I liked Dane and Lexie but I felt like this book was just a bit too long. There were so many sex scenes that towards the end I was just skimming scenes.

Nine Kinds of Naughty sounds like its just going to be a sexy, easy read (nothing wrong with those) but it is so much deeper. Jeanette Grey creates characters that are both interesting & real- struggling with everyday issues. And she writes in such a way that you are swept into the story from the very first page.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

I will forever and ever read all of Jeanette's words. She has this way of making characters magical, and these two were no different! I absolutely love her writing.

Nine Kinds of Naughty is the third book in the Art of Passion series by Jeanette Grey, but it is easily read as a standalone story. I haven't read the previous books in the series, but I didn't have any problems understanding this one. There was a lot I enjoyed about this book, and I think that if you are looking for something sexy and steamy that also has some substance this is one definitely worth checking out.

Lexie Bellamy is used to ruling the boardroom, but has less than stellar luck when it comes to relationships. But when a business trip puts her in a position of spending one on one time with her sexy coworker, she finds herself in trouble. Especially since Dane Huntley is determined to show Lexie that while she might be his boss, he is more than capable of taking charge in the bedroom. Can Dane convince Lexie that their relationship works once they return home though, or will Lexie fight him every step of the way?

I found the dynamic between these two to be really interesting. Lexie is used to being in charge, so she doesn't let go of control easily. She had trouble trusting, and it was hard for her to let Dane command her at times. But I really enjoyed seeing their roles reverse between work and the bedroom. Dane was easy to like, and I loved that there was more to him than you first see and he wasn't your stereotypical hero. It was refreshing to see a romance where the hero and the heroine each had positions of power, rather than just the hero being super alpha and ruling every aspect of their lives. These two were sexy and had a ton of chemistry to go along with their growing connection.

Overall, this was a really good story and Jeanette Grey is definitely an author to watch. I enjoyed the characters and Jeanette's writing style, and I am looking forward to reading more from her in the future. This might have been the first book that I have read from her, but it won't be my last. I will warn readers that they do delve a bit into the BDSM scene here, but it was done in a tasteful way that I think most readers will be okay with. Even if that isn't your favorite, I think that this one is worth the read and taking a chance on.

Nine Kinds of Naughty is the third book in Jeanette Grey's series Art of Passion. I hadn't read anything by Jeanette Grey nor even heard of her before this book, but now that I have experienced the intricacies of her style, I will read more of her work, especially the other books in this series. Nine Kinds of Naughty is the story of Lexie, joint CEO of the family business and Dane her sublimely attractive personal assistant. She is a workaholic, driven by the fact that she has never been seen as "good enough" by her family. She's very good at business but has only experienced let-downs in personal relationship. She believes it is her own fault that, in her mind, "everybody leaves." Dane is an excellent PA and ably anticipates what Lexi needs, before she knows it herself. Fortunately, Dane isn't as driven as Lexie - he keeps his weekends free for adventure, like bungee jumping and other daring pursuits. Quite suddenly, Lexie and her team are going to Spain for a takeover bid, where they will stay until the project is completed. Needless to say, Dane is none too happy at this business trip but he has to go.

Lexie finds that working in Spain is very different to what she's used to; everybody leaves work at the usual time and she is unsure how to manage her time & her frustration with the business ethics of the Spanish people she is dealing with, while Dean is settling in with co-workers and enjoying himself. What is becoming apparent is that they are both feeling the attraction to each other and this tension continues to rise; but Lexie has already had a fling with someone from the office that went horribly wrong and she is not willing to risk her reputation as a dedicated executive within her family's business. She is so worried about what other people think, that she can't relax and enjoy herself. Dane is not really satisfied with his life, either. He's unhappy with his working life - he really wanted to follow the family tradition and be a fireman like his father and older brother. Unfortunately his older brother died and his terrified mother demanded he forget his dream and take a nice safe office job. He's thwarted with the need to take hold of his life, but he's also falling in love with Lexie, who begins to rely on Dane outside the office. He is getting closer to making changes in his attempt to find happiness, until it all comes crashing down!

Jeanette Grey weaves the emotions of both characters in an ever tightening thread till both are ensnared. She casts a line and you are wound into absorb this story. The characters were beautifully drawn as we went on this journey with them. It was a seductive story that kept me intrigued to the very last word. I was sorry when the book ended - I wanted more of both Dane and Lexie. If only there was another book...

Lexie Bellamy has no problems in the boardroom but when it comes to relationships that's another story. When a business trip takes her to Spain, Lexie knows she'll have no problem closing the deal. But spending uninterrupted one-on-one time with her crazy-hot coworker might be more than she can take.

