Beautiful book by a beautiful author. Page turner at its best. Heart stopping words. A totally must read.
Good premise but the dialogue felt contrived. I didn't feel it was being spoken by adults. The grovel scene was good though and the author writing was phenomenal.
"What color are your eyes? Blue. What color blue? Denim blue. Levi's blue." This book had me from the dedication and dear reader. This was an amazing story! I loved every page of it. I don't want to give ANYTHING away, just one click and read, you will not be disappointed.
Imagine if you will having your eyesight taken from you after having the ability to see for years. An accident leaving you blind to the world around you. Forced to rely on your other senses to get through life. A cane in hand to assist where your sight used to guide you. Imagine again using your memories to put images on canvas for the world to enjoy. Welcome to Evie's world. Evie was a blind artist who crafted her art from memory and set the pieces in a gallery with the help of her friend Cherelyn.
During the opening of her art show Evie carefully planned her introduction from her entering the room and her speech. What she did not plan on was her confidence to be shattered by an unexpected mishap and a strong quick handed man to rescue her.
Levi got to see what Evie did not see. Levi was the eyes Evie needed in visualizing past memories.
Both characters gave up hope in finding love after having suffered a tragedy in their past halting the hope of finding love. Until they met each other and a connection was formed bonding them with a new hope.
The story was therapeutic in the way Evie taught Levi her world. Evie taught students different ways to proceed in life when a disability was a factor. Blindfolding Levi and educating him from her perspective was beautiful and humbling. The story showed compassion and humility.
Evie's character did not allow her blindness to define her or take away her dreams. She altered her course in life to accommodate her blindness and taught herself how to become an artist through the sense of touch.
What do you do when a handsome man seeks out a blind woman who tries to warn him that dating a blind woman requires a lot of hard work? You set conditions. She gave Levi four dates to prove he could handle the obstacles of trusting a blind woman.
Evie's character was amazing. She never wallowed in grief over her disability. She was a strong and courageous character that provided hope in other characters.
Evie taught Levi how to see with his other senses. Levi had the sense of sight but was blinded by oversight. Evie taught Levi how to see the world by describing what he saw to Evie to help capture the memory.
"Levi Michaelson…he’s an explosion to every one of my senses." Favorite quote in the story. Many more puns were included in the story regarding blindness. Even though, the topic was serious M. Leighton kept Evie's character lighthearted. Evie never let her blindness consume her into the darkness. She used her talent of photography to create beautiful and vibrant paintings from memory.
I read a truly beautiful heartwarming story filled with emotions and hope.
The characters complimented each other. I cried when Evie tried on the dress with the help of the sales lady. So comforting to have a compassionate and understanding female to assist in her time of turmoil and fear. M. Leighton brought forth such sexual sensation that I could sense the heat and lust through the words.
Levi's character proved that Evie was very much a woman with a sexuality worth exploring despite her blindness.
Cherelyn's character was the friend most people wish to have. She gave sound advice and played the devils advocate from all perspectives allowing clarity from all angles.
This gives new meaning to the term blind date.
Wow! The feels this book delivers. An amazing read, their chemistry is off the charts. I FLOVE Levi, such a good strong, swoon worthy character. Evie, a heroine to admire, her strength and outlook on life is extraordinary. The descriptive writing made me see and feel things in a whole new way. An experience is what you'll get with this read. I highly recommend this book! A must read!
I devoured this book.
The story Michelle has created is unlike anything I've read, she has created one of the most complex characters I've had the pleasure of reading. Evie will open your eyes to a whole new world, she will make you see things in a new light. You will feel
Her pain, you will see her beauty. You will understand her darkness and see her light.
She is by far one of my favorite heroines of all time.
Levi is tall dark and handsome, he is oozing sex and wants Evie in ways he's never wanted anyone.
He is kind and patient.
He really sees Evie for who she is. He is in awe of what she has accomplished and how inspiring she is to others. He realizes she is like no woman he has ever had the pleasure of knowing.
They have this flirty banter and chemistry that was off the charts, oh did I mention Hot sex? That too.
As for the secondary characters LOVE Cherelyn, I want her in my life. She has to be one of the most loyal, kind, and caring friends I've ever seen.
There is also some angst and twists that you may or may not see coming.
You will laugh and cry,
You will learn inspiration and forgiveness. Heartache and betrayal.
Happiness and unselfishness.
But most of all you will learn the true beauty of color.
I received an arc for an honest review
