These manga are well drawn and a great way for young readers to discover the classics while reminding us why we love these titles. Well done.

This is such an awesome combination of manga and the classic that is Jane Eyre!

The storyline kept true to Jane Eyre but was such a fun and entertaining way to get immersed in it.

I think even if someone hasn’t read Jane Eyre before this would still be a wonderful way to read the storyline. I could actually see it being much easier to digest for those who don’t do much reading.

The artists did an amazing job at evoking the characters emotions and the feelings of pivotal scenes through the art work.

If you are an ardent fan of Jane Eyre do remember this is an adaptation and won’t be exact in every sense!

The one aspect that needed some work is some of the translations were off. Not so bad I couldn’t get through it but when they did happen it was obvious.

Overall, I really enjoyed this manga adaptation of Jane Eyre! I would recommend it for sure.

Thank you to NetGalley, UDON - Manga Classics and the artists for providing an advanced reader copy of this book.

Jane Eyre is my favourite Bronte book. This manga is a fantastic adaptation of this novel with the art style bridging the gap between fans of the classic and fans of manga. This manga closely follows the classic storyline and is something I would love my students to read.

I love the concept of reading classic stories without having to be bored to death, but vivid in pictures. The end product was nice, but I probably would not reread it.

This was a perfect visual version of the classic Jane Eyre story. It gave me the same feelings as when I read the original. I also really enjoyed the imagery and the art style. I think that this would be perfect for people who either haven’t read the story before or aren’t keen on reading older books. Sometimes older books can be intimidating to readers, so this is a nice way to still get the feel of Jane Eyre but not have to deal with the older writing style.

I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys this time era, these types of stories, and manga. It is a mixture of things I never thought that I would see but I'm really glad they made books like this because it can really help someone get more into it.

Absolutely fantastic--and faithful--manga version of Jane Eyre!

I love Charlotte Bronte’s Jane Eyre itself, and I may or may not have bought my house because it has windowsill seats that remind me of the scene when young Jane is reading behind a curtain on that fateful day.

This manga version hits all the major plot points, and all the minor ones (that I remember), too! I was worried this would be a sanitized version of Jane Eyre, full of all the worst things about adaptations, but it’s not. This book is absolutely faithful to the original. And because it’s visual, you get the delicious chill of the gothic in every image.

Plus, the manga artwork and format makes accessible what can otherwise be a daunting read.

As an English professor, I’d say that someone reading this version of Jane Eyre will get just as much out of it as the original, especially if that reader is intimidated by the thickness of Bronte’s original.

Thank you NetGalley and UDON Entertainment for sending this book for review consideration. All opinions are my own.

Love it how an old classic has been remade into an exciting manga-style page-turner! This format really makes (older, somehow even dated, yet still classic) books more enjoyable for the younger generation.

I adore this gorgeous adaption of Jane Eyre. Manga pictures really bring out the poignant scenes and make it more emotional to me. I adore these illustrations so much. I especially love this making it more friendly for children and young readers, so my children can read the classics in a way that feels more natural to their interests in reading.

Jane Eyre I read back in high school and at first I didn’t understand it. So I sat in it for a month and then read it again and fell in love. The writing is amazing and Brontë’s work is just pure perfection.

What a great way to engage students in the classics. I wish this format had been available when I was a high school and college student. Reading the classics is hard especially when you do not have a teacher to guide you through the language and the time period nuances.

A wonderful rendition of a tale as old as time. I really enjoyed this retelling of Jane Eyre! Sometimes having an illustrated edition makes for an even better experience!

A wonderful adaptation of the classic: Jane Eyre with wonderful illustrations by Manga Classics. They adapted the story plot in such a way that it is very easy to follow and understand. But the book takes the reader through an emotional rollercoaster which went missing in manga adaption.

This is a story I really like, so seeing it in Manga format was super interesting. I think the best part of the illustrations were the way the facial expressions were captured. There were so many different facial expressions with seemingly so little difference, that we could very easily tell which character was who.

I’ve never been able to make it through Jane Eyre, but this condensed manga adaptation made it a quick and interesting read!

*Thank you for the ARC!! All opinions are completely my own.**

4 stars. Well-illustrated manga version of a classic. HOWEVER, it is formatted incorrectly, as in the first few pages start off with the END of the book. Therefore you will need to start within the ARC at the very last page.

If you are a fan of the classics, and you are trying to get your children to read them, but in a way that they will understand I definitely recommend this book and any book that is a classic that has been turned into a manga. My students in middle school absolutely loved these books! I cannot tell you how many students would read these books!

Jane Eyre as the title suggests is the story of a woman named Jane Eyre, who is an orphan ostracized by her aunt and cousins . Later, she is sent to Lowood school for girls where she takes life's choices into her own hands. What happens later forms the crux of the story.
Since this was a manga adaptation , it was pretty easy to read. The characterisation of Jane is that of a very normal girl, not the regular main character you would see in the era when Charlotte Bronte had written the same. The fact I loved about her is how she is fierce and how she takes life changing decisions for herself, given the political and social scenario of that time. The male main character Mr Rochwood, has been created showcasing his vulnerability , which is a rare find , even in today's literature. It is a pretty fast paced read and story to me felt like a typical movie, maybe because this piece of literature must have been heavily adaptated. There were many coincidences for conveniently landing on the perfect ending though; yet this is fine story

I feel that this is one of Manga Classics' more ambitious undertakings, and given both the scope and style of what it is adapting, I'm not sure that a better job could be done, at least not without significantly increasing the length of the adaptation. So, my four star rating is perhaps a bit unfair as it measures against a hypothetical and nonexistent standard,

The primary failing of this adaptation is in the inherent nature of the graphic novel itself. Similar to the case with the Edgar Allan Poe stories' adaptation, much of the reader's own psychological possibilities are removed because the imagery is established. Because so much of the power in Jane Eyre comes from the intimate first person narrative and what the reader imagines from it, dictating what appears in the reader's mind's eye lessens the impact of the work.

I think that this MC is still valuable in making these classics more accessible to a wider audience. Picking up any classic can be very intimidating, and it can definitely be a chore to trudge through. If nothing else, this MC makes something that can be difficult to finish more approachable.

A manga adaptation of one of the greatest works of English literature is surprisingly good. The illustrations are beautiful They may have made Jane and Rochester a little too good looking is my only complaint, This is a fun way to read a classic.
