Wounded hero and the woman with the strength to love him…

My heart is sighing happily right now. This author found the perfect mix of angst, love, steam and even humour in this romance that highlighted the wounds of war.

Miles was back after years away in the military. His father was dying. He had deep wounds no one could see. It seemed the universe heard his quiet plea for help because Zoe was going to be there for both of them…. Zoe was a caregiver, a nurturer. And there to look after his dad. With emotions running high in every quarter of his life it’s no wonder he found Zoe to be a calming influence. What they both didn’t see coming was the chemistry and love that would explode between them…

A great writing style that made me feel each strong emotion, there was a lot to love about this story. Steam galore and humour (especially from Miles’ comrade/friend Tobin) made for a sizzling, heart happy romance. I wouldn’t mind one little bit if Tobin found his love in a future book as well. Another excuse to check back in on Zoe and Miles (those delightful epilogues simply weren’t enough)…

This is my first Sarah Robinson read and it certainly will not be my last. Beautifully written, gripping and emotional story daring to tell a story of the real demons men and women in the military face when they return home. I devoured this beautifully written military story of Marine and War hero Miles. When he returns home, he discovers that's his dad is terminally ill. Meeting his father's hospice nurse Zoe makes him feel things he never though he would. But a romance and adjusting to civilian life isn't going to happen unless he comes to terms with his secrets and demons from the past.
What happens and how you'll have to read and find out❣

Great story, wonderfully written. Sarah Robinson has such a way with her stories, and I didn't want to finish it. but couldn't put it down!!
Hoping for stories for the side characters, and loved this one!!

I really enjoyed this book. Miles comes back from being deployed. He comes home to help take care of his sick father. Zoe is living with Miles father as his nurse. Right away Miles sees how Zoe fits into their family.

The story line is a slow progression, which made it feel more natural. Everything seemed to flow together. The difficulties of civilian life for Miles, Zoe moving forward with her life and the struggle with Miles dad being sick.

I hope we get to see a book on Tobin. You could see in this book that he has a struggle, the same way Miles does. I would love to see him get a happy ending as well.

OMG what a story!!!!

There is no doubt that Miles has PTSD, even if he doesn't want to admit it and isn't ready to accept help when he returns from Afghanistan. What he went through over there....just absolutely heartbreaking. Once you learn what happened and what he did, it explains every action throughout the book.

Zoe has a heartbreaking story of her own...one that will also bring tears to your eyes. The only comforting piece of her story was that she found the support in Walter that she should have had from her family.

The only reason I didn't give this story 5 stars was that I wanted Zoe to have a little bit more of a backbone especially towards the end of the book. I wanted her to fight for herself and for what she wanted but she just sort of rolled over.

Overall though an amazing book!