At the office, Lexie gets to call the shots. But this trip is the perfect opportunity for Dane Huntley to show his gorgeous boss how good it can feel when someone else takes charge...

Miles away from home, giving in to Dane's naughty commands feels so easy. But when the trip is over, Lexie's determined to go back to their professional relationship. Dane, though, has other ideas. He'll have to prove that what they've found together is real... and he has no intention of letting go.

Jeanette Grey is a somewhat new author to me. I just recently read Let It Snow and am glad to read yet another great story!!

Lexie Bellamy is the definition of a strong, independent boss lady. She’s extremely smart and has so much going on trying to have control and prove her worth, Lexie hasn’t just let go in some time. She is bound and determined to show her brother that she is perfectly capable of running their company.

Dane Huntley is an extreme thrill seeker trying to mask the pain of losing his brother. Dane is playing work life safe for his mother, working as Lexie’s assistant even though the corporate world is just not for him. Dane knows Lexie desperately needs to lose control and he wants to be the one to show her how. But how exactly do you get your boss to explore the BDSM lifestyle with you?

Nine Kinds of Naughty was EXACTLY that…so very naughty. Lexie and Dane are both strong characters who try to keep their vulnerability close to the vest. Their chemistry, in and out of the bedroom, is very sexy. Now, there is A LOT of BDSM which I thought might make me a little uncomfortable (it’s just not my thing) but I feel that the storyline was done very tastefully. I kind honestly say that Jeanette Grey has changed my mind about BDSM stories. I loved the fact that Lexie was the boss and that Dane was the assistant out in the professional world. Yet in private, Lexie was the one doing the submitting. The role switching really peaked my interest and made the story very appealing to me.

Though there is A LOT of sex, I enjoyed watching Dane and Lexie build their relationship based on trust. I loved how it evolved into something more and how Lexie learned to let go.

There are two other books in the Art of Passion Series which do not have to be read to follow this book. However, I will definitely be checking the rest of the series out!

This is one of the most sensual, sexy and irresistible romances that I have read to date. I could not put it down and finished it in an afternoon!

WOW.THIS.BOOK.WAS.NAUGHTY 😉

I have read a couple books by Jeanette Grey in the past so I was excited to see another one!

Lexie is a smart and strong woman who was it all together, but she is to controlling and has the urge to prove her worth all the time. She doesn't know how to let go and go with it. Well of course this is before her assistant Dane. He is the complete opposite, corporate domination is not his thing! And his weekends are his time to let loose weather it be on a hike or taking part in something a little more naughty! He realizes that he know just what Lexi needs and he is the one to show her!

Jeanette does an amazing job with this book and I can't wait to read more from her!

Nine kinds of Naughty = All Kind of Fun!!

Nine Kinds of Naughty - Jeanette Grey

*4 STARS*

I picked up this book not knowing that it was part of a series, but I had read a previous book by this author and enjoyed it so much that I jumped at the chance to read something by her again. I am happy to say that NINE KINDS OF NAUGHTY did not disappoint. With it's perfect balance of story, romance and sexy times, I was captivated from beginning to end.

This is the story of Lexie Bellamy and Dane Huntley. Lexie is a corporate executive in her family's company and Dane is her assistant...her really hot assistant. Lexie has been involved with a coworker before and it didn't turn out well at all, so she knows that Dane is strictly off limits.

When a business trip puts them in close quarters, things heat up and a world that Lexie never knew she was meant for is opened up for her. Dane shows her his dominant side and she quickly finds she wants to submit to him.

And while she is in charge at work, she's more than happy to let him be in charge in bedroom. But, what happens when they have to go back to real life?

So, yeah, this was not what I was expecting at all, but that's ok because NINE KINDS OF NAUGHTY was a little slice of BDSM heaven. There wasn't anything heavy in this book, so it more BDSM-lite, but I loved Dane's brand of loving dominance. It was totally swoon worthy. And it completely fit with the story.

My heart really went out to Dane though, he was having a rough time and thought that he had found his solace in Lexie. But then things went south and he was alone again. It was terrible and I wanted to strangle Lexie. He didn't handle things the best either but I thought she was being very unreasonable. It really is my only complaint about the story.

But, the fact that I had such strong opinions about this is really just a testament of how invested I got in the story. The characters and the writing made it impossible for me not to get sucked in.

