To the Edge is a second-chance romance with a BDSM twist. Clara and Noah are former lovers who reconnect when Noah finds Clara testing her limits. Noah is shocked to see Clara wanting to submit and wants nothing more than to be the man she submits to. As they work to push her limits, someone else is out to live through their exploration and stalking the newly reconnected couple. This was a strong 3.5 star read for me, losing a half a star because I had some trouble connecting with Clara and Noah outside of their BDSM scenes.

I admit that this is kind of the perfect book for me. I'm an erotic romance fan and I love a book where the characters agree to a sex arrangement. In this book Clara is a sex blog writer. She has a controlling senator mother and doesn't realize that her life has been altered by her mother's intervention. Clara is trying to get some first hand BDSM experience. Her inital foray goes hilariously wrong. Hint: it involves a cage and a house fire. Much to her shock, Clara has to be saved from her near death experience by her first love Noah.

Noah is a former navy seal. He left Clara 15 years before this book starts. He genuinely loved Clara and left her as the result of her mother's diabolical meddling. Clara thinks that Noah abandoned her. Noah thinks Clara had been ignoring him for 15 years. But then, he finds Clara hanging in a cage and it's on and poppin again. Clara is determined to return to her BDSM research and Noah is determined to keep her safe. Of course it doesnt take long for them to figure out they can both accomplish their goals together. Hmm, did I forget to mention that Noah can't really leave his house because he had agoraphobia? Minor detail. Clara thinks that her sexual submission to Noah can help him come out, like of the house, again. It turns out she's right.

What comes next is a lot of smoking hot sex with domination and submission in the mix. I loved it. Noah has some majorly deep issues that came from his time as a SEAL. Ilive to see a sexy alpha male redemption story. I loved that from the beginning of the book Noah feels possessive about Clara. And I really like Clara's personality. Even though Clara has some ish she's kind of running from. She's also fearless and funny. This is random but Clara is nosy. I loved how she would just admit it.

From the very beginning of this book I was rooting for Clara and Noah to recapture there love. The very beginning of the book had some slow spots but beyond that, I ate this one up. I really recommend this for all you romance/BDSM fans.

Clara and Noah were young and in love and spent the summer being together as much as they could but then Noah left without goodbye and broke Clara’s heart but she never forgot him. Fifteen years later Noah was an ex Navy seal and suffers from PTSD and agoraphobia. He moved back to the town where he and Clara had lived. Noah’s PTSD makes him stay in his house but Noah still works with Special Ops and his team just from the house. Noah is now involved with taking down a terrorist that had been elusive so far.Clare writes a blog called Sextattle.Com it is about sexual advice. . Clara has a chance to research the world of BDSM for an article for her blog. Clara was a senator’s daughter and a sperm donor baby and her mother was a single mother. Clara’s mother is cruel and makes Clara feel like she is nothing but one big disappointment no matter how hard she tries. Clara runs her mother’s charitable organization that funds many of the programs Clara herself really believes in. Then Noah sees smoke coming from Clara’s old house and goes to see what is going on. There he finds Clara handcuffed inside a cage with a gag in her mouth and he frees her. The man Clara had contacted to teach her about the BDSM lifestyle had left and left Clara in the cage with no way to get out. Noah never forgot Clara. Noah was to leave after the summer to join the Naval Academy if if he got a letter of recommendation. Clara’s mom was a senator and wrote the letter for Brett so he left for the Academy. But when Noah wrote Clara a letter her mother interceded it and made sure Clara never seen the letter. Noah had taken a remedy so he could leave his house but it made him very sick afterwards. Noah tells Clara he is an experienced Dom and will teach her what she needs to know. He also clears up why he left without goodbye.
I enjoyed this story for the most part. I loved how Noah immediately took the remedy to go check out Clara’s old house and then ended saving Clara even though it made him very sick afterwards. But I don’t think Noah was a good or at least very experienced Dom at least not in the right way from what I have read about this world. He pushed Clara way too much especially with her being new to the whole idea of BDSM. He didn’t listen to her at least as far as I was concerned. But this was a good read and very hot and erotic. I liked the author brought up about PTSD and that these people are still heroic and brave even if they have this from their experiences especially defending our country. Also how bad it can be for some people. But i did really like the characters and the ins and outs of this story a lot and I recommend.

This is the 4th book I've read by this author and by far the most disappointing. This book is all sex, with very little if any plot. The blurb leads you to believe that there will be a plot other than sex, however it's not until the end (maybe last 5%) that the issue with another guy even comes into the story. Noah is supposed to be tracking someone through the story, and I had thought that maybe that guy would be tied to Clara somehow, but the author seemed to just abandon that part of the plot.

Not a horrible book (hence 2 stars instead of 1), just not at all what I expected from this author having read other books by her. I wanted more of a connection between Clara and Noah. I wanted Noah to act like he cared for Clara instead of constantly trying to control her life. I wanted a plot that went beyond her exploring BDSM.
