When Annie Denning discovers her brothers best friend is back in town she's mixed with emotions. The pre-puberty friend was more a thorn than a sexy book boyfriend.
Wes Hartley delivered a stellar debut novel but now the readers want more and he's left with a bit of a writers block. If he can find a muse, perhaps he might figure out a way to secure his future and deliver another successful book.
In this brothers best friend trope Annie finds out there the one man she shouldn't want is the only man who will satisfy her.
Are happy endings strictly fairy tale and only in books? What will happen when Annie discovers that the life she thought she'd had wasn't exactly the fairy tale imagined.
A spicy story with a hero who finally discovers that he is worthy of love, that his decisions might influence others around him but ultimately he can only control his own path.
A beautiful story of love, hope, and forgiveness.

Three Simple Words (Kingston Ale House #3)
Author AJ Pines
4 stars
Let me start by saying that this is book 3 in the Kingston Ale House series but you can totally read it and not feel as though you are lost. It was my first book by Author AJ Pines. I loved the characters in the book. I enjoyed AJ Pines way of writing. It was an easy and sweet read for me. I look forward to reading more from her.
Wes has come home to try to get out of his writer’s block. See he is an author. His first book is selling like hot cakes. But with his deadline for book 2 looming over his head, he has to get out of the city and see if he can figure out something or he is going to be a one hit wonder. Wes not sure if coming home is the best thing; there are too many memories and realities that he will have to face. But when he runs into Annie, maybe coming back wasn’t such a bad thing.
Anna is a book blogger and the owner of a local bookstore. Books have been her things. So owning her own bookstore was perfect. Well if she was selling books and not worrying about making bank to pay her best friend for doing the books for her. Anna has always believe in HEA in her books and in life. I mean her parents have been married and happy for years. So why can’t she find her prince charming and live happily ever after?
Anna and Wes have this chemistry between them but Anna seems to remember her little brother’s best friend, sitting on the couching playing video games back when he was a teen. But now he is 25 and an author who does not do HEA. She wants to show him that everyone should want for their own happy even in books.
As Anna and Wes agree to a casual fling, Wes seems to have found his muse and his words are flowing. Anna maybe just what he needs to get book 2 written. But will the fiery red headed green eyed beauty give Wes more than he bargained for?
What happens when your life is all about romance books and you think that every relationship should be like what you read in those books? You set yourself up for failure is what happens.
And that's exactly what Annie has been experiencing all her adult life. Her relationships have been just okay, nothing spectacular because she has set the bar so incredibly high that no one can ever reach it.
Wes has the exact opposite problem; he doesn't believe in happy ever after and doesn't see himself ever settling down. Wes and Annie couldn't want more different things, yet a date at a mutual friends wedding could change everything.
LOVED the characters in this story! The author did an amazing job of making the characters come to life and giving them all the depth they needed. While this is the first book in this series that I have read it's obvious that characters from previous books in the series are brought back. However I didn't feel lost at all with those characters.
This book just wasn't for me. I was unable to connect with the characters and storyline.
Conceptually, I freaking loved this book... because
A) I'm a romance book blogger.
B) I have dreams of opening my own book store some day.
C) I would love to fall in love with an author.
But, it wasn't executed as well as I would have liked. It took a while for me to get into it, once I did I really enjoyed the story over all.
Wes with all of his I don't believe in happily ever afters and Annie who didn't like him because she didn't like his book felt a bit dumb to me too. It might have been the third person that was throwing me.
Away from the negative we go.
I had some great laughs and I loved her blog posts (great blogspiration lol). Once you get to know the characters and get past the first quarter of the book it really picks up and gets going. It's funny, sexy and sweet. I hope you enjoy this fun book!
I loved that this is a romance about a bookstore owner/blogger and a writer. Annie lives and breathes romance novels and is convinced her hero and happily ever after is out there somewhere. Wes did not set out to write a romance book, and while Annie does not consider his book to be a romance, the book community sees it as one. Just as his character in the book does not believe in happy endings, Wes is serial dater that refuses to believe he has more to offer than his time in bed. This sets the tone for the beginning of their relationship, but pretty soon they are both learning things about themselves that they had never considered. Three simple words have the power to change their lives, but they must each have the courage to go for their happy...beginning. Overall a sweet and sexy read that can be read as a standalone.
If you're an avid romance reader and reviewer, this ridiculously sweet and sexy story should be just the thing for you. How could it not?! We have a romance writer and a bookstore owner/blogger as our MCs!! :) I devoured every single word in this book in mere hours. IT WAS FUN and it put a HUGE smile on my face :)
I was really afraid this book would turn out to be way too cliche but A.J. Pine turned all those typical tropes into something unique and fun with relatable characters that you just can't help but like and root for. This is one series you are going to want to dive into from beginning to end because every book has been outstanding!

No seriously, this one ticked every single one of the boxes for me, and it was such an enjoyable read that I couldn't put it down start to finish. I've never read A.J. Pine before finding this one on NetGalley, and let me tell you this will not be the last. In fact, I'm going to backtrack and read the previous books while I look out for the next release. This book even had the honor of being added to my favorite book list, so that alone should tell you all a little something about how much I adored it!
Annie and Wes had their own issues to overcome, both avoided real relationships for example without revealing any spoilers, but neither of them realized that finding the right person could change all of their preconceived notions. From the engaging plot to the fun cast of characters, Three Simple Words really had it all. It was witty, sexy, fun, and just so incredibly good! I could probably gush more, but I'm just going to say again that if you enjoy a cute romantic comedy with a bit of heat thrown in, then you are going to love this one just as much as I did. Promise!