NINE KINDS OF NAUGHTY is the third book in the Art of Passion Series, but the first two books are about another couple so this one can easily be read as standalone. I didn't feel like I was missing anything by not having read the first two books. I think I will go back and read them when I get the chance though because now I'm curious about how that couple got together. Jeanette Grey is not an author I have a ton of familiarity with, but I'm 2 for 2 with her books now, and I'm interested in seeing if I can keep up the trend.

I have not read any of the previous books in this series. This book was a little hard to get into at first. I did hit a stride towards the middle and then couldn't put it down. Lexie and Dane had a rocky start for me at the beginning, but soon the passion and change in their relationship made me want to keep read.

Note, I did request and receive an advanced copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

Dane is struggling to keep himself sane. He wants nothing more than freedom and adventure and the rush of danger. But because of his brother's death years ago, his mother has forced him to play it safe -- hence his desk job in the city when he'd rather be back in the country and following in his dad and brother's footsteps (firefighter). Going in to work every day is killing him inside. He uses each weekend to escape, to dive and hike with his buddies -- and enjoy a good scene with a willing sub. But that's not enough anymore and things are pressing down on him too much . . . except for one thing, one lifeline that taunts him: his boss. He wants nothing more than to show her that she can let go, completely, and he'll not only hold her up but also break her apart -- with pleasure, that is. But he knows that's a dangerous game to play, boss and assistant, and Lexie is especially skittish about starting anything. She's been through the coworker relationship before and it didn't end well for her at all. But Dane . . . Dane is nothing like her ex. And she can't continue to deny the chemistry sizzling between them, the connection that's right there, just waiting to turn into more.

I loved the dynamic between these two. In the office, Lexie is the boss, she's the one in control, while Dane is her assistant. He's by no means beta or submissive at the office, but he knows to stand back and let her take control, while helping her in any way he can. But outside of the office, the tables flip; Dane is the Dom and Lexie figures out that she needs to submit to him, needs that time where she doesn't have to hold the world up on her shoulders and she can just forget about it all while taking care of her Dom -- and he her. Their relationship is done so very well and the power never felt off or uneven. In many ways, they're actually on even footing; whether it is him in control in the bedroom or her in control in the boardroom, they always show the other the utmost respect. And that's key in any relationship but most especially in a D/s relationship. It's not just about consent but also respect for one another.

The BDSM aspect is quite strong here, but it's not overly hardcore. It mostly focuses on the D/s, with some light bondage, but it never goes too far into the extreme side of the BDSM scene. There are some spankings, a time or two with a crop, and a particularly hot scene where Dane teases her for most of the day (he has a small vibrator pressed against her clit while they're out and he, of course, has the remote for it). He's commanding with her, but not in a mean or disrespectful way. It's just . . .gah, hot. Assuming that you're not opposed to that kink, of course. I know some will avoid this book because of the BDSM, and that's fine! But if it's your thing, I promise, you're going to love how well done it is here. And hot. So hot.

This is definitely erotica; their relationship is based on more than just sex, of course, but the sexual exploration definitely moves their relationship forward, and affects both of their character arcs, by showing who they are, what they like and need and want. I'm NOT complaining about the amount of sex (hello, when would I ever do that?!) but again, I want to tell you that there IS a lot of sex -- a scene every few chapters, after their first time -- so that you know what you're getting into. If you don't like a lot of sex in your books, then this is not the one for you. Again, that's fine!

If, like me, you love your books delicious dirty and ridiculously hot then you're going to love Nine Kinds of Naughty. Trust. Me. I'd share a sex scene snippet but I couldn't narrow it down. I'd start to reread a scene for a quote and suddenly I'd look down to see I had read 30 pages instead. Oops.

Together they explore her sexuality and kinks. At first, she freaks after submitting to him -- not because she didn't want to (I assure you, she's ALWAYS into what they do and there's explicit consent for every scene), but because she has to work through her own baggage thinking that submitting in the bedroom makes her weak in the office, will make people talk and look down at her. Because society, unfortunately, is still very set in that fucked up view of women and their sexuality. So it's an understandable inner conflict that she works through. She was also hesitant to play around with bondage because she never felt like she could trust a man so completely. Dane does not push her on this, ever, but he does talk to her about it and ask if she'd like to some day attempt a scene with light bondage. He only asks because she admits to him that it's not a hard limit. And there is a scene, later, when she finally asks him to tie her up. Yes, the scene was hot as hell, but what I loved was it showed their trust and relationship growth, not just the kink and hot sex.

Basically, this entire story is as much about the hot, kinky sex as it is the deeper emotions -- both the emotions they experience together in their relationship and the emotions that they each go through while coming to terms with who they are and what they want.

