. It helped to bring the Cinderella vibe full circle. There were however some aspects of the story that I got hung up on. I felt a lack of connection to the characters. Jane was the definition of a doormat. Her sisters were super obnoxious and treated her like crap which made it hard to empathize with her. I just wanted her to grow a pair and stand up to them. While Brock's brothers were goofy they both had redeemable qualities. I liked Brock for the most part but there were definitely things that gave me pause, which you don't want to feel when you're trying to get lost in an epic romance.

The Bachelor Auction is the first book in The Bachelors of Arizona series and what a first book it is! This story is a variation on the Cinderella theme complete with two evil step-sisters.

This is the first book I read by this author and she has immediately become a “must read” author for me. I will definitely be checking out her backlist.

It’s a full length novel that flew by quickly for me. I adored Jane and Brock. They have a ton of chemistry. There were sparks flying everywhere. It’s a story filled with humor, emotion and much romance. Any book that leaves me with tears in my eyes is a good one. I enjoyed every minute of this story.
