Hooked on Love is a very well written romance. I enjoyed the plot and the characters. I highly recommend this book. I received a complimentary copy from the publisher and this is my unbiased review.
I enjoyed Hooked on Love. The hero is a pretty simple guy. After his divorce, he went quiet. He decided that all he needs is a little cabin and a quiet place to go fishing. Now, he’s talking, but he’s still reeling from the pain of his divorce and marriage to a money hungry diva. The heroine is a city girl and a gifted journalist finally hoping to get her shot. All she has to do to get ahead is make a slam dunk on this nature story. To get what she wants, she has to strike a deal. She’ll pretend to be his girlfriend, if he'll let her write the story. Of course, it turns into so much more. While I enjoyed this story, I prefer my romances dialed to HOT. For me, this one comes in at a simmer, making it more cute than sexy.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
A woman with an assignment will discover that it's more than fishing she learns in a small town, out of her comfort zone with the one man who will change her life forever.
Loved this fast read. Don't miss this outdoor adventure!
I received an arc of this title from NetGalley for an honest review. Hooked on Love was a well written and easy to read love story that I think that many will enjoy. It's an easy to read contemporary love story.
This was a very sweet book. I have read several books by Mrs. Marts and enjoyed this one as well.
Avery and Sullivan were great characters that really brought life to this book. They were so different but they also made the best couple in the end. Avery is big city and flash. Sullivan has been there done that and like his quiet life.
This book has laugh out loud funny parts and fan yourself sexy ones as well. This is a dual POV book that you won't want to miss.
I received a free copy for an honest review.
I had made a decent progress on the book when I was forced to abandon it. I continued reading it two weeks later and after reading a few sentences everything I had read came back to me. I have read books where I have stopped reading them in order to go to sleep and forgot what I was reading and yet this book stayed in my memory. That alone should tell you a lot of things about the book and how good it was. You can understand why I am giving it 5 stars. I won't recall it years later like I do with my favorite book (9 rules to break when romancing a rake), but I think I will be able to remember some things edit: that is true, it's been 2 years since I read it and I don't remember much, but I do remember some parts). My favorite part of the book is the second live story that happens during the events of the main one. I wasn't expecting it, but it was a welcome surprise.
I really enjoyed the book, it has everything I love in a novel from start to finish. I can’t wait to read what the author has planned next!
Avery is a city girl looking to jump start her journalism career. Sully is a country boy who doesn’t need anything but his fly rod. They strike up a deal that if Avery pretends to be his girlfriend, Sully will help her will her article. A storm leaves them stranded at his cabin and Sully’s true feelings emerge. Can he let her go?
I really enjoyed this book! I love romances that feature the hero and heroine from different backgrounds/ways of life. There’s just something about a couple who seems like they wouldn’t go together. I look forward to seeing what happens in the rest of this series.
This is possibly a case of "it's not you, it's me." I felt like rolling my eyes through this whole book. It was just like a rom-com movie in book form, so if you enjoy those, you may enjoy this. It claimed to be a romantic comedy, but the comedy was not my sense of humor. I like more quirky, less cheesy. Although there were some fairly raunchy bits, so if you want a lighter Sparks-esque book with descriptive scenes, it may be for you.
