I found this to be an interesting start to the book. It really made me want to read the rest of the story. Thank you for sharing it with me.
This esampler of the book The Edge Of Everything by Jeff Giles is interesting. It makes me want to actually pick up and read the full book. It was full of intrigue, an adventure and a dark premise. It was gripping and gruesome. Its the kind of book that will capture the readers' attention from the very first page.
I know all I read was a sample and also realised that has taken me this long to get back with a any kind of review. I had to have a long blogging hiatus due to work, but now I'm back and want to make sure that even late I'm still giving some feedback.
Honestly, the sample didn't make me want to get myself a copy of the book. It was just okay. It's one of those books that I won't go buy it myself, but if given to me as Christmas present I won't mind to give it a read.
There was something about the story that didn't clicked for me, but maybe all I needed was a few more pages.
I guess I won't know for sure unless I read it, but I'm not rushing to get this book.
I like the writing style which was clear, logical and straightforward. The mystery picked my curiousity and I would definitely read the book based on this sample.
I had a tough time getting into this book. I really did like it for a but there wasn't much to read so I really didn't get into this book at all. DNF . I thought that I would like this book but I didn't get into it at all.
As this was just a sampler, I won't be posting a full review yet, but I LOVED the opening! The characters and world are interesting, and I was immediately engaged into the story. The story seems unique, and having never read anything by this author before, I will say that so far I like the writing style.
I am definitely picking this book up to read the full story and will be sharing a complete review after reading.
Oh boy. Ohhh boyyy. This was a rough read. For one, while there are some interesting action sequences and new ideas for worldbuilding in The Edge of Everything, I do not understand the hype building for this. It is just another rather generic YA supernatural novel that's more romance than anything else.
The love story between two just-acquainted teens is half-cooked, underwhelming, and made of tired YA tropes. Things get way too intense and involved, way too quickly. The sad part is there is chemistry between the two, but the story doesn't do the work of building a real, solid relationship. The writing is serviceable but nondescript, though capable of pulling off a twist or two. The characters in the story have some charm (at least Zoe does) but it's not the same for the secondary characters.
There were some things I liked about The Edge of Everything -- at least enough of them to finish. The bond between Zoe and Jonah is one of them. The intriguing system of bounty hunting that 'X' is a part of is another. The ending of the story is rather half-done, and follows an easily predicated outcome. This kind of storyline is rarely my favorite and while it wasn't entirely bad (two stars out of five) I won't be continuing the series.
This was amazing, I can't wait until I get the chance to read the full book.
