I absolutely freaking loved this book!! It is seriously a book you absolutely have to read! I laughed out loud so many times. The banter is downright hilarious in parts that will have you in tears. I seriously fell in love with Brock’s twin brothers, Bentley and Brant, and cannot wait for their stories! You will fall hard for Brock, it may take a minute because there are several times when he is a real jerk, but underneath all that gruff is a man who loves with everything he is. Jane is a woman with a heart of gold, so much so she lets her nasty, evil sisters use and abuse her. I thoroughly enjoyed how she gave Brock everything he gave her and more. She didn’t back down and cower like a scared little girl.
There was a lot of depth to the characters and the storyline. It dealt with grief and how people deal with the loss of a loved one, the grief and guilt of a final conversation and how that can affect your decisions and/or sense of duty in life, the ghosts of memories, etc., and all while infused with hilarious banter, hysterical farms animals, learning to live for yourself and your happiness, and of course, finding true and everlasting love.
My attention was grabbed on page one and I couldn’t wait to see what was going to happen next. Phenomenal job Rachel Van Dyken.
Though modern day Cinderella, Jane, and her 'all about business' prince, Broc Wellington, may be worlds apart on the socioeconomic ladder. It is very clear that these two are perfectly matched in matters of the heart.
Each burdened with the untimely loss of their parents, as well as the responsibilities of fortunes and siblings. Responsibilities that they never wanted. Responsibilities which may prove to be the one way that these two are able to find their way to the one thing that they both need...each other.
Rachel VanDyken brings all the wit and whimsy...and even a bit of 'bippity, boppity, boo' to the
beautiful billionaire story line. The most wonderful thing about the first offering in her Bachelors Of Arizona series?
The fact that Ms. VanDyken takes her story directly from the children's classic that we all know and love. Right down to the glass slipper.
That's right! Its all there. Two spoiled and demanding sisters, constant cleaning, and not so fairy god...um...parents, for her.
The promise of duty to a legacy, bratty brothers, and an undeniable need to find the love of his life...for him.
This book is the perfect blend of page turning drama, side splitting humor, heartbreaking emotionality, fanciful romance, and unforgettable 'happily ever after'.
A true one sitting read. This book is one that will make you want to believe in the magic of fairy dust, the power of your dreams, and the possibility of one true love.
I love the author's previous books and was very excited to be provided a copy of this book for my review. I found that The Bachelor Auction kept me intrigued with the plots in the story, but felt underwhelmed with the main characters' interactions. I honestly prefer romance stories in first person point of views. I find that in third person it gets confusing switching between narrators. I kept forgetting where the story took place, I felt that the story needed more references to its locations.
Who doesn't love a Cinderella story and reading about a swoon worthy alpha male sweeping a modern day Cinderella off her feet which; the final third part of the book peeked my interest to wanting to read the ending of the story.
This was my first Rachel Van Dyken and I surely will not be my last. This is a real life Cinderella story.
We have Jane as Cinderella, her 2 older sisters as the mean stepsisters. The Prince in Brock, and the fairy godmother in Nadine, ( She's Grandma Nadine from the BET series apparently) Brock's manwhore twin brothers, Bentley and Brent, plus Brocks grandfathers. The rats even show up!
Lets just say that this Cinderella story has a modern twist and is just as delicious to fans of fairytales. The sisters I thought were a little over the top mean. The chemistry between Boring Brock and Plain Jane was off the charts!! Brock, of course, lands in the suds and has to climb his way out and he does so in a spectacular way! I can't wait to see the twins stories, I just know they are going to be good!
Contemporary twists on Cinderella are very popular these days but this book is a little different than most that I've read. I enjoyed immensely these two characters who seemed to always be trying to please other people while getting nothing in return. Melancoly at times but funny in others, I was delighted with this little gem of a book and will absolutely enjoy sharing it with my readers and listeners. Thank you.
Jane's relationship with her sisters was so frustrating to me - it was the only thing standing between a four and five star review. I enjoyed the Cinderella parallels. I am looking forward to Brock's brothers getting their comeuppance in the future!
Omg I haven't laughed out loud continually throughout a read like I have whilst reading The Bachelor Auction by Rachel Van Dyken. Too many favourite quotes to highlight and many memorable moments throughout the story to remember. This is the first book I have read from author Rachel Van Dyken and I wasn't disappointed. From the start the story grabbed me. A great series starter (The Bachelors Of Arizona #1).

Sweet, Adorable, and super Romantic!
This is a fun, modern day spin on the classic Cinderella story.
Brock Wellington and his twin brothers are single, and are known to be quite ‘social’, especially the twins who don’t even bother hiding their promiscuous ways. So, it’s Brock who much step up to the plate and care for his brothers and run the company.
But, when their grandfather informs Brock that the board may make changes once he is gone because none of the Wellington boys are married, which doesn’t exactly scream stability. So, with time being the essence, the old man decides to hold an auction – A Bachelor Auction- putting Brock on the block and at the mercy of the highest bidder. So, who will be the lucky lady?
Jane runs a cleaning business and tries to meet the exhausting demands of her younger sisters. When she meets Brock by chance, he is simply dreamy, causing her to divulge in a few harmless fantasies about prince charming.
When Brock decides to spend a few weeks at the family ranch while the media hypes up the auction, he is stunned to find Jane there and even more surprised to learn his grandfather has hired her to keep the place clean while he’s staying there.
But, Jane soon learns the charming sweet man she met before was a mirage, and the Brock Wellington she has been hired to take care of, is royal pain in the butt!
But, as they spend more time together the initial chemistry between them is becoming harder and harder to deny. Still, once auction day rolls around, Brock will be lost to Jane forever- unless…
Romance novels inspired by beloved fairytales can be hit or miss with me. When we have such a familiar set up, the author really has to work hard to make the story unique and put their own personal stamp on it.
RVD did an amazing job with that and in the process created a delightful and charming love story anyone can enjoy.
There are some hilarious moments with farm animals, some quick and sharp dialogue and of course the special tender moments that make us all sigh.
One a personal note, I’ve been on a romance novel diet for a while, having become quite frustrated with the genre, which sent me in search of something more challenging, so it’s nice to have a book come along, like this one, that reminds me why I love to read romance and gives me hope that there are still authors out there that know what real romance is all about.

Review is up. Not my favourite from this author but that's because I love all her books haha. They can't all be winners.
This is my first book to have read by this author and I really enjoyed it very much. It's theme was maybe a little predictable as its loosely based on a modern day version of the Cinderella fairytale but it was so well written and in such a way that it made me want to keep reading along.
The story is so light hearted and full of hope, and had so many funny moments that I never once thought that this book was just like so many others that I have read before, it has it's own unique style which is down to the clever style in which the author writes.
I felt that the characters were well connected and developed and I especially loved the twins and their hilarious banter and their scandalous behaviour was just a pure joy to read.
I cant wait to read more in the future from this very exciting and talented author.
A brilliant 5 stars!!!
