Having recently reviewed another children's devotional and really loving it I was unsure how this one would compare, in fact I was concerned that this one would not be as sophisticated as the former. As I turned each page I realised that I could not compare the two, simply because they have different strengths and weaknesses.

What appealed to me most with this one is that it has a theme - Faith, Hope, Love. I also think it is a wonderful interactive book because it has places for the child to write answers to some questions. It also gives the child a challenge to go out and share their faith, learn, and pray.

The most important part of any devotional is that it is backed up by the word of God, the Bible. This books has many bible verses on each page related to the devotional and this is consistent throughout the whole book. The other positive aspects of the book is the section at the end for the children to add their own notes in the "thinking space"where they can draw or write on. Additionally, the parent connection page rounds the book off nicely into a well rounded set of devotions for children.

The book is aimed at 4-8 year olds, however I find the illustrations unsuitable for this age range. The illustrations are lovely but I would think they suit a younger audience such as 2-4 year olds. Yet, the content in the book doesn't. It makes the book feel a little jumbled, but I don't feel it is pertinent to its success and still is a good purchase to make.

Overall I enjoyed the item and know that many children and their families will find value in the resource.