I could go on but I really don't want to give everything away. I will say that the black moment conflict towards the end was not at all surprising, but did irritate me while reading. However, it wasn't a "WTF, I hate this!" irritation where you want to throw the book and walk away. No, not at all, it was the kind of irritation when you KNOW that the scenes have to happen because they do fit with what they're going through and what they each need to come to terms with before having their HEA. Does that even make sense? I realize I'm being vague, but just know that I thought the black moment conflict fit the story and characters, and was needed, but it definitely hurt me a bit when it hit. But this is a romance, and you know that everything ends up okay in the end, and both Dane and Lexie stronger for it. Stronger as a couple but also stronger as individuals; Dane finally shakes off his shackles and goes for what he wants, and Lexie realizes that she doesn't have to be so hard on herself, that if things don't succeed at work every single day, it's not her fault, that it's okay to be strong AND still submit and let Dane take care of, too.

I cannot fully put into words how much I adored their dirty, emotional journey. The fact that this is my first 5 star for 2017 should tell you a lot though. Nine Kinds of Naughty is a story that's going to stay with me for a long, long time. And one that I'll be returning to again. I just have one question: Where's my Dane? 😏

Overall:

Did I like Nine Kinds of Naughty? HELL YES!
Would I recommend it? YES!
Would I try another from Jeanette Grey? YES! Book 1 and 2 both cover her older brother's HEA, with book 1 ending on a cliffhanger, so I'll be reading those back-to-back. I cannot wait for Lexie's younger brother, Evan's story, which I'm hoping comes out in the next year or so. Beyond this series, yes, I'll still be reading Grey again. I loved her writing.
Quick sell: Seriously sexy, deliciously dirty, and emotionally satisfying, with BDSM that is done very, very well.

I was not able to connect with Lexie and Dane as a couple, and I really did not connect with Dane at all. I think I never really believed him as the dominant part of their relationship, so his inner dialog especially didn't work for me.

I look forward to the next book by this author and by you, as I think this was something about me and the characters and I am certain the next one will be better for me.

Thanks,
Laura

Lexi is always in control however while in Spain with her assistant, Dane show her how fun it can be to give up some of that control. I liked this steamy read. The sex is off the charts hot and the story kept me hooked from beginning to end. I really liked it.

This was an absolutely fun, sexy, hot, wicked, and naughty read that brought not only love, lust, romance but also trust into this lovely read. Lexie and Dane work together and in the boardroom Lexie is the boss. Lexie is a strong and independent woman and can and does keep control of all things in business. However, after hours her assistant Dane has recognized she may need to let go and submit to her desires and good thing he is just the one to be there for her.

I came into this series on this book and did not feel lost and would deem this a standalone.

With a title like Nine Kinds of Naughty how could I not want to read this book? This was my first book from Jeanette Grey and I was definitely impressed with her writing style. The story of Lexie and Dane flows from page to page in an easy manner and you’ll be sucked right into it without even realizing the captivating effect it has on you.

I found Lexie and Dane to be amazing characters and I loved their sexy and forbidden attraction. Their story delved into the world of BDSM but it was all done in a very tasteful manner so I think for people who don’t like this genre too much it will still be a good book. Dane may have been under Lexie in their professional job but when it came to their personal lives she was the one submitting to him, which made for some great scenes. I loved that about the book and found it unique for that reason since it’s usually the Hero that’s the big bad Dom in every aspect of his life. Instead, we got to see their roles switch in and out of the bedroom and it made their story really interesting.

This wasn’t just a big book of smut though, there was a lot of relationship involved also and we got to see Lexie working her way towards trusting Dane. I really liked that we got to see these two building their relationship slowly before going all it and it one of the reasons I was so involved in the story. Bottom line, this is a definite recommend from me and I hope a lot of people will give it a try. I haven’t read the first two books in this series and I wasn’t lost at all so it’s not necessary to read this series in order.

Well, Jeanette Grey has done it again. She's written characters and a story that sucked me in and made me fall in love with them.

I knew Lexie Bellamy would be a great character. She's strong and smart and has it going on. But Lexie has so much going on, trying to control everything and prove her worth, that she doesn't know how to let go. And in steps her assistant, Dane. Dane works so well with Lexie, but the corporate world is not his dream. On the weekends, he lets loose to regain a piece of himself by doing outdoorsy adventure stuff and by participating in BDSM sex. Dane recognizes what Lexie needs and proceeds to show her.

HOT. That one word describes this. Lexie and Dane were both strong characters who both showed a vulnerable side that they each tried to hide. They had this push and pull with just the right amount of angst. I loved it!
